confirmed.  nice that it is smokeless.  it's on the 4th floor between the dining rooms.  kind of annoying playing with a mask on, but if you want to gamble smokeless it's great.

and as long as I have a drink should be ok.. I will walk in with one in my hand..

It unfortunately makes economic sense since the revenue generated by gamblers is number one to the economic bottom line feasibility, with alcohol sales and then excursions.

I understand that.  Airlines don't require testing before boarding because it would cut down on travelers and income, so there is definitely a financial incentive to not always put health first.  Life moves on and people can accept the risks.  Vaccinated people should realize that their status does not protect them from the virus, so they should consider that when flying, spending time in a casino, and other high risk places.  I don't have any issue with people being able to accept the risk.

No surprise there other than the possibly the tiki bar. I think they have two tvs there that were always on carnival stuff last week. Of course you aren't allowed to be in the casino if you aren't gambling anymore. Summer Landing is pig & anchor which is the closest thing they have to a sports bar no so no surprise.

Is there a dive-in movie? That makes it interesting if there's a movie on the big screen and football on at the tiki bar.

That would be the common sense approach during a pandemic.  More and more vaccinated people are getting and spreading the virus, so these 95% vaccinated cruises aren't as immune to spreading as once thought.  The testing for everyone goes a long way, but allowing smoking indoors during a pandemic makes no sense.

Just eliminate the smoking in the casino , there are other outside places on the ship where one can smoke if they so choose

This is no surprise since so many of the Vista crew members who worked in the casino got covid.  That area seems like high risk for spreading the virus.

Or it could simply be they taking breaks together. Outside of public areas, the staff don't have to mask.

Somewhat relevant to casino bars being closed...I just got off the Breeze a few hours ago, and the casino waitstaff was great.  They must have really upped the staff numbers.  I've never had as fast of service in a casino on a ship or on land.  Both casinos.

I did see a first in  the casino.  Someone brought their own bluetooth speaker and set it next to their slot machine and cranked it up. 🙄

I would have said to the person that's not appropriate.

Gone are the days of entertainment at the casino bar too.  I used to like it when they had a person playing guitar and singing and just sitting in the chairs near the bar.

I hated that.  It was always extremely loud.  When passing by the casino, I was always forced to choose between plugging my ears to not blow out my eardrums or covering my nose and mouth to avoid the smoke.  Passing by the casino is frequently the quickest and least mind numbing way to get from the aft dining room to the theater.

So, I’m a little confused about how the safe shoreside experiences is worded. It says vaccinated guests can participate in carnival-operated tours and independent sight seeing but then it goes on to say guests can only debark if booked on a carnival-sponsored bubble tour.

how does that work? My group booked a 3rd party catamaran in Cabo a ways back we are all vaccinated. Does that mean we have to cancel and book a carnival catamaran instead? Assuming they offer one… I’m a newbie here so I apologize.

It will be interesting to see if they do that because it seems to me that was on the ships that didn't have an Ocean Plaza.

They're referring to unvaccinated guests who must take a bubble tour.

I don't remember it being loud usually just a guitar player not a whole band but I like music playing in the background but not real loud.

Yes it was the older ships.

On the smaller ships out of Tampa, there was usually a full band playing outside the casino.  It drew quite a crowd, and really was a lot of fun.  I don't mind music and liveliness when I am at the casino.

The casino staff on Vista expect you to slip n sip.  You pull your mask down just enough to take a drink, then pull it back up.

I was playing roulette on Magic with a cocktail in hand and instructed to "sip and cover".  Interesting that when we were seated at a table for 8 in MDR for breakfast and not instructed to wear a mask, even though I didn't know the other six people and I was so close to the person next to me, I could have been seated in his lap.  I wonder why we were seated this way since there were plenty of other tables to spread us out.
