Royal Up - Your RoyalUP request has been sent to the ship.

Hi all! Will be boarding Quantum of the Seas later today (and looking forward to it), and earlier put in a RoyalUp request. Up till this morning, it was showing as pending, and I just got a mail from them:

 

We were not yet able to confirm your upgrade, however we have sent your request below to our team onboard the ship for last minute consideration should space become available. No payment has been taken.

 

I've never seen this one happen before, usually it's either accepted or rejected by now. Any idea if this happened before, and what my odds are if so?

I haven’t read about this happening. Not sure anyone will have an answer but you have answered a question many have been wondering about....Royal up will resume once sailing resumes, even with limited capacity.

This first cruise only has 1000 passengers on board.  They may need to look at distribution of guests so the upgrades are being handled onboard.

Like many other things in the COVID era, there'll be lots of unusual things happening, especially at the beginning of restarting of cruises.

Maybe they’re holding Royal Ups in case passengers are turned away at the pier due to temp checks, etc.

Ah that’s true, I realised I forgot to update you all on this one! Sadly no luck with the upgrade (to RLS so it was probably a long shot) but the stateroom I have now is really good too so not complaining
