Spif Barwunkel Posted May 24, 2020 #104 Share Posted May 24, 2020 This response pertains specifically to posts 91, 93, 95. I'm relatively sure that the OP was referencing Covid19, but the OP did not say that. What you say is only as effective as how you say it. And yes, I am very much aware of what's happening. In fact, what happened early on in the pandemic has hopefully provided valuable lessons-learned. A whole new set of protocols may come to the forefront in dealing with a re-occurrence. Do you know what they will be? I sure don't. Belaboring what's been said hundreds of times before adds no credence to the topic, I am Covid19 serious. Some posts are all over the place. I really don't know where they want to go or what they want to say. So, to me, they say nothing at all. Probably my shortcomings. Lot's of shoulder shrugs while reading this thread. The Seinfeld approach might be a bit too sophisticated. Perhaps more like Mr. Bean.

Roger88 Posted May 26, 2020 #112 Share Posted May 26, 2020 Well, we have seen it happen like 3 or 4 times in the news. People will be locked up in the ships and they will have to stay there for 3-4 weeks. Doctors will be invited on board the ship and then it will take a few more days to do the testing of the remaining passangers and also covid tests when you leave the ship. Not a very enjoyable procedure I should say

It makes sense to why they only want "drive to port" cruisers too start. They have less potential risk than fly in guests, and if they have to go home it isn't a great distance to do so. I guess that's why they only want three day sailing to start. You test healthy when you board and are hopefully 🤞off before anyone has shown signs of having Covid. They need to put their best foot forward when they start as they have one good shot at this.

Non smokers have a part of the casino in an almost separate building, I cannot smell any smoke in that part of the building. There is nothing for non smokers to complain about. Then again... some people are not happy unless they are complaining. Nothing can be done about those type of sad individuals.

Also, there is plenty of smoke in the non smoking section. In many ships, it can be smelled several floors up.

I would think the mere fact that I mentioned another "building" would have made you recheck what you thought you were responding to.

They can't afford for that to happen, so regardless of how much people want cruising to start back up, IMO it isn't going to happen anytime soon. I just got roasted on another thread for saying that it wouldn't surprise me if the cruise lines require a recent COVID19 negative test, and a document saying social distancing was practiced after the test. This means get your haircut and pedi BEFORE you get tested, wear a mask, practice good hygiene, and socially distance yourself on the way to the ship (a la the airplane). The people that don't agree with this concept are the ones that say, "you can get it from the tester", so why bother? We have practiced 2.5 months of shelter-in-place, shopping once a week in the early hours of the morning, wearing a mask, washy-washy-washy, and social distancing. 4 days ago we both tested negative for COVID19. It's how much you expose yourself that increases your chance of getting it.

Lot's of incoherent twaddle, however. Kind of like the way this pandemic is being handled by some so-called powers-that-be. What happens if a ship sails and people get sick?. Easy answer, a ship sails and people get sick. What happened 25 years ago? What will happen 25 years from now? You get the point. Sorry, I find no relevance to this thread nor any of it's posts.
