grapau27 Posted April 5, 2022 #26 Share Posted April 5, 2022 43 minutes ago, dfish said: Oh, happy day! Good morning, everyone. I got the results of my CT scan late last night when they were posted on the patient portal. Back in March during an MRI of my back they found a mass on the right adrenal gland. Those are called incidentalomas as they are usually found by accident and generally benign. They can be functioning, though, and that can cause havoc. I found out from the CT scan that mine is indeed benign. So, I am doing the happy dance. One hurdle over. We still don't know if it is the source of my pain. They are generally painless, but mine could be an exception. So, I will wait to hear from the doctor as to what we do next. @NextOne Happy Birthday! @msmayor Congratulations on your new granddaughter. Mother Teresa's quote reminds me that sometimes it is the small things that end up being the great things. In this world if we all decide to leave those we encounter feeling better than we met them, the world will begin healing. Let's try it. I love white pizza. There is a place in town that makes a great white pizza with all kinds of veggies on it. I am outside of their delivery area, so I just have to drive to get it. I could probably make this one with a cauliflower crust. https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/sausage-topped-white-pizza/ You can leave off the arugula/spinach if you like. The caramelized onions sound good on this one: https://momsneedtoknow.com/white-pizza-with-sausage-caramelized-onions-and-arugula/ This one is a quick recipe with different toppings. Really, you can make this your own easily. Use the recipe part for the white sauce and then the toppings you like. http://www.thehungryhousewife.com/2012/09/easy-white-pizza-with-sausage.html Prayers for all who need them, especially Ukraine and our Daily family members. Cheers to those who are celebrating. I know I am! Wishing you all a wonderful day. Delighted for you Debbie that you got a Benign diagnosis. We had just been to Ashdod, Israel two days earlier and spent a long day touring Jerusalem so a nice day spent strolling through this port was just what we needed. Besides, we all wanted Wi-Fi!! Here we are approaching the dock at a marina filled with sailboats. The town was very clean and we noticed in addition to sailboats there were lots of yachts to admire. Along the waterfront were a lot of statues, too. There was a small castle on a hill which we walked up to but no one wanted to pay an admission fee to go inside so we just took a quick glance in the doorway and left. I have no idea why I am sitting here unless it was just a short rest. And I can't read Turkish! This looks like a nice place to spend some time shopping. Along the waterfront were many cafes to stop and have a refreshment. So on our walk back we stopped at one and sat on a cozy seating area to have a cold drink. I had to crop of photo of us sitting with our travel friends because I don't think they'd want their identity exposed after I just told you that story about them. Lol! I don't drink beer so I'm not sure what I had to drink that day. Right across from our table and sofa was this yacht with a place to hide the "toys" inside. As the Prinsendam left that afternoon, you can see from this photo the top of the castle we walked over to earlier. It was a nice day in Marmaris. Hope you get to enjoy it someday, too. Excellent photos Sandi. Thank you for sharing. Graham. 16

Like @StLouisCruisers I awoke to a red sky this morning, tinged heavily with yellow pollen. Sitting at the computer I have a great view of an impending storm coming in from the south west. @dfish I am glad that they have discovered the problem, that it is benign. I am doing my second test today for my adrenal gland, and should get my results in another week. I put off doing the test because of having to go back into town, and every day I scheduled it, DH made an appointment with another Doc to find out what was happening with him. Yesterday's visit we were informed that because of chemo, radiation, and the removal of the the teeth prior to radiation, it appears that the nerves in his mouth along the jaw line have been causing the pain. He is to pick up a new drug today at the pharmacy. I too love pizza, actually in any form, but am I the only one who hates arugula? @smitty34877 I was so happy to read that Tana got a full 5 hours of sleep last night Good sleep is a great healer. Feral Fawn is still hanging in there, she really doesn't leave the back patio area, she wont go back on the porch, and she is now used to me bringing food to her. We gave her some steak the opther day. I told her that it was salted mouse, and she ate it. She appears to like cream, and her favorite treats. However, I am not sure that she wont totally freak when the weather gets bad later today. Very best wishes for your second Adrenal gland test today that you are finally able to get done. marshhawk Posted April 5, 2022 #31 Share Posted April 5, 2022 (edited) @grapau27 Thank you for the information on the poor misunderstood dandelion. Really isn't everything a weed? We pick the ones we think can be cultivated into something else, and then disregard the remaining ones? aliaschief Posted April 5, 2022 #33 Share Posted April 5, 2022 Good morning! Could be some bad weather here but for right now most of it is North of us. Glad I’m not flying into or out of Atlanta as they will soon be right in the storms path. Every day we’re both feeling a little better. Everyone wants to hear about our Covid adventure and there’s not much to tell other then Hal took good care of us and we had a different view every day! Yesterday, I unpacked my luggage, sorted through the junk mail and today is going to be wash day and it’s my week to choose dinner and cook. Last night my bourbon flavored salmon filets, sweet potato and green beans received a hug of approval from DW!❤️ Leaning toward a chicken dish tonight. Completed my post Hal cruise survey yesterday and I hope they take note of some of my comments especially on entertainment! Rich thanks for your Daily and faithful post and to all that contribute. Seize the day and make a difference.
