On the NSDM in Nov 19 one player won over $140,000 in jackpots. I play both BJ and slots. I won over $40,000 in jackpots. I remember you mentioned on ur cruise you heard a few small jackpots were announced. I would be willing to bet her roll thru the machines had to be over $500 grand to win that much. I am sure I rolled over $250 grand thru the slots. I am sure my wife rolled $50 grand through them. From a business perspective do we inconvenience a few people for a few weeks when the casino spend in one day is probably equivalent to the normal casino spend in one month. Each slot machine in the Ocean Bar will make more money for HAL in one day than the Ocean Bar makes for them in a month. If you owned HAL what would you do? I think that at the very least HAL should have notified everyone currently booked on one of these slot tournament sailings and given them the option of either cancelling without penalty or receiving extra OBC ($100 pp, maybe) to compensate them for the inconvenience. You're welcome....I know there wasn't this much complaining when HAL removed the Sports Bar from the ships. And that was jammed all day.

prescottbob Posted November 13, 2021 #159 Share Posted November 13, 2021 Interesting. ’Temporary’ slots for upcoming casino cruises. A need to request AM & PM cabin services versus once per day (@ approx. $ 15 / pp / day regardless of request. and more for suites these days) which I would assume will be increased soon & the lack of wine service in the MDR appears to be the new “norm” for HAL among other ‘nickel and diming’ changes. Too bad really , but the CCL balance sheet certainly needs affirmative tweaking, as it were, to survive. No downer here, we have a couple HAL cruises lined up for Fall 2022 that adds up to 80 days. Unfortunately for HAL’s cash flow, they’re based on prior FCC’s. I only hope for the best. Be well Bob 2

Seems like everyone who has reported back after sailing is signed on to sail again -- slots or no slots. I know we are. Life is pretty good on a HAL ship right now.

Correct...no smoking in the casino on the Eurodam. That is why HAL doesn't run their big tournaments on any ships other than the 3 new ones.

For those overly concerned about the Ocean Bar ambience come up to the Sea View bar area and wait 30 minutes for service. Don't try and order a diet coke though because they were nowhere to be found yesterday. Hopefully they got some on the ship today. This is by far the worst experience we have ever experienced on all of our HAL cruises. We are hoping like the slot machines in the Ocean Bar it is a one off.

Understand your thought. The cruise industry has been in the doldrums before and survived. Maybe, not as deep as what the pandemic put it, but, the view then was not promising. Gloria Gaynor's rendition of I Will Survive has been my theme song for many recent years. Such a message of expectation applies to the cruise industry at this time as well in my opinion. The cruise industry will survive. And, HAL will do so as well.

Coca-Cola seems to have distribution/production issues in the last couple of months.
