How to book precruise hotel for Anchorage?

we will be traveling independently prior to our Southbound cruise out of Anchorage. I just paid deposit on cruise, how do I book the hotel they use? Do I need to call

Princess?

Why dont you just book any hotel you like on line

Why does it have to be one that Princess uses?

Check hotel reviews on Trip Adviser or booking dot com for ideas and maps showing locations

I want that hotel, the bus to Whittier will pick up from there, I have been to Anchorage numerous times and I want to stay at that hotel.

Probably more than one hotel.  Try some past cruise reviews for Alaska voyages, but likely someone will post an answer.

The Captain Cook Hotel.  Very nice, lots of character.  Handy to city center.  EM

To book the Princess hotel you will need to call Princess or your TA and ask them to add the hotel to your booking.

There are several hotels near the Captain Hook  I mean Cook!.

 

You can fly to Anchorage, but get transfers from the airport to the ship.  that way, you can get back to the airport the morning of the departure and get the bus to Whittier.

When we took a family trip (cruise/tour), my parents arrived several days early.

My travel companion has often stayed at the Holiday Inn near the airport (he was able to park his van there for a small extra fee pre and post cruise - because he DROVE to Anchorage!!

I have booked Capt cook independently just hoping Princess had a better rate, apparently they do not for the date I need.

Generally you get a better rate booking independently.  Only a better deal if transfers are included.  EM
