Rare island lady Posted June 3, 2022 #79 Share Posted June 3, 2022 Harmony captain announced at dinner, we will still arrive on time on Sunday, but will take a different route around the Bahamas to get there.
gsalbato Posted June 4, 2022 #80 Share Posted June 4, 2022 What happens to the people who were supposed to head out on Saturday on the Symphony? Does their cruise now get shortened by a day since they now have to head out on Sunday?

I guess if they tested Thursday for their Saturday departure they will have retest for a Sunday departure.
gsalbato Posted June 4, 2022 #82 Share Posted June 4, 2022 True. I forgot about the testing issue as well. I wonder if they lose a port day or a sea day?
SanzD Posted June 4, 2022 #83 Share Posted June 4, 2022 Email from Royal states Symphony will depart Sunday at 7pm. We will miss Coco Cay. Covid testing will be honored based on original sail date so no need to retest. 6

They will get onboard credit for the day that they will miss. My children are going with them and are heart broken right now. We live in Miami so not a big deal in terms of traveling to Port. gsalbato Posted June 4, 2022 #86 Share Posted June 4, 2022 Sounds like they will try and make Coco Cay on the way back if they can.
SanzD Posted June 4, 2022 #87 Share Posted June 4, 2022 Would rather skip Costa Maya and pick up Coco Cay at the end in its place.
sunonfire Posted June 4, 2022 #88 Share Posted June 4, 2022 The Independence left Port Canaveral this afternoon. She left ahead of the Disney ship. The Disney ship is ahead of her now. Disney is by the carnival Liberty which left PC first. The Liberty is heading to Nassau just like the Independence. Now I see the Independence is heading east instead of south. Has anyone heard anything?

To bad you weren't on a Saturday to Saturday sailing, you would have got a free extra day on your cruise like Symphony passengers are getting. This brings up an interesting question. Will the people who supposed to board SY today (now delayed until Sunday) have to restest to be within allowable dates or will they honor the tests even though they might be a day late now ? I wonder if CDC approved that I would guess because of this, more then the usually will become positive on this sailing, just gives those passengers 1 extra day in the Florida area to pick up the virus somewhere today in their travel around Florida. One less day of quarantining on the ship now though since it's only a 6 nighter . 🙂 Edited June 4, 2022 by Jimbo

Unless you're into street swimming. 1

Luckily parked inside the garage for luggage transfer on Sunday. 🙂 It's really dreary, light spitting rain right now...and terribly humid. I think the Casino and shops will be happy today...and the bars. 😉 Don't even want to venture inside the Solarium...probably chair hog heaven.
Chloesimon Posted June 4, 2022 #100 Share Posted June 4, 2022 I live in Naples. The weather is cloudy, no wind, and intermittent rain --- sometimes a light drizzle and then a break and then heavier rain when the squall comes through (every hour or two). Nothing to worry about. Sunday is supposed to be mostly sunny. This is not a hurricane.
