Rare Essiesmom Posted April 11, 2020 #79 Share Posted April 11, 2020 It will be more than an hour before we see her. She has to get into the second lock to be visible, just the bow then. Best view is when passing into the third lock. EM

Rare Essiesmom Posted April 11, 2020 #84 Share Posted April 11, 2020 There is a cargo ship in the first lock now. If you look at the pic from the Agua Clara cam: https://multimedia.panama-canal.com/Webcams/aguaclara.html You can see the water level falling, and get an idea of when the ship will be appearing in the second lock. If they are using the water in the catchment basins, you can sometimes see the levels changing. EM

Rare Essiesmom Posted April 11, 2020 #87 Share Posted April 11, 2020 The tug at the bow of the cargo ship can now be seen in the second lock. Ship should appear soon. EM

Rare Essiesmom Posted April 11, 2020 #91 Share Posted April 11, 2020 As you see the cargo ship rising up, notice the levels of the water in the basins to starboard going down. Also, in the upper right of the picture, you can see ships coming and going to the Gatun Locks. EM
Rare Essiesmom Posted April 11, 2020 #92 Share Posted April 11, 2020 Lica Maersk is getting close to the top, so start watching for the gates to open. I find that part fascinating...EM
Rare VMax1700 Posted April 11, 2020 #93 Share Posted April 11, 2020 There are no AIS signals from KDM tenders, so they must not be in the water. There was no opportunity to unload them, so they must be in place. Would you agree?

catl331 Posted April 11, 2020 #96 Share Posted April 11, 2020 The beam on the Lica Maersk is 37.4 meters, or just 2.4 more than the Kdam. If the K still has her lifeboats in place (and I presume that's the case) they're really going to be close to those poles on the near side of the lock.
