NavyCruiser Posted March 14, 2021 #1 Share Posted March 14, 2021 Let's say RCCL got 100% of their crew vaccinated, & restarts cruising by June 1st. They also requires 100% of the passengers to have a Covid Vaccine before sailing, will you get Vaccinated & are you willing to go cruising then...? The only requirement are passports & vaccination card showing you're "fully vaccinated" (at least 2 weeks after your 2nd shot). With our local communities getting to phase 1C to have vaccinations avail to all 16+ without conditions starting this coming week, things are looking better. Please Let's not get into the intricate details & political statements. Just a simple poll to see if you're finally comfortable being full vaccinated to start going on cruises with other fully vaccinated people soon... not-enough-cruising Posted March 14, 2021 #2 Share Posted March 14, 2021 Under your scenario, I would go; IF and only IF there was NO mask mandate on board and NO distancing measures.

whyrlygig Posted March 14, 2021 #6 Share Posted March 14, 2021 Already got mine and am ready to go! Masks and social distancing are going to be with us for a long time to come and it doesn't bother me one bit. 4
NC State Posted March 14, 2021 #7 Share Posted March 14, 2021 We think it's going that way so we are looking to get our first shot soon. When your company/boss tells you that they "strongly advise for you to get it" we think we might better to keep our jobs. Yes, if it means to be able to cruise again...YES we will get it.
firefly333 Posted March 14, 2021 #8 Share Posted March 14, 2021 Already vaccinated so I cant und it. If cruises go I'm going vaccinated though I'm not sure where I put that cardboard card. What will you do about the cdc testing requirement required until nov 1st? Cdc isnt known for doing what you want, and erring on the side of who cares about cruising. We got bigger fish to fry. Goodtime Cruizin Posted March 14, 2021 #10 Share Posted March 14, 2021 I'll go if the wife gets vaxed. She doesn't want it. I have pfizer #2 on this Wednesday. I did not get the vax for cruising but for personal health reasons. We have a cruise for Aug 19, 2022. so things can and probably will drastically change by then.
pstone1 Posted March 14, 2021 #11 Share Posted March 14, 2021 We will be ready to book and cruise. First booked cruise now is December but can add something sooner! Both of us will be vaccinated and we don’t care if we have to wear masks or social distance. We’re both happy on our balcony with the fantastic view and a cocktail!

In this hypothetical are we assuming that they are not allowed onboard?

Because distancing measures change the dynamics of the experience I pay for a cruise for. I don’t want to be mindful of walking down the promenade, or make an appointment for my turn to sit in a lounge and have a drink. If we want to pop into the casino after dinner and play some craps, I don’t want to put my name on a list and wait until enough people come out so I can go in. (Same goes for any of the shops on board) Social distancing eliminates the spontaneity that I enjoy on a cruise, so I will not spend my money on that experience. 8
gmerick Posted March 15, 2021 #15 Share Posted March 15, 2021 (edited) I will be vaccinated, and go as soon as I can. Unvaccinated children wouldn't bother me. The science shows children are very low probability transferrers of COVID-19. I will also wear a mask full time even if not required. It's just the sensible thing to do to protect my own health. Edited March 15, 2021 by gmerick Kids sail w/o vaccines.
Sunshine3601 Posted March 15, 2021 #16 Share Posted March 15, 2021 We get our 2nd dose of pfizer on march 25th. Ready to sail on a fully vaccinated ship. Masks ok other than sun deck, social distancing sounds just fine to me as long as it means the elevators wont be packed. I hate that! I will enjoy having tables in mdr and other restaurants spaced out as they were too close pre-covid.

nancy2vues Posted March 15, 2021 #19 Share Posted March 15, 2021 Yes, of course. DH and I get our 2nd vaccine on Apr. 3. Mask is okay too. I am am hoping that we can keep the mask off when on the beach at Coco-Cay, but totally okay with the vaccination part, and are also okay with masks on board when necessary.
dswallow Posted March 15, 2021 #20 Share Posted March 15, 2021 I am fully vaccinated. I will get on the first possible sailing Royal Caribbean operates that is available to me as a US Citizen who would have to travel to whatever international port that likely is to be, since the CDC is incapable of providing any sort of reasonable plan to reopen sailings from US ports right now. And I will stay aboard as long as I reasonably can to maximize the # nights/flight cost value. 🙂
Sky616 Posted March 15, 2021 #21 Share Posted March 15, 2021 Hell no, nobody getting the poison in my family. Many people having very bad reactions and some dying. 5
keywest1 Posted March 15, 2021 #22 Share Posted March 15, 2021 (edited) DH, DD, and I are fully vaccinated and would love to sail as soon as possible on a fully vaccinated ship. My reasoning for wanting everyone to be vaccinated is the chances are slim to none of a quarantine onboard with an early return to home port, IMO Edited March 15, 2021 by keywest1
BSocial Posted March 15, 2021 #23 Share Posted March 15, 2021 Yes, ready to go. Really think the fully vaccinated ship is key to more ports of call opening up to cruisers. And - hopefully - CDC giving their blessing to US-based ships.

Then you will never cruise again because Masks and Social Distancing will be on ships forever and ever amen. Masks for certain. Social distancing perhaps not because they can't afford that forever but a mask costs nothing to wear. Anyone who refuses to wear one should be banned from every cruise line in the world after 1 warning. After all how else can you prevent being sued for catching Covid on a ship or protect against people lying about having the vaccine or the counter the fact the vaccine is not 100% effective? If the answer is in the terms of the contract I say don't you think have tried that already in these all inclusive places? 2
