Any ships have rooms for 3 or 4 people?

I thought all river cruises only had double rooms but I recently read a post from someone about the AMaViola having a room for 3?

Ama's newest ships have some cabins for 3 and also connecting cabins that work for groups of 4 or 5.

Tauck has one category of cabin with a pull out couch that will accommodate 3.

I've heard mentioned on other boards that the 3rd in the AMA rooms is best suited for a small adult/child.  Can't give you personal experience, but you might want to confirm it's a full size twin at least.

If I remember the discussion it was a chair that opened out to a bed, which would be more the size of a cot.

The chair ones are supposed to be twin size.

The Crystal ships have two bedroom suites, connecting suites and the deluxe suite category can take a rollaway bed.  We have a deluxe booked for this summer (transferred from last year), keeping our fingers crossed!

Some of the Uniworld suites also have a pull-out. Ours had a loveseat which pulled out to a bed.

Not sure how old the 3rd person is - but you may also want to check pricing for 2 cabins. It may not be that much more and you then have 2 bathrooms!

I asked over on a Disney-centered forum, as Adventures by Disney uses the AMA ships.  Consensus there is the 3rd bed, a pull out from a chair, is best for tiny adults or children.  One poster said even their kids did not like it as it was not comfortable.

 

Unsolicited, the recommendation was to get a second room.
