Booking a February 2021 cruise. Anyone else jumping in??

Recommended Posts

I'm on the verge of booking a Feb. 15, 2021 cruise out of Charleston to the Bahamas on the Sunshine. The price and the OBC was too good to pass up. I'm interested in seeing what everyone else is doing. I know times are uncertain, I'm just curious. Y'all are so good at giving advice!

Thanks!

I rebooked my cancelled May cruise for January. Same cruise out of San Juan except for one port that is different. Sept. was cancelled and currently crossing my fingers October is a go. Not planning on booking anything else unless a good deal comes along.

I have had 3 cruises cancelled, the latest cancellation was for August 15. I already had a b2b in November, January 16 and March 1 booked. I took my fcc and obc and applied to January 16 cruise. Also booked another for January 30, so hoping something goes besides my money!

I'm not giving advice, just reporting my choices.  I've had a March and a September cruise cancelled and am expecting my October cruise to be cancelled.  It's wearing me down.

The next scheduled one, I booked well over a year ago, is for March.

I am not going to book anything else prior to that one.

I have already had 3 cruises cancelled but still have 5 cruises booked thru next year.  I fully expect my cruise in October to be cancelled and who knows what will be going on when 2021 gets here. I have no plans to book another cruise until cruises resume, although I would be tempted if I got an offer or saw a price so good that it would be tough to turn down. But it would have to be close to we will pay you to go on this cruise to get me to book it.

We just booked another cruise on the Freedom for Feb. 28-March 07, 2021, to replace our cancelled Freedom cruise in Sept. 2020. Exact same itinerary, and exact same cabin number. It took about 2 hours on the phone with our TA, and she successfully transferred all funds over to the new booking number. All except FTTF. The original FTTF purchased for our cancelled cruise is being refunded back to our credit card. We had to turn around and purchase FTTF again for our new booking. BUT, we now have a total of $870 OBC which is kind of nice! It was easy peasy. True, a lot of holding as our TA had to put me on hold to call Carnival to get everything transferred, but she got it done.  👍

It was too tempting to resist. I've been sitting on it since yesterday. I have a $500 future cruise credit out there from a cruise I cancelled from April, but unfortunately I cancelled prior to the mandatory shut down. This promo has a $500 OBC and it's just myself and my husband. So the total fare would cost me around $450 for both of us for a 5 day with a $500 OBC. I appreciate your response. Go Birds!

After our 2nd cruise was cancelled,  I wanted to just step back.  The hubs booked a cruise for Feb 27th. We'll see what happens.  I no longer have an opinion on when cruising will commence.

I had 5 cruises this year cancelled - but I have a NYE cruise (12/27/2020) and a B2B starting 02/7/2021 that I am hoping sticks.  I keep on booking, they keep on cancelling ... LOL.

Were they 5 different cruises or 1 rebooked 5 times? Keep on plugging away!

We had it narrowed to either Feb 15th or May 1. The February cruise had the better promo. Fingers crossed yours sticks.

Joe I'm so happy for you.  The thought of phoning can be daunting,  but all questions can be be resolved in one fell swoop.  Well maybe one long swoop.

Also glad you were able to get FTTF again.

I HATE that the Freedom is moving from Galveston and envious of your family's time on her.

Happy sailing.

Thanks so much for the kind words bmas. And I know the Freedom is your favorite ship. We wanted to sail on her once before she left Galveston.  Let's just hope this nasty bug settles down so we CAN all sail this go around!  👍

Voorhees, you must be from south jersey!  Im waiting for my October cruise to be cancelled. From there, we are 75% sure we are just taking the refund. We have another cruise booked via royal from 2019 in November out of san juan that if cancelled, we will just make it a land vacation and go to Culebra and Vieques for the week. We have a rescheduled rccl cruise in February which I think will go. I will go on my October cruise if it goes.

Our September Horizon B2B was cancelled. Rebooked Horizon B2B for the end of February 2021. Sure hope it happens, getting tired of rebooking cruises.

I had an April cruised cancelled, so rebooked to September.  That one was cancelled, so rebooked to January with an excellent casino rate. I hope it sails. It sounds like your deal is good with $450 for 2 people and a $500 OBC.  I would definitely take the risk and book it.

I am hoping for the best.  It's strange not being able to cruise.  On the plus side, I am saving a lot of money not traveling.

We're booked for early January. We got a great deal when they ran a "2 days free" sale in April. We hadn't planned on booking anything for that time, but saw the deal and jumped on it. I'm not giving up on it, I think cruising will return before then. There aren't too many left who still feel that way, but that's ok. We're looking forward to it. It'll be a home port we haven't sailed out of yet, a ship we haven't been on, and even a class of ship we haven't cruised on, so we're looking forward to the different experiences all around. And if by some chance it doesn't happen, sure we'll be disappointed, but I'm sure we'll re-book and look forward to the next one.

Too much up in the air right now for me to plan anything a month ahead, forget about a year into the future
