Have you read Lisa See? Her grandfather was one who started Chinatown in (I think) San Francisco. The last one I read was The Island of Sea Women. She usually writes from a Chinese perspective but this one was Korean based, and went into detail about how Korea got divided up.

So many good books out there.

Yes, I remember Sambos.  When I was a little girl we use to go for family breakfast after church on Sundays.     I vaguely remember the story on the menu but sounds like you have it right.

You should try Cracker Barrel or Metro Diner. Lots of specialty local diners/cafe around that have much better breakfast than Denny’s. IMO

Longhorn steakhouse was always our night time eating venue.

The Porterhouse steak was my favourite.

Sorry but not really great places for good food. Longhorns puts too much salt on their meat. Denny’s is just above McDonalds. IMO

That is a lot of paper bag lights to turn on & off (if that is what they are  ) They look beautiful!
