CL/SL future when cruising returns.

The Crown is a much better place for the DL than the old cigar room location.

Granted, but Izumi won out.

Star Lounge makes a good overflow, so that's good. VCL can be a problem because of limited elevator access

Izumi is the issue. So SL got the old DL, and DL moved ro cigar room. Navigator and Voyager are similar. Adventure and Mariner kept the old DL location

I wasn't aware Explorer had any sort of Amp because in October 2019 the DL and CL were where I said.

Well, I'm just going by whst was mentioned and completed on Navigator and Voyager.  But even I could move the DL sign to the old CL, and make a new SL sign for deck 14. Problem solved

Probably would have happened if covid19 hadn't stopped everything.

Earned what  as  D+?     The same benefits as someone paying 10 times  the cost  a standard  cabin or the same benefits as one who has over 700 cruise points ( almost 6  times what is needed for D+)?    D+ is 180 points, a very nice show of loyalty and rewarded with a variety of generous benefits, but not worthy of what suite and Pinnacle guests should receive.

I don't see the issue with using a DL rather than a CL?  Who cares what it is called?  What have you done  on ships  with  only a suite lounge and  diamond lounge?  If there is no CL what choice is there.  If the lounge name  is so important,  book a suite, sail enough to reach  the  Pinnacle category.    Other wise, be happy with a DL.

M

Just to be clear... it's 3.8 times, not almost 6 times.

Answer to OP - D+ should have access to CL only, not SL. SL should remain suites and Pinnacle. In reality, I would rather be able to use the three drink vouchers (any time during day/night including specialty coffee) and not have access to any lounge.

CL are being phased out now and being replaced as SL.

When cruising returns with social distancing all the lounges are going to be different.

I suspect D and D+ will have free drinks vouchers,Pins have the DL and Suite Guests the SL.

Phased out? Well yeah but they are still putting em on new builds. I couldn't care less about the lounges (minus the appetizers) and wish the drink vouchers would be all day and include coffee. It's really moot anyway, as I drink for free all I want in the casino, but the casino does not have coffee!! They would get more money out of me if they had espresso drinks. Alcohol just makes me tired, and uninterested in gambling.

They are changing the Concierge name to Suite Lounge on all new builds and on the amps on Independence and Freedom etc.

I like to call in for a coffee or 2 during the day as my coffee is a

Cappuccino with a double espresso added when I make my own so a good reason I like to call in to either DL or CL

Coffee in the Windjammer and Cafe Promenade is not very nice.

They have Odyssey's listed as Concierge Club, not Suite lounge.

Pretty sure the CL on Indy and Freedom are now cabins and not a SL.

If a ship is built without a CL, how can they change the name?

Possibly a mistake because pre covid19 Royal were stopping D+ entering the CL and changing to SL as D+ were never given admittance by loyalty alone to a SL.

Yes they put inside cabins there on deck 10 on Freedom and Independence and made a SL in the VCL on the opposite side to the DL.

That would be great,  On our last cruise there were  less than 20  P.  Cruise last summer   had 8.     Considering those who don't utilize the lounge,  those who may be traveling with others who don't  have access,  those  who  have other plans, that should make for easy social distancing.

Seems it might be easier to social distance in the (mostly empty)   lounges  than anywhere on the ship.  Heck, I may event start having my evening drink there there!

The numbers may be even lower if a Pinnacle is also in a suite.

Seldom do most Pinnacles cruise during the high volume sailings like Summer, Spring Break and some holidays.

The old CL (deck 10) on the Freedom class ships was converted into inside cabins. The Seven Hearts and Cloud Nine (deck 14) was converted into the SL. No longer a CL on Freedom, Liberty and Independence. We preferred the DL over the CL on the Liberty and Freedom.

Get that. The CL on Indy and Freedom were converted into cabins. It was not converted or renamed a SL. 😇

Not sure what your comment has to do with CL, small groups of Pinnacles or Pinnacles who also sail in a suite.

Pinnacles  sail during  summer, spring break and often on Christmas and/or NYE  I know this as a fact!

Cappuccino with a double espresso.

I like it!  I will definitely try it if we have access to a lounge machine.
