Good morning from SW Florida, another beautiful day with a high of 85.

The quote makes a whole lot of sense

I love chocolate and nuts but not chocolate covered nuts.

Not sure what the meal is.

Have an offer from HAL on our upcoming cruise, offering us Club Orange for 25 dollars a day per person, is this a good deal? We have never tried Orange before.

Off to the Golf Course soon for a Men's Day Scramble.

Hope everyone is well.

Thank's for The Daily.

Good morning.  Thanks for the Daily Report.

It's snowing again.

Yum, chocolate covered peanuts.🙂  I think we all need a quiet day, I hope Ukraine gets one.🙏  I hope we all eat right and not just chocolate covered peanuts and wine.😉

Love the quote.

I'm not sure what today's meal suggestion is, I'll have to wait to see the recipe.

The drink of the day sounds good, so does the wine.

We are scheduled for a cruise that leaves from Rotterdam in August. 🤞

Prayers for everyone.

Stay safe.

Thank you for the TGIF Daily, Rich.  3 great days today,  but the not so great day is disembarkation day.  Love the quote, never heard of the meal.  Been to Rotterdam a few times and loved it.  I don't have an alternate meal suggestion today; well, perhaps grilled ham and grits for breakfast.  The photo is last night's fruit salad, Rack of Lamb, and Cherries Jubilee.

Good afternoon.

45°F and sunny here.

Thank you for today's daily and fleet reports Rich.

Thank you Roy for today's lists.

I love chocolate peanuts and have been lucky to have been a  chocolate representative for various companies for over 35 years.

I am all for a quiet day.

We will be popping down to the beach shortly with a coffee and snack and will be looking out to sea.

I'm not sure about the food but a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is my favourite.

We have been to Rotterdam several times on cruise ships and not been over Impressed much preferring Amsterdam.

Prayers 🙏 for everyone on the care list and also for the innocent people of Ukraine.

Take care and hopefully have a good day everyone.

Graham.

We have drizzle my disembarkation morning on the Enchantment of the Seas but I'm posting sunrise from another cruise out of Baltimore.  This is February 25, 2013, my first ever sunrise from the Carnival Pride:

Thanks for our TGIF Daily, Rich.

Great collection of days.  Love chocolate covered nuts - not sure if that qualifies on Let’s All Eat Right day 😉.  Seriously eating right is so important as is escaping noise, finding quiet and your inner zen.

Love that quote by Tagore - so true!  Think I’ll have to wait for Debbie’s description on the meal recommendation for today.

Nice to see a white wine on the list today - especially one from New Zealand.  Looking forward to Cat’s description.

Love the port of the day.  Was so looking forward to returning to Rotterdam this spring but now that will have to wait until next year.  So much to see there & Always fun to arrive there by cruise ship.  A good view of the old Rotterdam (now a hotel) and the Hotel New York (HAL’s old headquarters) if you are in the right spot.

More snow today - the weekend must be here 🙄. We’re not supposed to get that much but every time they say that, we get dumped on 😔

@rafinmdsorry to hear it is disembarkation day. 😔 Safe travels!

I am going to try to do some serious advocating today - and hopefully have some success and let the robins appearing give me hope that the groundhog was wrong and we will have an early spring.

Prayers for everyone on the Care list & special prayers for the people of Ukraine & for those that need them and 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list.

Have a good Friday everyone !!!!!!

Thank you for today’s Daily, Rich! Thank you Roy for taking care of us while cruising. Hope your cruise was everything you hoped it would be.

Praying for the Ukrainian people and the courageous people of Russia who are peacefully protesting the attacks. I have protested many an injustice in my lifetime, but I am not sure I would be brave enough to do protest in Russia.

A bit foggy here earlier, but the sun has already burned through. Another beauty. A few early chores.  More yard clean up. Then my 14 year old great nephew is going to give me a tour of his clean bedroom. Trust me - it was a Herculean task. 😎

Any Trekkies out there?

The great news about this New Zealand SB is that all released vintages share the same excellent ratings. I used the info from the 2020 vintage just because it might be the easiest to find. Numerous online distributors with prices starting at $12.88.

