Last night I had a wonderful dream that we no longer had to wear masks at work. Since I work in skilled nursing/rehab facilities,  I will likely retire before that actually happens! Oh well,  a girl can dream.

One of my patients sketched me last year.

On a COMPLETELY different note, my hair looked fabulous today. I've had approximately 20 good hair days in my nearly 54.5 years of existence. Today was one such day.

Of course, neither my husband, nor my son noticed. For some, unknown reason, I decided that you  follks needed to know. Now you do.

On the other hand, I walked three miles in the humidity, then went to my granddaughter's end-of-summer/back to school pool party. My hair looks like crap today.

The joys of retirement and hunkering down - letting my hair grow and just pulling it back into a braid, with an occasional trim every 4 months or so.  I’ll probably cut it back to shoulder length before we cruise in the next year or two but it’s down to my waist now, so I’ll have lots of length to donate when that finally happens.

Please let us know if u can I am in Ma son is in NJ on vacation! worried sick lol

Looking like the storm will turn to the west--so affecting NY/Conn./RI more, but still not taking any chances--we all ran around today securing lawn furniture, bringing in plants, etc.  Our hummingbirds are going to be unhappy, we will only have 1 feeder out during the storm--much closer to the ground.

It's a beautiful night here--almost full moon and hardly any wind....but expect things will be very different in the next 12 hours.

Hopefully your son will do ok in NJ and stay safe.  Wishing the best.

Bracing for the arrival of now-Hurricane Henri tomorrow.  Looks like it's due to hit NY and a good chunk of Southern New England (we live south of Boston, and have daughter living in Wareham close to the water on south-facing coast, near Buzzards Bay/Cape Cod Canal.  Our other daughter & son live in Plymouth, also on the coast. Should be an interesting Sunday for us all.

Hope everyone in Henri's path stays safe!

Hope everyone stays safe as can appreciate the concern with how wild and damaging our Tropical Cyclones can be.

Most of NJ had minimal effects, some local flooding. TV just showed people setting up on the beach for sun and fun.

Saw on TV the flooding issues in Newark, NJ.  Not bad here so far....Boston TV station showed folks along the South coast & down Cape out at the beach enjoying the wind/surf.  Always a few diehards not concerned...

Hope @Thrakand his family are doing well as all caught up in the western fires.

Completed my radiation treatments on Tuesday and am starting to feel better. I will have follow up in November to gauge progress. I am now feeling good enough to start back on the exercise bike.

Marj and I will be headed to Atlantic Beach, North Carolina for a weeks vacation starting Labor Day weekend. We are breaking up the drive in both directions by stopping at the Navy Lodge at Norfolk Naval Base, which provides quality lodging at a fraction of the price of equivalent lodging off base, one of the perks of having served 21 years in the USAF.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Good news!! Have a great trip!

I'm back!! Majestic Princess was incredible!! Everyone so happy to be onboard. Barely gained (waist 1/2"^). Can hardly wait until I go again in December. I'll be exactly 8 months after vaccine then + another antigen test + mask up if needed!!  And I won $0.40 in casino 🎰.  Better than losing 😁😷

Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself, I enjoyed the Majestic Princess when I did a 14-day cruise to New Zealand. Got my steps ups when I was on the Majestic Princess.

Yay!  After several follow-ups with the state and the hospital that hosted the vaccination clinic, my first covid shot from February is finally showing on my official state vaccination report so it now matches my card.  So glad I checked (months ago) and noticed the information was incomplete and had the time to get it corrected, rather than be surprised right before a cruise.  Lots of room available for additional boosters through the months/years.  Ummmm, time to start packing yet?

The evacuation order was lifted for Burt Ranch so our daughter in law and granddaughter were able to go home yesterday. Hopefully it stays that way. We also finally got my wife's vaccination records straightened out so we both now have the QR Code on our phones. Of course we haven't gone anywhere that needed the codes yet but, if we do ever manage to get back on a ship, we have the verification.  Hopefully, when the booster happens, it will get included and we can simply download new codes rather than going through the "we don't know anything about you" hassles again. I guess it will likely depend on whether or not the vaccinating folks submit the info properly this time.

Glad they get to go home!  Very scary...we were evacuated for fires here in Florida several years ago.
As far as I know...we don't subscribe to this "QR code" thingie?
