I Can See Cruise Ships

I live in the South West of the UK a mile from the sea on the south coast, so the view can be very nice

as its on a hill. There are 5 or 6 cruise ships moored in the bay, 4 HAL and 1 P&O we aren't sure what

the other one is as it's further out to sea.

At night it is a lovely sight when they are lit up, only wish we were on one of them

Are any of them expected to be cruising soon or is that just their " hangout spot"?

Its a horrible day with 50 mph winds, when it improves will try for photo. . It is just a hang out spot , they move along the coastline to different areas

Perhaps you are seeing Volendam, Nieuw Statendam, Westerdam, Emerald Princess, Azura, QM2, Ventura and off in the distance to the east Queen Victoria?  EM

I love the marine traffic app! It’s more fun when ships are sailing!

mac_tlc  There is now a Naval ship by my little fleet it is on/near Berry Head side. Any idea 

what it is?

This was our labrador puppy down on the beach in Dorset a few weeks ago. A fine selection of ships in the background.

 

We see them in Southampton dock occasionally too. Missed Apex but heard her

Guilty of 'screen time'.... not much more to do in Covid times.  Love the pic of the little puppy with ships in the background.

HMS Severn or HMS Richmond, on opposite sides of the Bay.  EM

Indeed it can . Coupled with the FlightAware app, I can blow an entire evening.

Those little boats are fishermen going to sea But see  Essiesmoms post re the Naval ship

Thanks EM, we live next to the sea but rarely find out what is sailing nearby

We visited the Isle of Wight recently. We have sailed by on many occasions to and from Southampton but had never been there. We were at the most western point, called The Needles and you could see the ships in Torbay and Weymouth in the distance. I must admit, I downloaded  one of the maritime tracking apps to see which ships they were.

Hah! I feel you there. I have done that a few times as well.

The way the virus is coming back, full force, you probably are going to see them for several more months. That’s if they aren’t put into cold storage or scraped.

Posted these photos on Royal Caribbean forum. I was down on Poole Quay just over an hour ago. This tender is from Allure, they tied up to pick up a parcel . The ship is anchored in Poole/Bournemouth bay.

Yesterday my little little fleet disappeared, I believe they went to Fowey or Falmouth to refuel and/ or re stock supplies