Winemaker Notes

This is an elegant wine with intense tropical and stone fruit aromatics with delicate citrus and floral notes, full flavored and textured. The wine has fine mouthwatering mineral acidity on the finish that refreshes the palate, leaving you longing for more.

WE91 Wine Enthusiast

This is a strong vintage of this wine. It’s clean, refreshing and balanced, neatly weaving grass, bell pepper, passionfruit, pineapple rind and white pepper aromas together. There’s a crunchy tang and a fresh fruit finish. Marlborough savvie bee at its most thirst quenching. Terlato Wines International.

WS90 Wine Spectator
Tangy, intense, mouthwatering notes of Key lime, pomelo, passion fruit and apricot jump out of the glass, with accents of hops and lemongrass on the finish.

Good morning all my Daily friends, from a cool gray morning in VA.

Many thanks to all for the good wishes - we made it down here by about 6:30 last night without issues.  There was some 'wintry mix' as we left NJ, and heavier rain through some areas of MD but overall not bad.  Much happier having traveled yesterday as the weather further north appears rainy, cold and perhaps areas of ice.

Our daughter and her husband were so happy to have us here now, though I think my granddog Dean might have been the happiest of all.  He knows he's got some daily play time with his Grampy and he'll get lots of long walks to the park with me.  My daughter has their hospital bags all packed, and the house is about as ready as it can be for a newborn to arrive.  Just a waiting game now...will keep you all posted.

Peanut M&M's are my vice as far as chocolate covered nuts.  Love a quiet day every now and then, but I don't think today will be one of them.  I'll give eating right a shot today - a nice low fat yogurt and banana for breakfast, and maybe a salad for lunch.  Not sure what today's meal is so will wait for the recipe.  Not a mojito fan but would certainly enjoy a glass or two of today's wine - New Zealand is one of my favorite regions for wines.

@rafinmd disembarkation day is always a sad one - hope it goes smoothly and you get home safely.

@ger_77 wishing you and your DH the best as his procedure approaches and hoping all goes well.

@Sea Vieweralso sending good thoughts for your DH - I tend to agree about people missing out on so much preventive care due to COVID and wonder just how this will affect long-term health of those who may have missed out on critical warning signs and early diagnosis.

@marshhawk I loved your post about angels, and putting the Dailiyites in that category.  This group is the most friendly and supportive I've ever encountered, and I truly feel the care, concern and celebration of life through each and every one of you.  Blessed to know you all, even if it is only through a keyboard and computer screen.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Good morning, everyone.

Looks like I got out of last night's storm in a lucky way.  There is a dusting of snow on the driveway and that is it.  The street looks a little slick, but traffic is moving easily.  It could have been so much worse.  I am thankful I don't have to go shovel this morning.

I'll celebrate all three days.   Chocolate covered peanuts can be healthy in moderation, especially if they are covered in dark chocolate.  I'm all for a quiet day.  I don't understand the need of some to have constant noise.  I can be perfectly content in a quiet home.

Today's meal is one I will skip.  I do thank Rich @richwmn for broadening our horizons and introducing us to new culinary adventures, but I draw the line at raw fish.

So what is kinilaw?

It is not actually the dish but the process of preparing it. It hailed from the Visayan region and is derived from the word, kilaw, which means raw or uncooked. The meat, normally a fish, is 'cooked' without the application of heat but is rather cured in vinegar.

Additional souring agents like calamansi, kamias, tamarind, or green mangoes to enhance its tartness.  To complete the dish, black pepper, onions, ginger, and chili peppers are also added.

1825563113_Kinilaw1.thumb.jpg.947c62016c1e95def3ddbf5eae27f872.jpg

Kinilaw is sometimes called Filipino ceviche, but it differs from ceviche as the fish is cured in vinegar and ceviche uses citrus fruits.  This next recipe uses sushi grade tuna and coconut vinegar.  https://www.thekitchn.com/kinilaw-recipe-23177759

This next one includes tomatoes, red onions, coconut milk, and mango.  Cook the fish and I'm in.  https://www.seriouseats.com/kinilaw-5193131

1681032287_Kinilaw3.thumb.jpg.135a24ad1d3038e624da7b3e25269427.jpg

Prayers for the people of Ukraine.  My alternative quote for today comes from Martin Luther King, Jr.  We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools. Martin Luther King, Jr.

