Rare cachouonacruise Posted June 12, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 12, 2022 This post was recognized by LauraS! "Thanks for generously sharing your time at sea with everyone at Cruise Critic!" cachouonacruise was awarded the badge '"Live from...."' Jim recently published a beautiful and detailed review of Celebrity Silhouette, so I don't feel the need to add more information about the ship, unless you have any questions. My intent is only to post pictures about our ports of call. This said, our embarkation process in Southampton was the smoothest I ever experienced. Furthermore, staff on the ship and ashore was just phenomal! We are really having a good time on Silhouette. Below, some pictures fon St.Peter Port, Guersey Island!
NewWestwardbound Posted June 13, 2022 #2 Share Posted June 13, 2022 Looking forward to this; and if you stray into photos or commentary on the Ship, food, entertainment and/or service it wouldn’t bother me in the slightest! Have a great cruise.

Rare cachouonacruise Posted June 13, 2022 Author #6 Share Posted June 13, 2022 Sorry, something came up while I was typing in my opening post and I did not finish it or meant to publish it yet. Note: our tour guide Annette Henry, was amazing:
upwarduk Posted June 13, 2022 #7 Share Posted June 13, 2022 Many thanks for the Guernsey photos. We last went in September 2016, as we had been warned in the past that even tenders have difficulty getting in, due to winds. You were very fortunate.

upwarduk Posted June 13, 2022 #9 Share Posted June 13, 2022 Hi cachyouonacruise, I’m due to check in tomorrow for our cruise on Silhouette for 30/07/22. I’ve printed the PDF of our vaccine records and have screen shots. As we are over 75 (UK)we have records of 4 each- x2 initial vaccines and x2 boosters. How many do I need to upload? Is it just the first 2? Or can I also upload one or 2 of our boosters to prove we are: ‘Up to date’? Many thanks,

You are so kind to take the time to share your cruise with everyone on Cruise Critic! So glad you are having a wonderful time. I am still feeling down because we had to miss this cruise because of my fractured patella. Really appreciate having a glimpse of what we are missing.
Rare cachouonacruise Posted June 13, 2022 Author #11 Share Posted June 13, 2022 I am not a Celebrity rules specialist as they, may change from country to country. What we did as Canadians, we uploaded an official Canadian Government "Covid passports" which included detailed information on our 3 covid doses each and the CPR certified test information, since we tested positive for Covid about 45 days before the cruise. We also had in hand our Certificate of recovery and a copy of our certified Covid Antigen test taken two days before the cruise. Boarding Silhouette was then the smoothest boarding process I ever experienced! I hope this helps! Good luck!
Rare cachouonacruise Posted June 13, 2022 Author #12 Share Posted June 13, 2022 Today was our first Irish day. The ship docked in Cobh, we drove through Cork, visited the Blarney Castle, had a lunch at the hotel with Irish signing and dancing, stopped for a photo op at Fort Charles, then for shopping at Kinsale. Enjoy the pictures!
Rare chemmo Posted June 14, 2022 #13 Share Posted June 14, 2022 Beautiful pictures! Could you check the daily Today and find out if The Porch is open at lunch and if so is this every day or just port days? Looking forward to your next post.
WeBcruisingMN Posted June 14, 2022 #14 Share Posted June 14, 2022 We are on the Silhouette and just booked the Porch for lunch on one of the sea days. Didn’t notice if it was available on port days.
RickT Posted June 14, 2022 #15 Share Posted June 14, 2022 On the Silhouette in a couple months. Curious who the current musicians/bands onboard are? Realize their contacts might end before we board but curious anyway.

I had read on a Reflection post it had been closed at lunchtime and was concerned in case Silhouette had followed suit… Hope you are enjoying your cruise…

Enjoy! Love all the pics. My ancestry is Scots through Ireland, have always harbored a wish to visit both countries. So much history there, and of course the gorgeous countryside.

You will have to stop by al Bacio in the afternoon and pick up some little bite size lemon tarts. They are SO GOOD and just the right size for an afternoon snack. I would sometimes pick up 4 and it would last us 2 days. We will be doing the British Isles cruise next year and really enjoying the pictures.