ger_77 Posted April 5, 2022 #34 Share Posted April 5, 2022 (edited) Good morning, thanks for the Daily! We both prefer regular or even thin crust to deep dish pizza. I've often said "go for broke" along with "in for a penny, in for a pound" or "go big or go home" - some times you just have to give it your all and see what happens. Too early for dandelions for us, but you can be assured there will be plenty, as we have neighbours who never keep theirs in check. I know that early in the spring it's important to have the dandelions available because the bees need them as a food source before the rest of the flowers arrive. It looks like we're in the April Showers portion of spring, as it rained last night and we're expecting more today. As I opened the living room curtains this morning, I was surprised at how little snow there was left on the front lawn, then realized it must have rained a lot last night. It looks like we'll be trading our parkas for rain coats today. Not a lot going on, will do a quick grocery run and make a drop-off at the Salvation Army store of some things we've purged from around the house. Happy Birthday @NextOne with many happy returns of the day! @msmayorI'm glad we were able to hear from you again - first of all, congratulations on your sweet new granddaughter! I'm sending healing vibes to your dear daughter, and if I can suggest something, maybe mention to the health nurse who comes to check on newborns (or maybe they don't do that where you are), that Mom is struggling - there are many resources they can access to help new mothers. @JAM37 let's hope your DH just has a cold and that it passes quickly. @dfish woo hoo on the scan results! @smitty34877 great news about Tana getting some rest; hopefully this will continue and give everyone restful sleep. @StLouisCruisers love the photos of Marmaris; it looks like a combination of Turkish and Greek places we've visited. And of course, we've had the Efes beer when we were in Turkey! @marshhawk "salted mouse" - I love it !!! While pizza seems to be the theme of the day, we've still got some ham to use up. I think I'll be putting it together with potatoes and make a ham and potato casserole and serve it along with some steamed green beans. And wine. Prayers for everyone who needs them and even for those who don't think they do. Extra prayers for the people of Ukraine and all who are providing aid and refuge. Extra also for our Daily family members who are struggling. We'll raise our glasses high to cheer all who are on the celebration list. Be safe, get your boosters, wash your hands, wear your masks when you need to, and stay well. Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂 Gerry Edited April 5, 2022 by ger_77 32
Rare ottahand7 Posted April 5, 2022 #35 Share Posted April 5, 2022 @dfishSo glad for the good result from your CT scan and for the great recipes and pictures each day. @smitty34877 I am so happy to hear that you had a good 5 hours of sleep and that means Tana probably had a better night too. Thin crust pizza for us, I am glad we are not planning a casino trip today with Go For Broke it is bad enough as it is. So cold here the Dandelions haven't sprung up yet. Mother Teresa - we can always give love no matter what. Pizzas looked great especially the last one. Too much OJ in the rum drink for me. The Rose' sounds wonderful. Never have been to Turkey. We are heading out to buy mulch. We have a one day break in the weather so I can get it down too. The beds are prepared we just got hit with cold, wet weather. I stayed up late to watch UNC choke and squander a 15 point lead to lose the Championship. Kansas stuck with it. I am making a NYT's recipe tonight. Seared chicken thighs with salami and olives. New one for me. BHBs are heading to Alaska soon. Here is a great memory from Skagway September 2016 - Oosterdam shore excursion.

