kangforpres Posted March 12, 2021 #1 Share Posted March 12, 2021 I guess I could make this a poll. We are on the 11-14-21 (7 Day Mexico) from San Diego Cruise so I'm hoping the Under is 11/01/21 Over/Under is a way to bet on sporting events. In this case, Do you think will start cruising again in North America, before 11/01/21 or After 11/01/21? Let's have some fun. Paul
seagarsmoker Posted March 12, 2021 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2021 You have the date very close to what I was thinking, so I will say under.

Paul HAL normally starts it US season (excluding Alaska & Canada) sailings in mid Oct as I recall, so I seriously doubt they will be sailing before then. On the other hand, I think they will try VERY hard to get the holiday 2021/22 sailings in - very good money for them.

HAL4NOW Posted March 12, 2021 #7 Share Posted March 12, 2021 We are scheduled to sail from Seattle to Alaska in September of this year. HAL has not canceled that sailing yet. I would love to say 'under' but...
Seahorse99 Posted March 12, 2021 #8 Share Posted March 12, 2021 Over. We have not heard of any progress toward meeting CDC environmental requirements that were a problem pre-pandemic.
kangforpres Posted March 12, 2021 Author #9 Share Posted March 12, 2021 Looks like Alaska maybe the first state with "herd immunity" they are now vaccinating every over 16 y.o. Maybe this will help save something of the Alaska cruise season.

Unless there is waiver to avoid visiting Canada allowing the cruises out of Seattle to go which I highly doubt will happen, if people want to visit Alaska, I think they are going to have to it by land. I’d love it if were wrong but .....

rkacruiser Posted March 13, 2021 #15 Share Posted March 13, 2021 Over. If it is at all possible the holiday cruises for December, 2021--I am certain that HAL would want to get those sold and have them successfully take place.

It's a nice cabin too 6002 which has the wrap around balcony right under the bridge.

AtlantaCruiser72 Posted March 13, 2021 #21 Share Posted March 13, 2021 I’m thinking that IF Carnival can restart from US ports over the summer and that goes well that the Nieuw Amsterdam 10/23/21 7 day sailing from Ft Lauderdale may be the first HAL ship to sail from a US port this year. That said they could create some new 3/4/5/7 day sailings before then just to get some cash flow for the brand.
