Top of my list of anoying😉

I take it as a fellow pin, that you have run into them in a lounge or two 🤣

This couple, though, can give them a run for their money.

Sweet, sweet couple, but will probably make seasoned cruisers cringe. He goes everywhere on Oasis in a wife beater and they wear.......

SHORTS to the MDR every night except formal night.

La Lido Loca - Cruise news and how to cruise when fluffy

EECC Travels - Great for Shore Excursions

ParoDeejay - Just nice easy yo get along with people.

Views and Queues - young couple that are just so adorable together, she's like a cupee doll

Sean and Stef - Most professional and info filled cruise vlogs. Both are professional designers and it shows. He was an Emmy winning visual effects designer and their videos show it.

Alanna Zingano - Great info filled videos and she did a 5 part interview with Super Mario

Plenty of also ran vloggers and a few that I avoid because they are too negative and whining or they will do anything just to get views. cruise to exercise to meal prep to doing an RV life and back to cruising and selling clothing.

Hi folks!

I've been checking out vlogger videos as I research RCI ships I haven't sailed before, and I've learned two things: one, there are a lot more cruise vloggers out there than I realized; and two, I enjoy some of them a lot more than others. 😉

Assuming that they aren't also travel agents (because I know we aren't allowed to name TAs here), who are your favorite vloggers that feature RCI ships? Bonus points for why you like them. 🙂

Thanks in advance!

You can name them if they're travel agents as long as you don't identify them as such.  What you can't do is link to any that is identified as a TA/agency.

I love

Parodeejay, mainly because they're so self-deprecating and come across as real. They're also positive people and you won't hear them whining at all.

Griff and Alyssa because they are just good at it

JJCruise who are fun to watch

Lexloveslos-love all their content and their family. They haven't cruised in awhile, but they want to.  They have a new baby girl so that is limiting right now.  Their two boys have cruised a few times.

I tolerate

Life with Favor-varies because sometimes their content is just boring and I can only watch someone eating GF food and talking about it for so long

EECC-they talk over each other a lot

These are the main ones I watch, but randomly I watch others.  In 28 cruises, we've never run into a vlogger.  We did run into a Disney Vlogger at Epcot one time but at the time he wasn't recording.

With the current cruise content most vloggers are running into each other constantly and including each other in their vlogs as well as linking each other so it's easy to go down a rabbit hole watching videos. Some I just kind of skip through, others I watch all the content. And, some just push their merchandise in every video.

ParoDeeJay - Jay pumps out the vids so fast when they are ON vacation! They are so funny and real.

La Lido Loca - Tony breaks down information so well with all of the facts, doesn't present it one sided.

JJ Cruise - Very upbeat and excited all the time, yet not afraid to say what they dislike.

Parodeejay is cuter than Christmas.  Absolutely adore the two of them, and even the grinches I live with enjoy how sweet those two are.  I hope Dee gets well soon; I admit to tearing up when she teared up in her latest videos about expecting to get torn up by the trolls.  I thought Jay did a really good response to how Dee was treated and providing their timeline for how the 2 of them figured out it wasn't a cold.  😞

La Lida Loca is informative and entertaining, as is Don's Family Adventures.  Both just canceled their Mardi Gras sailings next week. Seeing Parodeejay having their cruise and next cruise ruined by breakthrough Covid also made me decide to cancel all my future Carnival sailings, as did JJCruise deciding they're not going to sail Carnival any longer after the Mardi Gras overcrowding and overcapacity and lack of distancing or mask wearing.

I was considering a last-minute Majestic Princess, and seeing an EatSleepCruise review helped me decide against it, as well as not going for bear/eagle watch excursions where they didn't see any wildlife at all. So it's a good way to get firsthand information and tips, although I haven't seen any vloggers on the Serenade or Ovation to Alaska. TipsForTravellers is great, since he's an older solo traveler like me, although he's limited now as a Brit unable to go on US cruises. I have a crush on EmmaCruises, also a Brit who like me goes for the cheapest inside solo options.

I avoid the ones who are just there to promote their TA business, and they're easy to spot by their used car salesman voice and their one-sided praising of a ship, especially the luxurious suites that you can book by just contacting them and getting exclusive pricing.

I find this quite funny. They all rushed to be on the first Adventure cruise out of Nassau and then everyone did the same thing like all of them were in the pool at the Coc0 Beach Club doing livestreams. You could see the others in the background of the various vloggers.

At least the upside is getting a style vlog you like and not being stuck with someone that grates on your nerves.

Okay, here goes. One more breakdown of some of the top Cruise Vloggers and what I like (and dislike) about each of them. Note that I draw a distinction between what I think is just annoying about the vloggers themselves (too cheerful, too cranky, too boring) and what I dislike about the way they do their videos.

