I'm going with Korčula, Croatia for this one. The hillside matches up well with the background at the left of this photo of sogne's from last Friday which I also identified as Korčula.

this port claims to have a perhaps dubious connection with a famous medieval explorer

I've been neglecting some ship spotting opportunities with this photo. Here's what I think I'm seeing for the ships in this photo, from left to right (I wish I could be more specific about the AIDA and Costa ships).

1) One of the AIDA ships launched between 2007 and 2013 (AIDAdiva through AIDAstella)
2) Queen Elizabeth
3) Marella Spirit
4) A Concordia-class Costa ship
5) The Balearia Lines ferry Abel Matutes

OK, that hints leads to Zeebrugge, Belgium. And I've finally found photos of the port of Zeebrugge that include those two particular cranes as well as a couple of wind turbines visible in the background. So I'm going with Zeebrugge, Belgium for this one.

correct  although have been to Zeebrugge on Cunard this was taken on a professional visit

... I guess you recognize the ship?

Oh, very interesting. Glad you brought that up. I hadn't been examining the ship close enough. After zooming in, I see now that's not the former Cunard ship I had assumed it was. Let's just leave it at that for now. 🙂

This port has been on here already, here's my view of it

Looks like this is Sarande, Albania again. After missing that one earlier since it's not on any of the itineraries I have, at least I've learned to start checking that port now!
