ljason913 Posted October 15, 2020 #26 Share Posted October 15, 2020 (edited) if these crazy strict rules are enforced i dont think cruise lines will survive long term.more people will go to resorts instead..i would not invest in cruise line stocks way to risky Edited October 15, 2020 by ljason913
yogimax Posted October 15, 2020 #27 Share Posted October 15, 2020 I never realized sunbathing was so important to people. It seems like a small price to pay to give up sunbathing for the ability to cruise. Then again, we never sunbathe, one reason being the danger of developing skin cancer.

Simple choice. If there is going to be any changes when/if cruising resumes we'll all need to comply with the new requirements. We'll wait until RCG officially publishes any new requirements in our cruise documents for our future cruises and then base our decisions on that.

It's not only sunbathing it's sitting in the shade enjoying a good book or people watching, it's everything you do outside as well as inside.

When I was growing up in the 70's and 80's coming back from Spring Break with a great tan was the coolest thing ever. Now I cringe when I see people baking for hours on end with dark brown, leathery skin. Same here. This won't be a problem for me because of skin cancer. I wonder how effective that material would be in mask form? Problem is only some Sun goes threw the material. Still end up with Tan Lines... You are literally exhaling vapors into the air.
suebcoop Posted October 15, 2020 #40 Share Posted October 15, 2020 You can order a clear mask off some websites and that will solve the problem with tan lines.

I think it is the realization that the only time you won't be required to wear a mask on the ship is in you cabin, eating and swimming. Cruising is not going to be as enjoyable.

Some of my favorite days are lazy days around the ship's pool. That is part of the joy of cruising - something for everyone. If the cruise lines can stay afloat with people willing to follow the protocols more power to them. I will wait and spend my money where the rules are more to my liking.
molly361 Posted October 15, 2020 #43 Share Posted October 15, 2020 Off topic Will be interesting to see how they policy the only 4 in an elevator or just your party. I know if sailing at 50% it will be half as bad as it is now but sometimes now it's pretty bad and the folks pretty pushy

Plus my bucket list includes Machu Pichu, Angkor Wat, Prague/Vienna/Bhudapest/Krakow, Egypt/Jordan, Serengeti/Masai Mara... can't get there on a cruise ship, so perfect timing for me to think about these type of vacations in the next few years.
