zelker Posted May 25, 2021 #1 Share Posted May 25, 2021 It's official. Eurodam is taking over the September, October, and November itineraries for the Westerdam in the Med and the TA. In fact, Westerdam's first sailing now shows November 13, 2021 out of FLL through the Canal and heading to South America. We didn't receive notification from HAL yet but I knew it was coming so logged into our account this morning and sure enough, the old confirmation disappeared from our HAL account, replaced with a new one that shows the Eurodam, stateroom, etc. We're actually really pleased with the switch so we'll be able to enjoy Tamarind and we actually gained an extra day and port with the TA! 😄 3
St Pete Cruiser Posted May 25, 2021 #2 Share Posted May 25, 2021 Yes, we guessed the same. Good for you, especially as your cruise looks more assured.
Cruising-along Posted May 25, 2021 #3 Share Posted May 25, 2021 Thanks Barb! I was expecting this too. hmm, our stateroom changed from a Neptune Suite on the Westerdam with a cabin # to a guarantee Neptune Suite on the Eurodam.... A call to our PCC is in order, I sure hope we'll have some say in where our cabin will be.

When our Zuiderdam cruise was switched to the Volendam, none of us had any say in cabin location. HAL assigned us all. They simply guarantee that you will have the same category that you had before. Good luck and I hope your ship switch is smoother than ours and you’ll have some say in the selection of your cabin.
zelker Posted May 25, 2021 Author #5 Share Posted May 25, 2021 How strange. They put us in the almost identical location on port side deck 6 for our SS that we were in, no phone call required. Fingers crossed you can get one assigned right away in a location you like.

Thank you both -- and to complicate things, we just learned that our PCC left HAL. We're being assigned someone else who apparently has been with HAL a "long time" so fingers crossed.

So did we, we went from SS6071 to SS6067 on Eurodam in almost same location on the ship. Our air booked with Flight ease no longer show in our booking but I hope they just haven't transferred it over yet, I would hate to lose the great price we go on our business class flights. Also no updates from HAL about the itinerary as I am sure the 2 stops in Turkey will go away unless Turkey opens back up by then.
zelker Posted May 25, 2021 Author #10 Share Posted May 25, 2021 Unfortunately our air went up about $300 pp. Part of that is attributed to us flying home from FLL on a Sunday instead of a Saturday but the other part is that at least for now, the Delta flights we were on no longer show on FlightEase and we had to move to United, still in Business but more expensive. Hoping they offer Delta again.
atexsix Posted May 25, 2021 #11 Share Posted May 25, 2021 I've been on both ships, but Eurodam is our favorite...glad everybody knows now and there's no more speculation.

But I imagine this past year has been quite tough on them so I can't blame him. I probably would have left long ago, if I were him. I'm sorry to see him go. I kind of wondered, he took a day off here and there -- I wondered then if he was looking around.

john2003 Posted May 26, 2021 #15 Share Posted May 26, 2021 Strange they added the Azores. Great choice of ship as we love Tamarind but really screws up our flights home as we are a day later.
NCTribeFan Posted May 26, 2021 #16 Share Posted May 26, 2021 (edited) Wait a minute. I just booked a Eurodam cruise last night for 11-14; 10 nights on a "free" casino offer (which I had to pay-in-full, of course). So she's not going to be replaced in the Caribbean? Just logged in and my Res is still there, showing Eurodam as my ship. Edited May 26, 2021 by NCTribeFan

She arrives FLL on November 14th after the TA, and then will start the Caribbean so the Nov. 14th Eurodam cruise you booked was never affected.
NCTribeFan Posted May 26, 2021 #18 Share Posted May 26, 2021 Phew. I guess I read it that she was switching with Westerdam but then W'dam was going straight through the PC. Sorry for the initial panic! Hmmm. Maybe I should look to book the TA and do a nice B2B! I actually should be on a Med/TA late Oct/early Nov. Had those booked on Carnival for last year. Those were cancelled and rebooked for this year. Those were cancelled when Carnival decided to not even bother taking the ship to Europe for a possibly non-existent season, so I'm now booked on it for NEXT October.
Cruising-along Posted May 26, 2021 #19 Share Posted May 26, 2021 We're happy campers today! After talking to our new PCC yesterday, we have our cabin assignment today and it's one of the ones we told him we would prefer. Aft wrap Neptune here we come! 😄
sarellen8385 Posted May 26, 2021 #20 Share Posted May 26, 2021 We just got the email notification for the 27 (instead of 26) day transatlantic but I don’t see where the cabin assignment is. Can someone direct me? Thanks.

Maya_C Posted May 27, 2021 #24 Share Posted May 27, 2021 I just found updated itineraries for the Eurodam, which differ from the original Westerdam's itineraries. This info appears in prnewswire dot come, which lists the source as Holland America. Mediterranean Cruise Itineraries (all cruises are 12 days): Sept. 12: Venice; Zadar and Hvar, Croatia; Kotor, Montenegro; Argostólion, Crete, Rhodes (overnight), Mykonos and Piraeus (overnight), Greece. Sept. 24: Piraeus; Istanbul (overnight) and Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey; Sarandë, Albania; Dubrovnik, Korcula and Rijeka, Croatia; Koper, Slovenia; Venice (overnight). Oct. 6: Venice; Katakolon (Olympia), Piraeus, Rhodes (overnight), Santorini and Crete, Greece; Kotor; Korcula; Venice (overnight). Oct. 18: Venice (overnight); Dubrovnik; Kotor; Corfu and Katakolon, Greece; Naples, Civitavecchia (Rome), and Livorno (Pisa/Florence), Italy; Cannes and Marseille (Provence), France; Barcelona. Oct. 30: Barcelona, Cartagena, Malaga (Granada) and Cadiz (Seville), Spain; Lisbon, Portugal; Funchal, Madeira; Ponta Delgada, Azores; Fort Lauderdale. With COVID putting the world in flux, I assume some changes may occur in the ports. ~Maya

In fact Athens the departure is the ONLY stop in Greece. We rebooked for next year on a 14 night true Greek cruise.