War.thumb.jpg.988f19b8da6d16fb988be06cd8dcfce3.jpg

Prayers for all in need and cheers to those who are celebrating.  May you all have a wonderful day.

Good Friday morning.  Love chocolate covered most anything, but especially nuts.  Would love to eat right, but like too many things that aren't.  I like the quote, but can do just that.  The Captain is doing all the work.

Googled the meal and will pass.  Do not eat anything raw.

Have not been to the destination, looking forward to the photo's.

Prayers and toasts to our lists.

Please continue to stay safe, social distance, and wear your mask.

Good morning, thanks for the Daily!  DH loves chocolate covered peanuts - I love the chocolate alone.  Many days are quiet days around our house, although I like having the radio on for background noise.  If it includes chocolate, most days are Let's Eat Right Day around here.  LOL

Not a lot going on around here today, although the weather is going to smarten up quite a bit.  Right now we've got a temp of  -23C, but our daytime high should go up to -7C, which for February is quite nice.  Not sure if it's going to bring in another snow drop, but with the condition of near drought last year, we can use any additional moisture.  We will likely do a quick grocery run to pack in some supplies so we don't have to go anywhere.  Now that DH's appointment has been made, we're going to try to isolate so we don't end up testing positive when he goes in for the angiogram.

We're watching a lot of TV these past couple of days, praying for the people of Ukraine.  Wars are a terrible thing; I've often said the leaders of the country should have to duke it out, rather than putting the lives of thousands on the line to do their bidding.

@Sea Viewer, I hope your DH is doing well this morning.

I'm not sure about today's menu suggestion, as I have no idea what it is!  For us, it's Friday night pizza night, so we'll be perusing the menus to see what appeals to us.  It'll be pizza on the table tonight.  And wine.

Prayers for everyone who needs them and even for those who don't think they do.  Extra prayers for the people of Ukraine for their safety.  We'll raise our glasses and cheer on all making up the celebration list.  Stay safe, wash your hands, wear your masks when you need to, be well, get your boosters, and keep warm!

Smooth Sailing!  🙂🙂🙂

Good morning Dailyites!  I've calmed down now....got some sleep, I wont attack any countries today, whew.

Happy Friday!  DH's campaign got postponed again, until Monday.... So he's been without his job for more than a month,  I know even though he complains about working, he does miss it.  Next week I will stat working a split shift.  I will start something like laundry, put it in the wash, and then forget about it all day until about bed time.  Thinking I need to start doing some exercise, reading, and enjoying a few hours each day.  So I will work 1-5, then take a few hours off, and go back to work 8-10.  I am so hoping to go back to eastern time zone jobs.

@rafinmd I hope that you had a wonderful cruise,  thanks for posting each day, and thank you for the cruise food porn.

Ok, chocolate covered anything, is pretty good.  Tried ants once, luckily the chocolate amount was greater than the ant amount, so they were doable.  LOL. Chocolate covered peanuts are good,  but not my favorite chocolate covered nut, that would be almonds.  Yum.

Last night someone mentioned that we should add a few more options to our like buttons.  I want to add  "awww!"  , "LOVE", "please forward that food to me" , and "Yummy".

I wont eat raw things.  Except for carrots, lettuce and cucumbers.  I know that chemically these foods are "cooked" , but the word "chemically" kind of turns my tummy.

Your question about CO depends on the ship. Pinnacle class seems like a great deal especially if you can get a cabin upgrade. We are on NS in a suite. We dine in CO daily for breakfast and several dinners. Food is hot and the special dishes are prepared in the open kitchen. Any other ship the CO in the main dining is sub par. Same wait staff same kitchen.

Good morning. The iceman cometh again and the trees front steps and sidewalks  are ice covered. The temperatures  will rise as the day goes on so it should be much better soon. Our first dog walk was done by DSIL,thank goodness.

Our house is sometimes  quiet and I enjoy it. I will salute the other days and have not been to the port.I will pass on the recipe but enjoyed seeing Walter Cronkite,Debbie @dfish!

