For testing to go home -

Today they had an announcement that those needing a proctored test they have a supply of them for SALE and Guest Relations.   They cautioned that supplies were limited.

Jim I know you like to provide lots of details for your fellow CC readers.  I wonder if you could find out anywhere regarding taking these tests via emed.com onboard the following:

  • Do you need a WiFi package to take the test (It would be nice if the would open the firewall to this site like they do with celebrity.com
  • If you need a package will it work with surf/basic or do you need stream/premium
  • I guess CC minutes would work as well as they are stream/premium

I asked and Guest Relations said that you would need the high speed .  You can use the Premium Package, CC Minutes (which is high speed) or go to guest services and they will enable for a period of time from the Internet Cafe.

Depending on where you are traveling the internet may be patchy.

Out of curiosity I just tried from the ship and got through to an agent and just told her I had something come up and will call back in.

We are also very interested in anything you learn, Jim, on these questions,

I was really hoping that they would hold a sort of clinic for those who need testing to fly home,  I don’t care if I have to pay for the test.

We are bringing our emed tests, but our recent experiences with Celeb wi-if aren’t spectacular.

Our last day is a sea day, and we dock in Amsterdam about 6 am, so our plan was to use international cellular data, $10 per phone per day, to take the tests early that morning.

I would much rather pay Celeb to witness my test and not have to worry about Wi-Fi

What I understand is if you booked by a certain date and are flying home within 24 hours of the end of the cruise they test you at the terminal at Celebrity's Expense.    Best to confirm with Celebrity.

I’m sitting in a plane on the tarmac at CDG, waiting for our delayed flight to be able to taxi and take off for Lisbon about an hour late.

It has given me time to catch up on this thread. I’m even more excited to get there now!

Thanks to everyone who posted pictures and recommendations!

Are you only able to order from regular room service while in quarantine?

I've just received an email from X asking us to update our "vaccination status". Found this info, which I think will be helpful for you all --

"All fully vaccinated guests requiring a COVID-19 test to return to their home country will be provided the opportunity to receive testing in the cruise port during disembarkation. Proof of return travel scheduled within 24 hours of disembarkation will be required. Details on testing registration will be provided onboard. Testing will be complimentary for guests with cruise reservations booked prior to November 16, 2021. For new bookings made on or after November 16, 2021, testing will be available for a per person fee. The cost for onsite cruise port testing starts at $99* per person.  Prices vary by port and test type. "

What was weird to me was we didn't need a Passenger Locator for the Azores.   Then as much as they went on about having a copy to be scanned in the terminal we were never asked for them.    I guess they checked to see if everyone on the ship had applied -  You have to fill in you Ship and Cabin # on the form.

Hi Jim,

Loving your posts!  Arrived Southampton this afternoon.  Did you have to complete a locator form for Lisbon?  Noted you didn’t for the Azores.  See you Thursday!  We both tested here at the hotel via Abbott proctored tests…negative…thankful! Hope all goes well tomorrow!

The Pasteis de Belem brought back memories of when my late husband and I were in Lisbon years ago.  Delicious!

Also, your photos are great!

I agree they are incredible.     We got some at a place a no name bakery and they were as good as I remembered.

I can believe it the winds in Lisbon are really high.   We are currently at the tip of Spain and hope to break out of the heavy winds in the next couple hours.    We had winds as highs 45 MPH but Lisbon currently looks up to 50 MPH.

Yes it is required for ALL PASSENGERS AND CREW to fill one out 2 days prior to arrival.   They had terminals set up on the ships for those without internet.

The forms are suppose to be valid for 14 days and asked at the b2b meeting if that would suffice the Documentation Officer said she didn't know but we would be advised at the beginning of the next cruise.     It is easy to fill in but you need you Passport Number and that becomes you password for the PDF you receive.

Look forward to see all the folks from the next cruise.    Sounds like a 2x the passenger count as this cruise.
