Perhaps Bird T felt the same about the ship's usb as well. Being public connection on the ship I always use AC adapter so I am good. You never know if there is a chip or computer device that has a keylogger, or other program that can extract information. It should be safe though to charge headphones, portable charger, or something that doesn't store data. 3

I hope someone will step up and be so kind in July when RCL begins test cruises from US ports. I'll be doing one from Serenade but I'm not on it until August 23rd. I'm sure someone else we be on the first couple sailings.

I have not had time to follow this thread as closely as I would have liked. Thank you very much for sharing your cruise experience. Just wondering is that serious with the lights?? It is a COVID restriction??

Rare BirdTravels Posted June 19, 2021 Author #1057 Share Posted June 19, 2021 (edited) Group numbers under 20 are RCCL a transfers or tours. Luggage was collected from rooms at 10 pm last night and the “baggage hall” to collect your bags will be at the airport. Since there is no space on the small minibuses for bags, self walk off is not available for any tours or transfers. Group numbers over 20 are independent travelers. Bags left out by 10 pm are available at the end of the pier. Not sure what kind of shelter they have set up yet (Festival Place has been demolished and the whole waterfront is a big construction zone). If you are an independent traveler, you can self walk off your bags. But need to lug them all the way down the dock and out,,, also remembering that it rains almost every day in this tropical environment. Everyone must show a copy of your luggage tag to prove that you are eligible to disembark. Edited June 19, 2021 by BirdTravels 2

Rare death_star Posted June 19, 2021 #1059 Share Posted June 19, 2021 What are the breakfast options like today? They still letting you go to the WJ or forcing everyone to do room service? I know plenty of people would indulge in the departure lounge food. Thanks for taking us along bird, safe travels home.

Rare BirdTravels Posted June 19, 2021 Author #1061 Share Posted June 19, 2021 It’s Saturday again. That is how this adventure started. At 6:30, the first groups are off the ship heading back home. Soon it will be time to jump in the car and head off into the sunrise.
Rare BirdTravels Posted June 19, 2021 Author #1062 Share Posted June 19, 2021 (edited) Over the past week, the Adventure of the Seas traveled 1550 nautical miles and called at CocoCay (twice), Cozumel, and Freeport. In Nassau, the ship docked on the starboard side. At all other ports of call, the ship docked on the port side. (The ship will dock in accordance with maintenance and safety requirements). I worked in the Cyber Security field. Paranoia is an important trait. To build on the previous answer, a USB port can make a power connection AND a data connection to your device. Bad guys can do bad things with the data connection part. A wall plug will only be for power. Do a Google search on USB hack. I'd never plug into an unknown USB port. Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you. 😄 Back to Bird's final day. 😞 19

Rare BirdTravels Posted June 19, 2021 Author #1071 Share Posted June 19, 2021 For those not using a ship transfer, you need to walk (with or without your luggage) to the main port entrance. The “baggage hall” is a tent set up on the curb. Taxis are available right outside the gate. r
Rare BirdTravels Posted June 19, 2021 Author #1072 Share Posted June 19, 2021 (edited) For those taking a ship transfer (with or without air), you board your minibus at the gangway and are driven directly to the airport. 20 minute drive from the port to the airport. Can’t be easier. At the airport, the baggage hall is a tent set up in the parking lot right next to the terminal. Rare BirdTravels Posted June 19, 2021 Author #1073 Share Posted June 19, 2021 We’ll,,, Nassau airport probably doesn’t have a 1000 cruises ship passengers leave on the same day very often. There is limited check in and long lines. 4 2

Rare BirdTravels Posted June 19, 2021 Author #1075 Share Posted June 19, 2021 (edited) Departure timeline. 7:55 Leave Stateroom 8:02 off ship and on bus to airport 8:25 Arrive NAS 9:02 Check-in and bag drop complete (using airline Priority Check-in) 9:17 Through security 9:22 Through US Immigrations and Customs and in terminal. The Bird used the Global Entry Kiosk. Add 10 minutes for the customs line. So,,, it was about 90 from stateroom to airport terminal using two priority short cuts. I would allow 2 to 2.5 hours for the entire process. There was no Bahamas immigrations anywhere in this process. The Bahamas immigration card was collected by the airlines.
