Thank you for the Thursday Daily, Rich.  A great selection of days although I prefer my tea hot.  Love the Renard quote.  I've cruised the Amazon twice, both times on the Elegant Explorer.  I'll have to see what Debbie says about the meal.  My alternative is Papaya with Rainbow of Fruit, Cheese Ravioli, and Strawberry Ice Cream as served on MS Prinsendam June 10, 2015.

Care list:

Lynny Poell, (Vintage Geo’s neighbor) fighting for her life after a hit and run

Welfare of furloughed crews

RIP StLouisCruisers’s DS

RIP St. Louis Cruisers’ niece’s twin grandchildren

Cruising-along’s cousin rejecting a kidney

StLouisSal’s weakness and fall injuries

bennybear’s SIL diagnosed with aggressive cancer awaiting surgery

mamaofami DH Sam recovering from a stroke

Wandb’s sister undergoing agressive chemo

RIP ger_77's favorite uncle

Celebrations and Shoutouts:

Front Line Health Care Workers

Jabs for HAL crew at Los Angeles, San Diego and Fort Lauderdale

Major improvement in Tana

Nieuw Amsterdam in San Pedro building up crew for Alaska season

Second jab for grapau27's DW and sailingdutchy

Seasick Sailor’s visit with her sister

and Sabine, HAL’s likely first female Captain(I know this is a repeat but she’s worth it)

Thanks for the daily report Rich; good morning everyone.  Who knew ball point pens had a day!  I use herbs from my garden most every day.  Love iced tea, with lemon of course.  The sliders sound interesting and I love a lemon drop martini. I haven’t been to today’s port but it is on my bucket list.  Prayers to everyone on the prayer list.  Cheers to all celebrating events today.

Good morning.  Iced Tea day will be perfect for today's heat.  Enjoy Herbs and Spices for cooking.  I think there may be a ball point pen around someplace.  Interesting quote.  The sliders sound wonderful.  Looking forward to all the photo's of todays port.

Virtual hugs and major prayers for our care list.  Toasts and shout outs for our celebrations.

Stay safe, social distance, and please continue to wear your mask.

Lemon Drop Martini:

Lemon Sugar

3/4 ounce (1 1/2 tablespoons) simple syrup

Thanks for the Daily, Rich and our morning smile 🙂

Interesting collection of days.  All things I use and enjoy!

LOL on the Renard quote.  I’ll remember that the next time I am lazy 😉

Not sure about the meal suggestion.  I’ll wait to see what Debbie has to say but I KNOW I love lemons drop martinis - especially on a BHB.

The Ring of Fire solar eclipse was this morning so I was up bright and early  (much to the dogs’ delight) to get some pics.  A total bust.  The pics looked the absolute same from 6:15 to 7:45 am.  😡

Since yesterday was strawberry & rhubarb pie day, I went to get some rhubarb and low and behold my country market had Nova Scotia strawberries in.  DH and I are not real pie fans so I made a strawberry / rhubarb tart.  DH gave it two thumbs up 👍

@Live4cruisesI saw this last night and thought you might enjoy it as you anticipate your retirement:

Our heat wave is dissipating so lots of work will get done outside today, I hope - unless I get lazy, of course. 😉

Prayers for everyone on the Care list & for those that need them and 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list.

Have a great Thursday everyone!

Good morning, everyone.

Today is another humid day with pop up showers, some pretty strong.   I hope they hold off as Tim is coming to clean out the gutters.   Nothing else on the agenda, but I'm sure I'll find enough to keep me busy.

Lemon drop martinis!  Now there is something to celebrate.  The best I ever had was at the Movenpick in Amsterdam.   I only had one on one other occasion - happy hour aboard a BHB.   As for the daily celebration, I'll take all three.  I use herbs and spices freely in my kitchen.   Like iced tea, especially when I make my own brewed variety.   Ball point pens are a necessity.

Today's meal makes a great appetizer.   The comment said they were pretty messy to eat, but good food usually is.  Perhaps the trick is to slice the mozzarella and tomatoes thinly.

Good Thursday morning.  Thanks for the Daily Report.

Interesting collection of days.  I like ball point pens, herbs and spices and iced tea.  A great trifecta.

I also enjoy a lemon drop martini in the Crow's Nest.

I didn't get to see any of the eclipse this morning, too cloudy.

Looking forward to seeing pictures of today's port.

Prayers to all on the Care List.

Cheers to all who celebrate.

Stay safe.

Good Morning. It is a beautiful start to the day here. I love ice tea but one needs to be careful when ordering it here, In the southern US, they have "sweet tea" which (at least to me) is way too sweet. Specifying "unsweetened ice tea" is how one avoids that.

Food would be boring without herbs and spices,  Lemon Drop martinis are great.

Have a great day!

Thank you for today’s Daily, Rich! Well this is an interesting combination of days! I will celebrate herbs and spices!

Thank you for keeping our lists, Roy! Love that your medical team are pleased with your recovery and are now talking therapy! Most of my doctors tell me the worst case scenario to help manage my expectations. So your excellent health condition and feistiness may result in a reduced period.

Morning Dailyite family! I should whisper this, but there was not a hint of humidity in the air this morning. We had strong Easterly breezes again yesterday. The downside is that other than a bit last week, we have not had any rain of note. I am upping my yard watering schedule to three days a week. Luckily, I have my own well for irrigation.

Lol on the quote. Love lemon drop martinis. The meal sounds like a great appetizer.

