dawntrdr Posted March 14, 2022 #102 Share Posted March 14, 2022 I don't get it. Why is lunch under the lifeboats a special treat for WCers? You can dine al fresco just about anywhere on the ship.
jollyjones Posted March 14, 2022 #103 Share Posted March 14, 2022 Presumably WCers already have dined al fresco everywhere else, it’s a gimmick for amusement, I’d reckon. It’d amuse me, you can’t dine there any other time.

And I think the answer is likely that it's unique — simply something different to break up the days on a 20-week cruise.
nowornever Posted March 15, 2022 #105 Share Posted March 15, 2022 We had one on a Grand Voyage & I kept looking up to make sure the lifeboats were still firmly secured a la Phantom of the Opera. Visions of a horror movie at sea in the making.
Rare Silver Spectre Posted March 15, 2022 Author #106 Share Posted March 15, 2022 (edited) Today we have arrived at our first Seychelles stop, La Digue. We are only here for 5 hours, so that a max of about 3.5 hours ashore, and then we relocate to Praslin. One of the most beautiful islands I've ever seen. Impressive that such a big ship could land passengers there.

It was a relatively short tender ride and the island has changed a lot since we were there in 1985.

Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted March 17, 2022 #119 Share Posted March 17, 2022 Maybe you could walk by with a sticky-sweet drink in you hand and accidentally dribble if over their stuff. That would even more likely get you thrown off, but it might be worth it!
