Does Albergo del Senato have an iron in room or offer ironing services?

I don't recall having an iron in the room, but I never looked for one. You could email and ask, I'm sure they'd respond.

The Hotel’s Concierge will know of a company offering services.
We used one company (unable to remember their name), they collected in the morning and delivered back early the same evening. It was a dry cleaners we wanted, but discovered they also offered laundry and ironing services.

Know the Concierge will have it at their fingertips.

It’s just a part of their job.  Good luck…

@-Lew-  Thanks for the information on the Family Suite Town House!  This is what I was looking for prior to our cruise, since it will be DH, myself, DS and his wife.  Like you, we are going fall of 2025, so I have booked and am so happy!  Appreciate the info!  Karla.

@Hearthosesteeldrumsplayin...

So happy you were able to book the suite.  It offers plenty of living space for four adults.

I notice you're sailing on Grandeur in January.  We board Grandeur on January 24th for a B2B2B...will our paths cross?  We're also on Grandeur embarking Port of Rome on October 25, 2025 to Miami...any chance you're on that sailing?

We are flying in a couple of days before our cruise and want to visit the Vatican. Does anyone have any hotel recommendations near that vatican? Just my wife and I.

Think one is leaving it a tad late…. Rome is known for fluid pricing and trying to book a hotel of any quality, one will be possibly looking a North of £200.00 - Can only suggest well known booking sites with filters… Alternatively, if on a budget then a clean, no frills, accommodation for 1/2 nights, at a very reasonable price, then consider.

Some are in good positions for popular sites - Filter their website.

Also, may be leaving to late for Vatican Tickets.

I wish one luck

I’m looking to book at the hotel Smeraldo for September 2025.   There are rooms called “Premium Double Room” and rooms is called “Premium Double Room Parione”.  In reading info about the room, even the Premiun Double Room says the rooms are located in the main building or in the Hotel Pariine.  Is one location better than the other and is it possible to request it?

I noticed several posters saying they will be in Tome in April of 2025. We are taking the transatlantic ship from Tampa to Rome and then intend to visit Rome for a few days. Never been to Rome and would love recommendations for all things Rome… hotels, sights, restaurants. We prefer budget friendly. Tia.

You might do a further search here in the Ports of Call forum.  There are many threads.

We recently stayed at the Hotel Le Clarisse Pantheon, which is seldom mentioned here.  For us, the location was fantastic with two blocks to the Pantheon, four to Piazza Navona, and one block to Largo di Torre Argentina for buses and taxis. It’s a small, 22 room inn with a nice European breakfast out on a terrace and personal service.  Just another place to check out.

I believe you would have no trouble recalling if you had to do it.  We did and it was brutal.

Agree.  We did it in "2019" and I still remember the awful struggle of getting luggage up and down the stairs!

It's been a few years, but we really liked the Hotel San Giorgio.  Our experience was that it was a block away from the train station, near shopping and had a reasonably priced bus transfer to the ship.  Although the hotel is across the street from the pier, our ship was a good distance into the port area.  Trying to navigate to the ship with luggage can be done, but it would have been challenging for us.  The breakfast had a good variety of options.  The rooms were well furnished.  It's an older hotel but quaint and well maintained. There are steps leading to the entrance, however, the Concierge (or Bellman) was there to bring our luggage through a separate entrance about three feet to the side.  No problems and we would gladly stay there again.

We’re booked at Albergo Del Senato. I don’t recall, do they have an elevator?  They do have A/C, right?  No pool but does have a roof top bar, I believe.

I'm curious about A/C myself. I've read a few posts hotels in may dont have it turned on. City of rome doesnt allow it turned on until June. Anyone been there in may?

I'd like to confirm not only they have A/C but its turned on in may. I think that's one of the hotels I have on my list.

All I get is single patron and the price of 550.80 €

Is this a good price for this hotel refundable rate it says. Is it likely to have a big sale? I can keep looking. I'm solo just looking for a soft bed and convenience. Nothing special. Breakfast is a plus here.

The same exact room that was 550 euros is now 850 euros. Went up that much for 4 nights since I looked a month or so ago. I guess the lesson is book early. Yes, it's a single room for a solo traveller. Maybe the conversion rate changed by that much? 550 to 850 euros direct? I'll arrive may 26 and flights thru royal arent available until 11 months out is why I waited to decide. 4 nights same dates went up this much? I couldn't decide 4 or 6 nights either and been very busy. I'm kind of not happy it could go up so much.

@firefly333...

Your number show taxes and fees at 40%!  I checked our booking for the last time we stayed at Albergo del Senato in 2021 when those fees totaled 10%.  I don't know when the increase took effect, but that could be a substantial portion of the price increase.  The 40% rate could be an error and worth a check.

Your quote is in euros, so exchange rates does not figure in your numbers.

If it's a refundable rate, I would go ahead and book it.  Cancellation is very easy if the rate reduces or you find a different hotel.

Well air fare isnt out for another week and I want to bundle them together. Probably use a hotel site though I did see the warning above. I got 2 other hotels on my list. Only one is refundable, albergo santa cliara. About same exact price, a little higher reviews. It's also close enough to walk to the spanish steps and close to where i want to be, within walking distance. Same amenities, breakfast, airport shuttle, wifi, ac, and refundable.

A few bucks cheaper same area, but not refundable hotel Francesca. Breakfast and airport shuttle but it's not refundable. I've spent all  morning comparing reviews and locations. I only want walking distance to tivoli. To walk to see the sights. I doubt I'm up to figuring trains out. So far just these few. And the first one I named reviews are 9.4 stars, a bit higher than the others.

I got a week to decide, and by then royal will also have airfare and shuttle prices I can compare.

On a hotel web site this hotel is rates 9.4 on reviews. And refundable. I pulled it up in Italian, the rate is 1.07 euros to $1. I'm not sure if this says refundable or not though. I googled it and camera just means bedroom. Gotta make sure this is the same hotel and location as I was looking for, within walking distance of spanish steps.

Albergo Santa Cliara .. 4 nights after I get off my cruise. Just to compare. So far this solo room tops my list. Idk if all solo have that little balcony pictured. Also superior solo, but I'd take the smaller solo with balcony so far top of my list. Here is direct price in euros.
