Is Celebrity no longer going to offer the Bermuda cruises out of Cape Liberty for '22?

I'm trying to consider the options for either FCC or refund as a result of our May 15 (10-night) Bermuda cancellation. My first choice would be to rebook for the following year, but I'm not even seeing the Summit going out of Cape Liberty. Anyone know for sure?

Is this of any help?

We had a 9 night booked for May 6th and would have done a L & S if there were any dates for May 2022 but I didn't see any either. Rather than waiting for X to cancel which we knew was inevitable since it had been removed from their website, I canceled it on 11/17.  Happy to say my $900.00 deposit was posted to my cc today, 8 days later. Thanks X

Will try to find out more in the next few days I suppose. What Tigrou sent is encouraging but wonder how updated that info is?

It was only published on the Celebrity Commitment website in the last couple of days, as "Updated Bermuda/Canada 2022 Deployment".

Which I thought was a little odd given that I hadn't previously seen itineraries for Summit that far ahead into 2022 so how could it be an update.  I expected to open it and find it was actually the updated deployment for 2021, and that the 2022 was a typo, but that isn't the case.

My 10-night Summit Bermuda Charleston May 2021 cruise out of Cape Liberty was also cancelled.  I don't trust that the schedule will have settled down by 2022, so I just told my TA to cancel it and get my deposit back.  This is the second time that cruise has been cancelled (this year and next year).  I'm done with playing the refund game with Celebrity and MSC.  When things settle down, I'll think about booking some cruises.  I fully expect my other Summit cruises for 2021 to be cancelled as well as they are both 14-nighters.

Possibly the same sailing as ours? May 15?  I'll gladly reschedule it for '22 or take something else in May if I'd find an itinerary that suits us. I told my TA to hold off for a few days (with my prior instruction to take a refund). Looking through '22 trips but not really finding much that I'd want to book with a FCC.

Bermuda cruises were one of my favorite cruises of all times. My grandfather used to cruise to Bermudas every summer. It was like one of those get away he really loved to do with my grandma. Its a pitty we wont see it anymore. It breaks my heart really

Never been there yet, and so was really looking forward to it. I chatted with a Celebrity agent on the website (one of the least most helpful agents I've ever dealt with) and she said they have no idea what the '22 schedule is yet for Bermuda.

There is a good amount to pick from for '22, but nothing at all out of Cape Liberty. This is why the decision as to whether or not to take a refund (or FCC) is sort of hanging in the balance. I'm not really interested in sailing out of the FL ports.

Great thanks! Do you also have the links for the other ships, especially Europe in 2022?

On the Celebrity Commitment website there's a list of 10 'Deployments & Destinations', each with a link to 'new updates' once there's any information.  No idea if it's a coincidence or deliberate, but so far they've been announced in order of that list.  First were  'Caribbean' and 'South America', the links became live and lead to details of the Edge, Infinity, Silhouette and Summit redeployments for winter 2021/22.  Next came 'Bermuda/Canada/NE', initially with the 2022 list but later that disappeared and was replaced with the shorter 2021 list of Summit cruises.

The rest of the list is as follows:  'Alaska', 'Europe', 'Asia', 'Galapagos', 'Australia/New Zealand', 'Hawaii', 'Coastal & Canals'.  They all currently show as 'Coming soon' but with no indication of when that might be.

Unless I see something soon on the website or else an agent tells me that a particular sailing is definitely going to take place (so far that's not the case), I guess I'll have to go with a refund from my recently canceled May cruise.

One thing seems just a bit confusing in the email I received. It says:

"If you are unable to rebook by December 8, you will automatically receive a 125% FCC valid until December 31, 2021, for use on sailings through May 4, 2022. The value of the FCC will be calculated based on the amounts paid toward your cruise and will be processed by December 22, 2020 via email. Cruise taxes and fees will be refunded separately to your original form of payment within 30 days of cancellation. No action is required on your part to receive this FCC. Please note, when redeeming your Future Cruise Credit, only one FCC may be applied per person, per reservation.

If you prefer a 100% refund to your original method of payment, as opposed to the FCC, you may contact us anytime up until December 31, 2020."

I'm a bit confused on this. If a FCC is going to be "automatically" issued if I don't rebook by 12/8, how then is it possible to wait as long as 12/31 to request a refund? Unless a refund can still be requested after a FCC is issued (probably not), something doesn't seem to make sense. If the FCC is not going to be issued until after December, of course, then it works to have until the end of month to decide. Guess I'll have to ask them. Without those Bermuda '22 schedules, the decision is pretty much made I suppose. I could take the FCC on the assumption that there will indeed be Bermuda cruises as listed in the deployment document, but no guarantees.

I think that Celebrity is intentionally trying to push us to the 2021 shorter Bermuda itineraries as opposed to allowing us the option to L&S to the 2022 longer itineraries.  Then they can dramatically increase the prices they “get” for the longer 2022 Bermuda itineraries.  Just another fine example of taking care of the loyal customer base.

I'm sure you're absolutely right. All I'm hearing - from a friend who sails with Celebrity far more than we do - is how the prices are going up. Well, if such is their tactic - trying to dangle the (shorter Bermuda trip) carrot in front of me isn't going to work. I'm set on doing that 10-day if it comes back.

That Bermuda /Charleston/Newport  itin was awesome.  We were booked on it for May 2020. ( I believe you were as well)   We cancelled before Celeb cancelled it..so we are stuck with a large OBC  & did not get our cruise ins costs  refunded as part of the deal. We have one booked cruise..lifted and shifted to Reflection 2022, from Connie  out of TPA 2021, ( which was recently cancelled anyhow) .

Tired after all the cancelled / deposit torment.  Not booking anything til we  use our FCC or somehow get the value back from X..

We also enjoy sailing out of cape liberty in August and are now booked on the Oasis of the Seas.  The itinerary isn't to Bermuda, but the ship is wonderful and we enjoy Nassau, coco cay and cape canaveral-not so much.  But great to enjoy the ship.

Never met a ship I didn't like 😃   As far as size, though, I must say that last year we were on a ship that holds a bit over 900 passengers and really enjoyed it. No kids, no casino, no photographers bugging you for pictures, no set dinner time, no charge for specialty restaurants, etc. That (less busy, less structured, and certainly less noisy) environment has great appeal for us. But I think we should experience one of the large ships as well. Friends of ours were on the Oasis and said we HAVE to do it sometime.
