I'll get this thread started as we prepare to board the Emerald on Saturday.  We will be onboard for this 15 day, Full Panama Canal transit and also the following voyage, 14 day Caribbean.

In July of 2007, while on vacation in Italy, we were fortunate to tour the new Emerald and have lunch in the MDR while the ship was docked in Livorno.  Since that day, the Emerald has been our favorite Princess ship.  We have had many great experiences while cruising on the Emerald and are very excited to be back onboard!

Many of us on this cruise received the below "Emergency Notification" expecting it to be regarding re-testing us at the terminal prior to boarding.  But, it was a somewhat of a generic notification. We still do not know if we will be tested before boarding?

Let's hope that the port of call in Cartagena on Feb. 24 is a go now as the 1/28 - 2/12 sailing was skipped. 🤞

It's a real bummer that the planned San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua on Feb. 19 was still a no-go. 😡

Will be heading to our local CVS in a couple of hours for our Covid test.

That was our back-up, which is about an 45 minute drive from here.  We cancelled it as soon as we finished our home test.

For anyone that might still have an "expired test" that was given a three month extension letter (from Dec, 2020), our proctor verified that the test was still valid.  Hope this helps to know for those who are still using the extended expiry kits  🙂

Had our CVS test and have received Negative results!  Now to finish packing!

We also just finished our Abbott proctored tests. Saved to our phones and also made hard copies. It's really gonna happen!!!!

We are on the Emerald Princess now and was notified yesterday that our Covid test before 12 Feb will be on 11 Feb at 4pm in the Conference Room.  Received the phone call from Medical Center instead of a letter to our room.   Guess they are setting up group testing appointments as not that many are staying on.  Haven't received our turn around letter yet but will probably get it tonight.

I keep reading trip reports re Cartagena but no one mentions the gold altar at the monastery on the top of the hill - our guide told us that once a year women go up the hill (long windy road) on the knees praying to become pregnant.  The altar was the highlight of our stop there.  Otherwise (this was many years ago so it might be different now) we were assaulted by beggars and people selling things down in the town/city.

Enjoy your cruise!

I can't believe it's finally here!  After booking it back in 2020 ("Surely this will all have passed by then..."), going through Delta, and then through Omicron, anxiously watching for the dreaded cancellation email... the excitement of booking excursions and checking-in, the nervous 15 minutes waiting for the pink line of doom to appear on our pre-departure covid tests....

IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING!  WE'RE GOING CRUISING!!! 🛳️  🎉

Has anyone been able to get the "Health Status" done? The one that needs to be done within 24 hrs. of boarding? Ours is still grayed out with a message "Check back closer to journey date".

We had no issues with ours, we are in the Green Lane...
