Blue Chip Casino Offer

They are legit.  My husband & I took our first ever 'Holiday' cruise on NYE 2019 on the Edge. I wouldn't pay those prices for a Holiday date, but the timing fell right for work and we jumped on it.  It was nice.  Too crowded for my tastes and we have now "been there, done that".

The rooms are limited in which to choose, but nicer than what we have been offered on other lines.

I booked my sister and myself on the above mentioned Apex on Nov 14th this year. DH wasn't interested at the time, but now he thinks he is.  He has his own offer, if he wants we could book another cabin and HER DH. I'm thinking about saying something...lol... extra Casino expenses and I really would like a girls cruise to do what WE want to do. First ever.  Umm... maybe a different date?

When I called to book, I paid for the port taxes & fees and was assigned a room. I asked about paying the difference to upgrade to Aqua Class and was told these offers are not eligible for upgrades.  I'm guessing that means, as in the past, not for the Move Up either.  The NYE Edge trip wasn't eligible for Move Up.  BUT, another one I booked through my local casino last April WAS and we spent $500 pp to go from outside to balcony on the Equinox via Move Up.

So, there are a few stipulations, but still a great deal.  OH... and you can cancel normally (different now) within 2 weeks prior to the sail date and get your PTF returned.

For those of you who have never received an offer... have you signed up to receive marketing offers via email?  That is where I usually get ours.  You have to  opt in. There is also a new place on the Blue Chip Club web area to sign up again.  I saw it on cruise critic somewhere...

I don't know what the dollar amounts are required for gambling offers.  DH & I both have the same $500 per day budget, play the same game, same strategies and bets.  We typically play every time the casino is open, a minimum of 5 hours per day.  The difference, I go to bed around 10pm, he closes the casino down for another 5 hrs.  He gets better offers and is a higher tier level.  I was actually surprised to finally be getting offers.  We have cruised Celebrity 3 times in the annual count for level this last year. April (free), October (paid big $), & Dec (free).  Onyx & Amethyst.

These things are so random. My husband and I have both been active gamblers with Blue Chip for years now (were both Sapphire level for a couple years) and we got a couple offers a few months ago a couple weeks before everything shut down but then nothing since. I'd say it was because we already have a cruise booked for next year but I see others reporting here that they have a cruise booked but are still getting offers.

We actually have two Blue Chip Offers booked right now; Equinox June 14th that hasn't been cancelled yet and Apex November 14th. The new offer has lots of sailings listed and they go out as far as April 24th on the Apex. We will probably book something for next year. Having Said that all the cruiseline casino programs are throwing offers to us. Princess which we hardly sail sent an offer which includes a room, $250 free play, drinks, wifi AND gratuities included. Their offer is for cruises next year and include their newest ship not even out yet.

Yeah, we were getting inundated with Princess casino offers in the few months leading up to the corona shutdown and wound up booking one for this December. Not sure if we'll wind up going though. Have gotten very little from Celebrity though except from third party casino reps.

I too received the email with a free cruise offer.  There was a link to a form where you could list a 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice of sailings which I completed and sent to Celebrity.  The form says they will call you back within 72 hrs.

I do have a question for those whom have taken offers before...when I completed the form, iI notices t had spaces for up to 4 people in the cabin.  Nowhere could I find if there is a charge for the 3rd & 4th person in cabin.  I know they pay the port fees and taxes but what additional costs is required?  I called the Blue Chip number and have been on hold for over an hour.

Thanks.

Nice - BCC is extending the current tier status for a year:

"Because we value your business, we will be extending our earning period from June 30, 2021 to December 31, 2021, on any sailing ending within this period. This gives you an additional six months to reach your next tier. Prior to the end of 2021, we will launch special tier point multiplier sailings to get you to new tiers faster."

We both got an email for the free veranda.  Lots of cruise choices.  We decided to book a back to back on the Apex since we have not been on that class of ship yet.
We both are amethyst in their casino.   Celebrity has for  few years given free drinks in their casino while playing.   We don't drink much so if they don't, if we want a drink while playing we'll pay for it.  We have the lounge nightly to go get drinks in if we want.
We have cruises booked on other lines in November that probably wont' go because I dont' think Bermuda is going to be open.
And then in January and who knows if NY is going to open their port by then?

Yeah, I got that too. They also extended my Sapphire status (which expired at the end of December dropping me to Amethyst) through the end of 2020, which is nice, probably as an enticement for me to book another cruise before the end of the year.

I got the comp cruise offer in May.  How do I know what Tier level I am at?  I'd love the Classic Drink Package.

Hi Palm Trees,

to find out your tier you can call them directly at 866.461.7170 or send them an email: bluechipclub@celebrity.com

I was surprised that we received the offer from Blue Chip.  My husband I do cruise a lot and frequent the casinos way too much but have only been on one Celebrity Cruise.  We choose 3 different cruises and our offer they emailed us and booked is on the Edge December 6.  We were booked on Royal Caribbean Symphony of the Seas December 5 which I will cancel as the Edge is costing us $229.  Certainly can't pass that up.

We are booked in a E4 stateroom with Infinite Veranda.  I believe there is a 15% obstruction .  I'll have to research this room but what could be bad.  Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Lovely system they have isn't it.  I wonder how much geography comes into play.  Either way, that is sad to be Sapphire and no offers ever.  Right now is a unique situation but that wouldn't explain prior times.  Seems to be luck of the draw in the random machine.

Being in Canada I don't expect an offer to cruise 'right now' as I think they realize that would be wasted effort since international travel is questionable for a while, but if the offers are extending way out in time then that's a different story.

Hi Fstuff -

I too am Sapphire and I never received an offer - ever. Then I followed "NutsAboutGolf"s post/link from the other BlueChipClub thread:  "BCC's site says there are some changes coming: https://www.celebritycruises.com/things-to-do-onboard/casino" and signed up.

I received an offer within a week.

My mom is a sapphire, and we cruised in February (free for her cabin).  She's received emails and US mailings offering free cruises in the past 6 weeks, including Christmas cruises on the Edge and Apex. Tip for other sapphires, just tell them what non-suite cabin you want. I've never been told no if the cabin is available.  Sometimes I've booked before their casino rates have been loaded, and I've been quoted almost rack rate, but in time they've been reduced to taxes and fees.

I would simply recommend calling them in the morning.  I called two weeks ago, at about 2pm PST it was about a 27min wait and a 7min wait at 6am PST.  For those who received offers based on BCC play, they said to submit your preference and you'll be contacted in two weeks, we're beyond that time period by quite a bit so the hope is wait times are way down.  Early mornings have had the least wait times in my personal experience, with the exception of Monday morning.
