Did I choose wisely?

I'd also go with the filet, but the veal looked pretty good.

No idea what this stuff means, or how acurate some sensors under my feet are. My BMI is good, though. Pretty sure thats just weight compared with height.

Those white oval looking things on your scale are probably sensors. They measure how much resistance there is in a small electrical current flowing from one foot, through your body, to the other foot.  Resistance is correlated to body fat.  Don't know if it's any more accurate than just comparing weight vs. height but it sounds more impressive.

Perfectly poached egg for a gastronomical explosion

Osobuco

It just fell apart with a fork. So tender, great sauce, al dente veggies, and a sublime polenta

The aftermath. Need to save room for dessert

Tiramisu and coffee. Perfect combination.

And what ties it together?

A digestive of course😁

Limoncello to be specific🍋

Seriously, the best meal of the trip 😋

I am making note to order OssoBuco. What concerned me was I looked on the app and the Allure cruise was not showing Giovanni.  I quickly looked it up online.

You also got Carbonara so I guess there is no problem getting 2 main dishes?  I know they don't mind in MDR.  Didn't know in Specialty Dinner.

Glad you had a great meal at Giovanni’s!  Everything looked delicious!  We’ll have to give it another try next time we’re on Indy!

Now that we've passed midpoint of the cruise, I'm not sure cruising solo is for me. It's just odd. No idea how Laura does it.

On these short ones I prefer solo. I do have a few long ones that are solo, but I start feeling a bit lonely about day 5.

Plus casino is a bit cheaper when my other half isn’t here. 🤣

Pretty sure that is Disney Wish just north of us on the starboard side. I can see her from my balcony. Maritime traffic is behind but she left Castaway Cay just before we left Coco Cay. 🤷🏻

Something there. Disney ships usually have red and blue lights

Might be a Crystal ship hiding from bankruptcy courts 🤣

I can see Wish now. Red lights seems right. Pretty far in front of us.

We need to beat her into port😉

Yes, 4 metal sensors

The independence is our favorite ship but we’ve only done longer cruises on her.  We will be on a 3 day cruise the day after thanksgiving. Do they do an ice show on the independence 3 day cruises?  We just returned from the Allure today so I’m loving reading about your adventure!

Was watching Book of Manning on ESPN.

Good story, but there's still another chapter to be written with Arch.

Headed to Promenade to catch 70's party

Good crowd

Long talk with Alex. Playmaker's Mgr. 2 stripes. Married to Grecia the Suite Concierge. They honeymooned in Machu Pichu last year. Learned that from Grecia, but she didn't share her shipboard hubby's name.

I digress

Alex told me two things

A) As a Pin, I get one $25 dining voucher. That makes no sense, because that's a CK ship benefit. I believe I mentioned that yesterday.

FWIW, went and checked with Consolata the LA. She said they were doing that until late May. Either way I don't care.

B) I can only eat at any one venue once per day. He said that was a recent change. Not sure I want to escalate to F&B manager. But I am curious. May just bring it up on survey and request a call back.

More disturbing, is Alex said if I eat dinner in a specialty venus, I can't use it at another. That's not what happened yesterday. Maybe it wad a communication issue.

He did invite me back for a cookie tonight. So I'll graciously accept. Maybe after Bolts win😉

Well this is disappointing. The description for unlimited dining in my cruise planner literally says "For one low price, you can enjoy multiple entrees and visit multiple specialty restaurants every night of your sailing."1FAA33DD-C363-4B3A-8890-1E5D898E4722.thumb.jpeg.81231522b78d64e278909f9535889047.jpeg

Good morning!  I am sitting on my balcony at the Marriott in Cocoa Beach, waiting for the sun to rise and the Indy to come pick me up.  I see the Disney Wish on the webcam, moving slowly, accompanied by a fireboat celebration.  776 people watching the webcam at 5:47 a.m., I believe the port will indeed be a zoo this morning.

Have a great cruise. What is the itinerary and will you keep this thread going?

This is our very last Lifted & Shifted or otherwise rescheduled-due-to-Covid cruise.  Booked in March 2020, $729 total for an aft balcony.  We are going to Nassau, Coco Cay, and a sea day.  I may come back to the thread if anything out of the ordinary or remarkable happens, but we are very boring cruisers compared to some others 😁.  We will relax/nap on the balcony, go to shows, hang out watching the FlowRider, spend some time in the casino, and thoroughly enjoy a beach day on Coco Cay.

That sounds like a perfect few days, similar to our grueling routine 😜.

Based on yesterday, it does seem multiple restaurants per day works.

Still gonna follow up with Miami soon
