Garry and Arlona ~ I seldom post but I wanted to say how much I enjoyed following your fascinating journey to such exciting locations! I would read your blog every evening and relay interesting tidbits to my husband. We also have a love of travel and your blog really has enticed us to look into a longer cruise than my husband would have previously considered. Thanks for all your time, effort and enthusiasm!

Thank you Garry and Arlona for bringing us along on this epic, impromptu Viking journey.  I am pretty sure we will never experience a cruise of this length, so I thank you for virtually taking me along with you to places I have never even dreamed of going.  The humor didn't hurt either!

All the best to you both on your future travels, and hope that our paths will cross.

Adding my thanks to Garry and Arlona (and the other bloggers) for allowing us to go with you on your voyage.  Enjoyed every day’s adventures and especially your great attitude, wonderful pictures and descriptive writing.  Best wishes and hope to cruise with you some day!

Garry - Please post a link to your Princess Cruise here so "Your Followers" can find it.  We did two weeks on the Emerald in April.  Hopefully you are not too disappointed with the food.

My blog address is kolbsontheroad.blogspot.com

Everything will be there. And, after the WC, I think everything will be a disappointment.

Thank you Garry. I have been followering your adventures since the beginning last year. All the best with your upcoming cruise on Princess.

Princess has just started cruising again after Covid here in Australia and we hope to rejoin them (20+ Princess cruises so far) for 28 nights in Oct/Nov.

We have been on numerous Princess cruises. Nothing will compare to our WC. Be prepared for lots of kids, noisy casino, lots of drunks and ok food. It would be better to compare it to RC or Carnival. Viking is in its own class. We are doing the Viking from Bergen to New York next summer and doubt it will compare to our WC.

We're doing 5 of the 6 cruises that make up Viking's Grand Pacific Explorer next September. I think it will be more like Homelands and Scenic Scandinavia we're. The second two cruises were certainly different than the WC. The menu went from WC amazing to Viking standard very good. Plus, there was a different vibe than when all the world Cruisers were on the ship.

Does next September mean 2022?  If so hopefully you’re still aboard for the Hong Kong to Bangkok segment.  Need to buy you a drink for all the vicarious pleasure you provided via your WC blog.

No, that would be "this" September. 😀

We sail in September 2023 for this trip.

I have lived in the Caribbean for 25 years now.  People come down here to party not for the culture.

Hello, Idpetrillo. On a Viking sailing which begins in Bergen, just learned that there is a one-stop into Bergen from Frankfurt. Used to be two stops into Bergen on Lufthansa. Just fyi.

Is this World Cruise "live" thread going to continue and become the 2023-24 cruise?  It was fun to follow you, Garry and Arlona and I'll keep checking here to get the rest of the story if you'll be here.  Otherwise, please start a new "Live from" when the time comes!  Thanks so much for all the entertainment you and several others provided over these long months of scarce travel.

I don't expect that it will.  We aren't booked for another world cruise but will be blogging future travel at kolbsontheroad.blogspot.com - the next cruise starts in one week!

Negative, we will start a new Live 22/23 World Cruise thread.

This is a fantastic read. We are on the Passage to India cruise in 2023 (in reverse though) and so many of the excursions in Egypt, Jordan and Israel are must do ones. But we are only in a DV4 and I'm concerned these excursions will all be booked out before we have access. How do you think we will go?

We were in a DV4 on our last cruise and had no issues getting the shore-ex we wanted.

That's great to know. We did miss out on one on an Alaskan cruise but we managed that but Egypt and Jordan sound tricky.
