It’s quicker to just put it all in your medallion in the casino and take it to the cashier. Do that for non refundable, too.

Don't be too quick!! You are supposed to play at least a little before you cash out.

Maybe, put it all in, play a little, leave. Come back the next day, play a little, leave or cash out.

We never cash out until we are heading back to the room on the final night.

If you enjoy flowers you can purchase a flower arrangement for your cabin when you board the ship. I got this idea from someone else on CC and I’m planning to do this on our next cruise. I was told you can purchase the flowers at the Guest Services desk and they have different arrangements to choose from. We also like to use our OBC to purchase shore excursions before we sail.

I do isn’t know that was available - definitely a good suggestion, Thanks!

uh oh - if I get flowers for Mom, I’m gonna have to get them for my wife too!  🙂

@WAvoyager and fellow Washingtonian-  Thank you for starting this thread. We also will have a nice sum of OBC for our May cruise.

Does anyone know how to use the OBC for shore excursions before boarding? I would love to know. Thanks!

Just go into the Cruise Personalizer and select the excursions you want. When paying, you can apply the onboard credit that is in your name. If you want to use the OBC that two people have, book some of the excursions under each person's Personalizer sign-in.

Or call Princess and book with a rep and tell the repo you want to use the OBC.

Thanks @caribill!

The OBC does not appear on our account main page, but I will try your suggestions.

Can I call Princess directly, even though we have a TA?

Look under the Payments tab in the Personalizer. OBC should show up there.

When booking anything for onboard including shore excursions, you can call Princess even if using a TA.

If you have a TA booking, Princess will not deal with anything involving the cruise fare and associated fees or cabin changes.

Thanks! Good news... I will post the outcome when I decide that we will be booking a certain shore excursion through them. (usually go private, with a few exceptions).

Wishful thinking and good idea, but no.  FCD is charged to your credit card...not onboard account.

Isn't Onboard Account different than Onboard Credits? I'm the "old" days before Princess Plus, we would charge purchases to our cabin (On board account).

On the other hand, our NOV is money already there waiting to be spent.

Thoughts and explanations?

FCC is not considered part of the sailing's revenue, so it can't be on your cabin's account.

What if it was MY cash that contributed to it... Like all of the craziness in the last two years when they would NOT refund my deposit but would only transfer it to OBC?

I can’t answer your question, as I have no context. Any of our FCC that went unused by the deadline was refunded to us by check automatically.
