They are waterproof.

Also, on the 10/2 sailing, they had a *hard* time opening the YC door (cabin door was fine...just the door to get into the YC).

alyssamma, I had the same issue with the bands on my YC cruise in August.  The doors from the Solarium area into the YC on deck 15 were definitely problematic.

Thank you for the info.

Yes, the wristband doesn’t always work opening certain doors.

I couldn’t open the door to YC pool deck 19 after walking up the stairs from deck 18.. coming back from the jogging track on deck 16.

RE: Internet.

Internet access is included in YC for 2 devices.. to be precise 2 devices per person.. *smile*

Speed is surprisingly faster via SatelliteInternet@Sea compared to cruises pre-pandemic in Europe.

Login was easy.. connected to WiFi and registered on mscwifi.com.

We were 50/50 opening up YC door.  Room normally fine.

Other than maybe Divinia, keycard or band never worked on those doors for us on Mera or Seaside.  Maybe too much salt water.

I was so thrilled with my August 27 sailing on Meraviglia that I have booked a seven-day cruise on her in January (9-16) for my son's first-ever cruise.  I also absolutely loved the YC experience.  Found it much better than NCL Haven IMHO.

See you there! I'm on that cruise with my niece and nephew-in-law. We were supposed to go to Europe, but that seems like too big a stretch right now.

Just off the Meraviglia (Oct 9th sailing).  The YC doors were problematic with the wristband, but the card always worked.  Same with the room door, it worked a bit better than the YC doors.   For some reason it worked flawlessly when paying for things in the shops (coincidence??).   🙂

One of the things they are seriously lacking is YC merchandise.   While there is a MSC merchandise store, there was nothing available specifically for YC.   No YC mugs, hats, t-shirts, shirts... nadda.  We would have dropped a few bucks on some stuff, but it simply wasn't available.  Someone in marketing dropped the ball on this!

Wow! How long can they survive on 25% capacity?

Their cash flow must be deep red. Consider how many FCC are sitting out there.

Their primary business is shipping (Med Shipping Co = MSC), so I think they are good for a while 🙂

I noticed the same thing. (Oct 2nd) I did see a lady with a YC hat and a YC Polo. Never did ask her where she got them. My guess would be she works for MSC, on a ship in Europe or she got them from a crew member. I would have picked up a hat and a polo, maybe 2.

At the moment there is really only one source of YC logoed gear that I am aware of.  Two private individuals (not MSC) have it produced as gifts, principally for YC crew members.

Sailed on the October 2nd sailing of Meraviglia in The Yacht Club so probably the same staff. I will agree with SirWolf 100%. We had around 1200 people on our sailing and YC was at 80% capacity. Loved our Maitre D' and the Sommelier. Went out of their way to please. Had a few Italian wines not on the list presented to us to try. During breakfast ( I had steak and eggs every day, not on the menu)The Sommelier would come over to our table and tell us he had a surprise for us tonight. Offered some awesome dessert wines also.

He was awesome.  Big Labrador lover also.

Impression so far after being 24 hours on the ship.. 10 out of 10

Service in YC is over-the-top superb..

YC Crew is very attentive..

Food in YC restaurant is very good..

It feels good to be back at sea..

My husband and I were also on this cruise in the YC. Agree, it was a wonderful cruise and so happy we decided to keep our booking. Our only regret is not making it a B2B.

Agree internet was surprisingly fast. I'm glad we decided to give it a try first without upgrading. I was able to anything on social media, and did several FaceTime audio and video calls from different areas of the YC, and it was flawless.

Ditto here, except I booked her again for an 8-day S. Caribbean (Bonaire, Curcao) repo cruise (Miami to Pt. Canaveral), Nov 20-28, 2021 (Thanksgiving cruise). I didn't go into the YC last time but I have a upgrade bid to go into a YC Interior suite this time. Fingers crossed 🤞. I tell you what, this ship (MSC Meraviglia) is a beauty and the price of the cruise was a bargain; BIG bang for your buck! (Thanks for the tip on the price of that cruise btw @GA Dave).

Jules, so happy to hear you had a great cruise.

Was wondering how it all went and happy  you were able to go.
Sounds like it was what you both were hoping for.

We are also going ahead with ours and everything seems to be falling into place.

Thanks for the info on internet . That was one thing I was debating on upgrading. Sounds like it will be just fine for what we need to do.

Now we have the hard part….waiting. 🛳🏝

It was even better than we imagined. Everything went flawlessly, from flights, the COVID testing at MIA (pricey, yes, but convenient and out in 15 minutes with our printed results), our 2 nights at the InterContinental Hotel in Miami, and boarding in the YC. My husband and I were the 3rd and 4th guests to board the ship at 10, and our room was ready. Meraviglia is a stunning ship, we loved it!

My Husband and I are on the 1/16 cruise in the YC, as well. Can't wait! Countdown is almost to 30 days!