@Sea Viewer,I hope your husband has been able to have the procedure.I am sure you are both exhausted.

@kazu,Jacqui  I hope your efforts are rewarded today. It has been such a long and difficult  time for both of you. I hope that Marley  is doing as well as possible  too.Sending hugs and prayers.

Today  DSIL and a wonderful neighbor are getting Tana down the outside stairs in her travel WC.She is seeing the pulmonoligist  and DD is taking her.It is WC accessible  at this appointment. She remains on continuous  oxygen  and has had some issues especially  at night.I hope the Doc has some encouraging  news for her.

Good Morning from a sunny and warm day at the beach

I will pass on todays meal and have not been to  todays port. I prefer chocolate covered raisins to nuts. I very much enjoy staring out at the ocean. It is very soothing.

We have our annual golf tournament coming up in a few weeks. I did not play last year because I had just lost my brother and golf partner. My nephew and son have convinced me to play in the tournament this year. We will see how it goes, have to put a foursome together.

Off to water aerobics this morning.  I may stop that until after Easter. There are just too many people. Not enough room to spread out.

       Stay safe and enjoy today

Good morning friends!  Another warm morning so we took off on another 3 mile walk around the neighborhood.  I notice on this particular walk we can hear a rooster crow repeatedly when near a road on the outside edge of our development.  Someone across the road there has a very vocal rooster!  Glad I can't hear that from my house!🐓

Since I didn't hear anything from my brother yesterday I asked my twin if she had heard anything, and she said no.  We're hoping no news is good news.  But I think we will have to ask later today and find out if Jen is doing better or not.  I know he is depressed and worried about her and we don't want to add to his stress.  Thanks Roy @rafinmdfor including her on the Care list.  Prayers for all our people included on that list.  You know we are thinking of you all and praying for improvement.  Meanwhile, cheers to those with happy news.  Thanks Rich @richwmnfor compiling the Daily each morning.  We are all so happy to have this place to gather.  I join with all of you praying for the people of Ukraine.  This is so unfair!

I love chocolate covered peanuts!  But like Connie @msmayorpeanut M&Ms are my favorite!  While on Celebrity Constellation (our only Celebrity cruise) in 2014 we hated the food served onboard.  I lost 4 pounds in 16 days.  My favorite stop after lunch each day was the ice cream place because they had containers of peanut M&Ms.  I'd ask for a bowl of those delicious M&Ms and happily snacked on them.  Otherwise I'd have lost 5 pounds!  I always enjoy a quiet day.  And let's all eat right day sounds like a good idea, but I wish us all luck in getting that goal accomplished!  As for kinilaw for a menu suggestion, uh just NO!!  Absolutely not.  The New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc sounds wonderful though.

We were in Rotterdam one time and took a tour out of the city, but I have a few photos to share so will do that next.  Everyone have a wonderful day!

Good morning from windy Eastern Caribbean. NS is heading towards Phillipsburg and the ship creaked and bumped all night.

Prayers for those in Ukraine, free world leaders and those of you who have friends and family in harm's way. 🙏🙏🙏

Chocolate covered peanuts seemed a yawn until reminded of peanut M&Ms, yum. Quiet day at sea, flower arranging demo and a wine tasting, will not be eating right until I getIMG_20220224_172016189_HDR.thumb.jpg.e06e5c9293db7310845a8b9104408a04.jpg home. Love the quote. Meal is not for me at all, basil is for pesto not a cocktail, we love NZ SB Nobilo which HA has on her ships. Have not been to Rotterdam.

Prayers to all on Roy's care list, safe travels home Roy and have a safe and happy weekend.

Pics from the last few days.  PG Crab cakes and lamb chops.   Double O Ten Martini.  Belvedere, Ten O Tanquery and a splash of Grand Marnier. 🍸

@smitty34877 I hope that you all stay safe with your icing.  And that Tana gets some relief with her visit today.

Thank you,Ann. I asked DD to be the driver last night as I am a nervous driver with these road conditions. The appointment is at noon so maybe it will be less icy by then. it is a lot to manage WC ,walker ,oxygen and of course the patient!
