cococay cabana price

Price varies somewhere between unreasonable and very, quite, ridiculously expensive.

I prefer my ocean view while I'm actually in the water. Last time it wasn't even worth the effort to get the lounge chair and umbrella because we spent the entire time in the water with a brief time out for lunch.

100% in agreement. We *could* afford it, there is no way in the world we'd pay 1/3 of our family cruise fare for a cabana. We'd rather take that money and donate it to the local food bank and at least have the satisfaction to have helped families in need get a meal on their tables.

I couldn't agree more. When you put it in that perspective that money would go a lot further.

Could you imagine how much MORE satisfaction you would get if you took the thousands of dollars that you're paying towards your cruise and donated it to help even more families in need get a meal on their tables!?

Bad faith snark. Interesting.

I agree, previously paid @ $300 for a water park cabana on coco cay.  Now the cheapest I have seen for my upcoming cruise in OCT is $700. Thanks but no thanks, there are so many nice loungers underneath a palm tree or umbrella that I don’t feel the need for a cabana at those prices.

I don’t fault RC though, they have lost billions over the last year thanks to “St. Fauci” and the CDC so they have to try recuperate the losses somehow.  It’s just like the airlines, the days of supper cheap flights or over, at least in the near future.

DPR

They were charging these high prices before the pandemic and people were willing to pay.

You ever consider that people who cruise might already do that.

It is all relative; but when a Star Class cruiser says the cabana pricing is crazy, you know it is crazy.

Trying to understand how do star class cruiser's talk...........if the price is out of this world do they say is it crazy good or crazy bad?

Crazy in a bad way. The Chill Island cabana we booked 2 years ago, in Canadian funds, is now double the price in US funds. The rest of the cabanas have followed suit. I wouldn’t pay the price for daily admittance to the beach club.  I might have considered it at $59 but not at $159.

Cabana's on coco cay so not worth it.  We do enjoy them on Labadee as they are so much more reasonable. We once had a special bed, but the curtains kept blowing in on us, so the sun protection wasn't good.

Book the Beach club on coco cay instead.  Typically under 99 pp.  Very private area, comfortable seating,  beach access and it includes towels and a delux lunch.

You also have drink service and if you have a package of course all included.

That would be worth it to me for the lunch. I never like the BBQ on any cruise line private island and Royal's  is particularly bad.

The original quote that I was responding to didn't appear but I was responding to a another post on this thread where the poster stated that they would rather take the money for the cabana and donate it to the local food bank while at the same time spending thousands + dollars on their cruise.

If anyone is going on the July 11th cruise can you tell me what the prices are for Thrill Park cabana ?   Haven't  received cabin assignments yet . Daughter really wants to get one for the family.

Are you book with a guarantee? You should be able to access cruise planner as long as you made the deposit and have your reservation number.

There are 8 of us on a floating cabana in Cococay.....we've never done anything like this before....

We all have the beverage package, so how would we tip our concierge?  at the end one lump sum or every time he makes a run for us?  What would be the recommended amount if we do it at the end?

I paid $1199 for the overwater floating cabana the other day.

I'm sure it will be worth it to you...watch for a price reduction...you never know.

I would have no problem booking the overwater if they offered the Thrill Water Park pass (included)...since we're sailing with extended family we booked a TWP cabana there...adding on the extra for the pass plus the overwater price wasn't a good deal for us this time.

ENJOY !!

Whenever I see the exorbitant prices for the overwater cabanas I thumb my nose up and say that I would never pay those prices.  Then I come across pictures of them and immediately start thinking of how I can make extra money to pay for one 🤦‍♀️.

I totally understand where you’re coming from…the only thing stopping me from booking one is that 1) It’s cheaper to upgrade to JS and I won’t even do that, which is a 7-day benefit rather than a 9-hour one, and 2) what if it’s too windy that day or it rains just enough to make it unenjoyable? Truly I would actually prefer the Coco Cub cabanas l, which are on the beach and are $400 less, but the floating cabanas block the view of the ocean from the Club cabanas. At least the floaters have an unobstructed ocean view.

I do the same. And then my husband asks me how many days of OT I would have to work to cover it. As bad as I want to hang out on one of those over water hammocks, I don’t really want to work any overtime this summer.

Ha.. I just pulled back to back double shifts this weekend for 32 hours in 2 days to pay for an excursion I want to do in Alaska.  Last night I swore never again, but I'm sure the next expensive "want" that comes along, I'll be dumb enough to do it again.

I would work all the OT I could get for some AK excursions….We haven’t had much OT since Covid struck (and I was furloughed), but when there is OT available it’s because it will be a horrible shift.

I get that.  However, I work in a hospital that is ALWAYS short staffed. ALL shifts are horrible LOL. Most of the time they ask me to work extra, I decline.  I leave that to the newbies.  This particular want motivated me haha.

I normally would not do it but we had the thrill water park cabana originally as well as some other excursions from a cancelled sailing so I did get the extra 25% bonus credit so it’s not to bad price wise. If I see when it gets closer that the weather will be crap I will have the genie cancel it and go shopping onboard instead.
