QV and 2023 dress code/theme schedules

It looks like dress code and themed evening schedules may now be available on My Cunard for QV. And schedules may be out for 2023 as well, at least into the 2023 world voyages. I received a report from @frankp01 on the "Dress Code and Theme Schedules for 2021-22" sticky that the schedule is listed now for his segment of the 2023 QV world voyage.

I'm willing to start a master 2022 dress code and theme schedule document for QV. If you are on a 2022 QV voyage and are now seeing the dress code and theme schedules on your daily calendar within My Cunard, please post what you are seeing and I'll start compiling the results into a QV document for 2022.

I'm also willing to start master dress code and theme schedule documents for 2023 for all three of the ships. If you are on a 2023 voyage and are seeing the dress code and theme schedules in My Cunard, please post what you are seeing and I'll start compiling those results as well.

As a reminder, I'll need the name of your ship, the dates of your voyage, which dates will be gala evenings, and what the themes (if any) will be on those gala evenings.

Hello, @bluemarble! Grateful as ever for your hard work.

I can start you off with Queen Victoria’s V230; 11 - 15 November 2022. There is one gala night on the 12th, the theme for which is ‘Black and White’.

We will be joining you!

QE Q309A 14th February, 2023 to 22 February, 2023

15th Feb Gala night - Black and White theme

21st Feb Gala night - Masquerade theme

I must say I think the 21st being a Gala night is an error as it's the night before disembarkation for those doing the 'A' version of the cruise - perhaps though, we will be in the minority and we will just have to organise our packing as best we can!

Is it common practice to not take 'segments' and their disembarkation days into account when planning the gala nights? It's not something I've come across before.

Yes, it does sometimes happen that gala evenings are planned for the day before disembarkation.

This happens a lot with the short cruises such as Southampton-Hamburg / Hamburg-Southampton where there really isn't any alternative to scheduling gala evenings on the single sea day between Southampton and Hamburg.

Similarly, QE's Australia seasons have had segments that start/end in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane with only a single sea day between them. Gala evenings have sometimes been scheduled on those sea days which end up being the day before disembarkation for some passengers.

The 2020 Alaska season had segments scheduled to start/end in either Vancouver or Victoria. Gala evenings were planned the day before arrival back in Victoria (two days before arrival back in Vancouver).

Now in your case, it's less clear cut since they could have scheduled your final gala evening on 20th Feb. But since that's a port day (in a string of four consecutive port days), that probably factored into the decision to schedule the gala evening on your final sea day rather than one of those previous port days. Certainly not ideal for you but probably preferable for those doing the full Melbourne round trip.

Thanks bluemarble and others for your comments. Yes, it doesn't really matter at all to me as long as I'm back in the cabin in time to pack my clothes in my suitcase and have it outside the cabin door!

Thanks to everyone's help we're doing quite well with QV's 2022 dress code/theme schedule. I figure we're almost 70% there now.

Here are the gaps that need to be filled in yet for QV 2022.

V224: Sep 4-Sep 23 = Venice and the Adriatic (19 nights)

V226: Oct 7-Oct 11 = Amsterdam (4 nights)

V229: Oct 30-Nov 11 = Canary Islands (12 nights)

V232: Nov 25-Nov 29 = Amsterdam (4 nights)

V233: Nov 29-Dec 11 = Canary Islands (12 nights)

V301: Dec 23-Jan 7 = Canary Islands Celebration (15 nights)

For 2023, I now have the full dress code/theme schedule for QV's 2023 world voyage.

Is anyone seeing the dress code/theme schedule for QM2's 2023 world voyage?

Hi Bluemarble,

here are the gala nights for cruise V224 leaving on the 4th Sept. Annoyingly there only 4 on a 19 night cruise with just 7 port days.

6th - Black and White

9th - Masquerade

15th - Red and Gold

21st - Roaring Twenties

Thank you very much for that contribution, @Camgirl.

Could I ask you to double-check the date of that first gala evening (Black and White)? It's more typical for Cunard to schedule that for the evening of the first full sea day rather than the second. I was expecting to see that scheduled for 5th Sept rather than 6th Sept. There are exceptions to that rule (especially on QE's schedule), but I'd just like to be sure about that date.

I have checked again and it is definitely the 6th for the first gala evening at the moment. Unusual, I would agree, but that is what is coming up on the calendar for the cruise. It could still be a mistake, of course.....