*************

De Stefani NV Rive di Refrontolo Brut Nature (Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore)

This Prosecco may lead you on a treasure hunt. No North American online distributors. But if you are lucky, you might find an International distributor that ships to North America. It sounds amazing, and the prices I saw online were in the $15 dollar range. It might be cheaper to visit Italy than pay the cost of shipping though.

93 points Wine Enthusiast, Best World Prosecco

90 points Falstaff

Thus Prosecco represents the essence of the Prosecco in a refined and elegant version. Fragrance, freshness and finesse marries in a very pure expression. It conveys a dry and natural mouthful, showing its maximum integral identity.

Historical Notes

Colvendrame estate, which is on the hills of Refrontolo, between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, a UNESCO Wold Heritage site, in the heart of the "Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita" (DOCG) area for Prosecco. Colvendrame is the name of the hill area where this vineyard is located. It has an excellent exposition to the sun and the climate is ideal for vine growing. The term “Rive" denotes the steep slopes of a hillside, which are considered the best places for growing the Glera grapes.

Tasting Characteristics: fine and persistent perlage, light straw yellow colour, with evident greenish hue. Full width bouquet, with notes of white flowers, lily of the valley and green apple. Dry and harmonious on the palate, it is persistent and pleasantly savory.

Good morning!  Thank you @richwmnfor the Thursday Daily.  Also to @rafinmdfor our two lists, Care and Celebrations.  Good to hear the info from your cardiologist yesterday and that they will be keeping a close eye on you as you do rehab.  I hope you will be back on a ship again very soon.  Thanks also to @Copper10-8for the update of the Nieuw Amsterdam in San Pedro crewing up for next month's cruise.  Very encouraging news!

As for the Ball Point Pen Day, Herbs and Spices Day, and Iced Tea Day I can celebrate each one as necessary and/or enjoyable.   I'll toast with my glass of peach iced tea later.  Martinis?  I've honestly never tried one.

I have also never been to the Amazon River.  We have cancelled at least 3 Amazon River cruises in the past due to conflicts with family plans or other cruises, so I hope the HAL Grand S. America/Antarctica cruise goes as planned because it includes the Amazon River.  See you there Grand Voyagers!

Thank you, @richwmn for the Daily.  😊

I've just been skimming a bit for the past few days -- trying to cut back on internet because of dizziness.   On that front, I'd like to thank @bennybear, @dfish, @Quartzsite Cruiser and@57redbird for sharing their experiences with the Epley maneuver for vertigo.  (If I missed someone, thank you, too!)

I had DH guide me through the procedure and it seems like it worked -- and quickly!  It's so funny, I saw my doctor and have referrals for a heart workup and a kidney specialist, but two minutes of  relocating a crystal in my ear seems to have done it.  What a world!

@rafinmdRoy, I'm sorry you won't be able to visit Alaska this year, but sounds like you are coming along very well, nonetheless.  As my wise mother always said, "When one door closes, another opens up."  I hope some other travel opportunity presents itself to you after you are given permission to get going.  🛳️   ✈️  🌎

Thank you for all our contributors here.  Sending hugs and prayers to those on the care list and will raise a glass to those celebrating.  Also...a warm welcome to new poster @grapau27 .  Welcome aboard!  🌺  🌻  🌹  🌼

Good  morning. It  is  a  nice  collection  of  days. A  million  years  ago  we  practiced  "penmanship " with  old  fashioned  ink  pens. I  had  ink  stains  on  my  uniform,  hands  etc. It  was  a  great  relief  when  ball  point  pens  were  allowed and  I  will  celebrate  their  day. My  cooking  is  enhanced  with  herbs  and  spices. I  made  the  first  shrimp  salad  recipe  yesterday  and  used  fresh  dill  and  capers. It  was  a  huge  household  hit- thanks  to  @dfish. I  would  like  the  recipe  today  but  would  have  to  send  DD  the  rest  as  DH  will  not  eat  certain  vegetables.

Thank  you  to  all  who  celebrated  the  improved condition  of  our  Tana. Of  course,  she  did  too  much  yesterday  and  sounded  very  tired  when  we  spoke  last  night.  She is  truly  touched  by  the  large group  of  people  on  CC  who  are  rooting  for  her. She  has  her  lung  biopsy  on  Monday.

@rafinmd, my  DH  resisted  going  to  Cardiac  Rehab   after   his  bypass  surgery. The  fact  that  I  was  a PT  probably  had  something  to  do  with  it  as  he  is  familiar  with  my nagging  abilities. He  went  for  three  months  and  actually  ended  up  enjoying  it. At  that  time,  the  therapist  did  a  lot  of  monitoring(heart  rate, BP ,O2  sats)  before  progressing  him  to  the  next  level.  We  were  able  to  take a  cruise  to  Bermuda  on  the  Veendam  10  weeks  after  surgery. Hopefully  the  same  can  occur  with  you.

I  have  not  been  to  this  port  but  look  forward  to  seeing  pictures  from  others.

Today will  hopefully  be  the  last  day  of  our  charming  heat  wave.

Thank you Ancient Wanderer for your warm welcome.

We are looking at booking HAL for 2022/23 for the first time having cruised since 2003 on P&O,Princess, Royal Caribbean and NCL.

In my 3 days on this thread I have been made to feel incredibly welcome and it makes us want to book HAL.

My SIL has sailed on Niew Amsterdam and Westerdam and said how lovely they were.

Kindest regards.

Graham.