Heartgrove Posted April 5, 2022 #38 Share Posted April 5, 2022 Thank you Rich for the Daily Report, thank you Roy for the Cares and Celebration Report, and thank you Debbie for today's recipes. And thank you all for being here! Still waiting to hear if my sister received her scan results yet. Sue and DSIL are preparing for their substitute cruise this Friday on the Nieuw Statendam. I guess you need to re-think your packing from a 7-day cruise to a 9-day cruise. It might be worth a call to HAL Accounting to see if any fees that were charged could be applied to this cruise. Sue and I really enjoyed our Mediterranean cruise aboard the Nieuw Statendam in 2019. Setup Sue's camera as I won't be along. I probably should unpack! Sue made me promise not to climb a ladder while she is gone. I told her I won't get on anything taller than the couch. 😁 - Jack 27
cunnorl Posted April 5, 2022 #39 Share Posted April 5, 2022 Good Morning from a warm but overcast day at the beach Rain forecasted to return again this afternoon. Not complaining, it is so much worse in other places. We love pizza in this house. I prefer thin crust, DH likes deep dish. I have always liked dandelions as a flower. They are so colorful, but I know how invasive they can be. Love the Quote. Mother Teresa was one special woman. @StLouisCruisers Thanks for the beautiful pictures of todays port. Really wants me to expand my bucket list. @msmayor Congratulations on your granddaughter. I am sure your daughter will be fine. She deserves a lot of credit for admitting she needs help. That is half the battle. We will keep her and your family in our prayers. @NextOne A very Happy Birthday to You. Hope you have a wonderful day and many more. Have to call HAL today. Tried to book flights and it keeps reverting to FT Lauderdale as my homeport, instead of Orlando. Have tried changing it but it keeps flipping back. Oh well, probably just a glitch in the system. Stay safe and enjoy today 25

Quartzsite Cruiser Posted April 5, 2022 #43 Share Posted April 5, 2022 Good morning from sunny Quartzsite. The only thing on the agenda today is a grocery run to Parker. Thirty years ago, I made deep dish pizza fairly often. Now, we prefer thin crust pizzas, so I finally got rid of my deep dish pizza pan. Go for Broke is a phrase I heard often growing up, and now, thanks to @grapau27 Graham, I now know the origin of the saying. We don't have dandelions here, but will have some when we get back to Texas. When our youngest DD was little, she would pick the dandelion flowers and bring them to me, and I would put them in water. I like the quote from Mother Theresa very much. The third pizza looks good, but we usually have red sauce on ours. We'll pass on the drink and the wine. We have not been to Marmaris, Turkey. Thank you, @StLouisCruisers Sandi, for the pictures. It also reminds me of Turkish and Greek ports, and hopefully we'll make it there one day. BTW, I'm pretty sure the photo @seagarsmoker posted today is the pier in Huatulco. I'm another one who would like to have the photos labeled. @NextOne 🎂🎈 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, EDI! 🍾🥂 @msmayor Connie, congratulations on the birth of your granddaughter, Lana. I'm sorry your DD had a difficult labor and is having trouble adjusting to motherhood. It's good she is getting help and that the family is there to support her. Sorry about the problems you faced at work, but so glad you have a one in a million boss. He's a keeper. @dfish Debbie, great news the incidentaloma is benign. I hope they find the answer to the pain soon. @JAM37 Julia, I'm sorry your DH isn't feeling well. Hope the test is negative and it is just a cold. @smitty34877 Terry, that is good news that Tana is improved and could sleep for five hours. @marshhawk Glad to know you are getting that test taken. I hope the new drug helps ease your DH's pain. You are not alone, as I don't care for arugula. @aliaschief Glad to know you are both feeling better. After each cruise on Koningsdam, I have made comments on the entertainment, but I'm not sure it's been taken seriously. I'll add them to the survey again this week. Cruising-along Posted April 5, 2022 #50 Share Posted April 5, 2022 Good morning all! We had some crazy weather come through here yesterday -- hail and thunder interspersed with heavy rain. Of course now the streets are filled with pink and white blossoms that fell off the trees. It was pretty while it lasted! I'm surprised that my tulips and daffodils don't look too bad after all that. DD lost power south of us, we were fortunate and kept ours. Neither DH or I like deep dish pizza, and I definitely don't like dandelions. For some reason there seems to be more of them popping up in the yard this year. Maybe if they weren't bright yellow (my least favorite color of flower) I might tolerate them LOL. The wine and drink sound good, and even though we usually have red sauce on our pizza, Debbie's recipes do look good to me. Have been to Turkey a few times, but never Marmaris. Thank you Sandi @StLouisCruisersfor the great photos. It doesn't look anything like Kusadasi or Istanbul to me -- was it very different from those ports? @NextOneEdi Happy Birthday and great news that they found a reason for Jackie's problem and that it is easily remedied! Double reason to celebrate! @msmayorConnie congratulations on the birth of your sweet granddaughter Lana. Prayers that your daughter soon feels more comfortable with motherhood. So smart of her to ask for help. @dfishDebbie I'm doing the happy dance with you, GREAT news and I'm so happy for you. @smitty34877Terry such good news that Tana was able to sleep 5 straight hours last night. Prayers that this is the beginning of a new trend and better nights ahead. 20