Tips for Travelers - Pleasant and very informative, especially if you are looking at UK based European or river cruises. I am not likely to take many of the cruises that he talks about, but I find his tips intrinsically interesting, and thus, at least mildly entertaining.

Cruise Tips TV - Sherrie is unfailingly cheerful, but not in an annoying way. I think she is likely most valuable to newer cruisers, as she does lots of packing and planning based videos, but I also find her cruise vlogs engaging and informative. She seems just really, really nice!

La Lido Loca - Especially through the pandemic, Tony has emerged as the most informative and even handed purveyor of news relating to pandemic related requirements, legal battles, specific cruise line policies, etc, and he does it in an really entertaining way. I've watched him back when he was mostly just doing cruise vlogs. He has really molded and refined his delivery to be witty, fair, high energy and engaging! Definitely my favorite when it comes to cruise industry news, but also enjoyable as a cruise trip chronicler. Tony makes me laugh out loud more often than any other cruise vlogger.

EECC  Travels - I don't always enjoy their videos, mainly because they sometimes ramble and take a long time to get to the point, and they spend way too much time on reviewing food for my taste. I totally get that for some people, that's what they want to hear about, so that's just a matter of what you're looking for than more than whether they make good videos. That having been said, I think I would enjoy hanging out with them way more than I like the videos. They are friendly and appealing, and I do watch a lot of their videos, so don't get the impression that I hate their videos, I just have a couple of caveats.

Griff and Allyssa - Ditto for almost everything I said about EECC. I must give Griff props for the high quality of his video. B roll and drone footage is way above the average. I find their personalities very appealing, but I often wish they would condense a 20 minute video into a 10 minute video. Again, I feel like they would be a lot of fun to hang out with, but sometimes the videos tire me out.

Emma Cruises - Like Tips for Travelers, it's more applicable to UK based cruising, but Emma is immensely likeable and very informative.

Don's Family Vacations - Don seems like such a nice guy, but he is a bit more prone to rants than I would prefer. He is very informative and I will continue to watch him regularly.

There are more, but I'll have to save them for another post.

Emma Cruises: She's very informative about specific cruise experiences and quite witty.  She's also able to pack a lot of information into a fairly short video.  Emma specializes in budget cruising.

La Lido Loca: Tony is informative on industry happenings and can be really amusing

Tips For Travelers: Gary tends to center on higher-end cruises but is great at giving the details in a no-nonsense way.

Someone asked if we're watching these for entertainment or information, and for me personally it's 98% for information.  Very occasionally I'll find someone that I enjoy and will watch more of their videos for fun (though MelKaps and Travel Cruisers are the only ones I can think of).

Danny from HT is my go-to if I need to know very specific information about a ship (like where to find a fire extinguisher or water bottle filling station on deck 9).

There's one channel that I won't name whose videos are good when it comes to food (showing menus, shots of the actual food, etc.) but it's led to a running joke in our house where every time we have a meat dish we say "it's so tender..."

Problem is most make it a business. Get deals from cruise lines and can write off expenses. They stay in the more expensive cabins, dining venues, etc. You don't get to see enough average person on a budget stuff. Inside cabins etc. Don't find many that keep it real.

I enjoy:

Cruise with Ben and David - they do all brands but have some great RCCL content

CruiseshipsTV - all brands but have very in depth RCCL content

Trev and Chels - they only cruise RCCL and do content for RCCL social media platforms

The Endless Adventure - they travel the world but had a nice Symphony of the seas series

Danny from HT very top notch quality videos and super thorough walkthrough's

Just discovered new bloggers JoJo's world and Kyle Pallo and Nicky Furmage who is currently releasing his Anthem of the Seas series in UK , unique perspective because they have never cruised before.

also dont forget Chris Wong as he is a RCCL casino host who does interesting VLOG's

I love Ben and David!  I usually watch at bedtime but their food reviews make me want a midnight snack lol.   They are so funny!

I spent 3 weeks on the Enchantment with Debra from TravelingWellforLess.com.  She's a delight, and always looking for ways to help people enjoy their cruises.  She also tested out the MDR's ability to still provide good food for food allergies.  She is NOT a travel agent.

I don’t watch Vloggers so I don’t know what you get from them? Is it just for entertainment purposes or to get information or both?

For us it's mostly to get information, especially if it's for a ship that we've not yet seen in person. We like to check out the various rooms to see if we're interested in trying something new, get restaurant reviews, and activities aboard this ship. We mostly watch:

Danny from HT

Don's Family Vacations

La Lido Loca

Chris Wong (fantastic channel!)

Cruise Tips TV
