Just of note, it’s not an ‘all you can drink package’ but limited at 15 alcoholic drinks and no sharing with others is allowed.  But, it is hard to reach that limit within a 24 hour period.

You are correct. And I never reached the limit of 15, nor did I ever go over $12 a drink. That is why this makes me so annoyed that I have to spend time after my vacation fixing mistakes.

It is not all that hard if you spend extended time in the casino

In Utah EVERYONE pays retail prices, even restaurants.

Yes, I know this is an old comment, but I still wanted to post a reply. In British Columbia, we had those regulations too - restaurants paid retail price for beer/wine/spirits.  It took the pandemic and the outsized effect it had on the hospitality industry to get the Govt to allow them to purchase at wholesale prices like retail stores did, in order to help reduce costs.  Heck, even letting a *few* grocery stores sell bottles of wine has only been here about 5 years

The Premier Package worked out well for us. It was a struggle to find availability of the Premier wines, but they always found us something. We drank lots of premium cocktails, Champagne and John was having his favourite Malt Whisky, double shots, which would have been $12 per drink plus tax over the Plus Package. For most people, the Plus Package will work really well, just depends what you like to drink and how much of it. We also won $250 on Princess Prizes, got a $100 credit for the abysmal internet.  All in all, we were definitely up on the deal!  Can’t wait to go back and enjoy it all again one day.

We don't have wine or liquor in grocery stores like some other states. We BARELY had a law change that allows grocery stores to sell beer up to 5% now. It WAS 3.2% forever prior to that and many local breweries brewed beer specifically to meet that limit and even Coors and Budweiser made beer specifically for the Utah market. But when that rule changed anything that had been between 3.5 and 5 that was sold in the state run liquor stores could no longer be sold there (ONLY one or the other) and at midnight of whatever day the law took effect any stock still on hand at the state liquor stores had to be destroyed. They couldn't even sell or transfer it to the stores that were now allowed to sell it. So wasteful and silly.

How much you can drink is the same with either the Plus or Premier packages. 15 drinks a day. Any bartender can pour you bigger shots and choose whether or not to charge as 1 or 2 drinks. As long as we can get our Manhattans with Bulleit and our martinis with Grey Goose we will be happy. Plus package wines have never been all that great

Can you report back on how the photo piece works out? I loved when they had the option to buy the "All Inclusive" photos and always purchased it and had TONS of photos! That's no longer offered but would almost make the upgrade to premier worth it if they still had as many photo opportunities. I just sailed Princess in April (first time post Covid) and really don't recall seeing any of the usual stations set up around the ship. Now, that could have been because I wasn't intending on getting pictures done so didn't look...lol. We did get a picture taken at sailaway but when we went to the digital picture place to find it, no one could locate it. I'm just interested to hear if there is ample opportunity to get a bunch of nice pictures.

I hope you enjoy the upgraded package - honestly, if it wasn't for the fact that I always sail with a kid as pax 2 I would probably do it just because I hate the thought of having a "bill" to pay at the end. I can't justify paying the extra for a kid who gets nothing extra with the upgrade...

Absolutely! I have already agreed to report on the condition of the ship, changes to the special features that they had for Japanese market (bidets, electric kettles w tea, etc.) and the Izumi bath area. I'll provide a full report. 🙂

Well I can no longer report back. All Diamond Princess cruises for Sept and Oct have been canceled. ☹️

The replacement cruises won't work for us plus this was supposed to be a big 40th bday celebration so we're scrambling to find a replacement.

Two adults and two youths in a cabin.  Do both adults have to purchase the Premium?  And what about the two underage?  I thought all occupants had to purchase.

Only the two adults need to purchse.

If you book under Princess Plus or Princess Premier, only the first two passengers purchase the Plus or Premier beverage package. It does not matter whether or not one of them is underage - an underade passenger would receive the non-alcohol package. The other two passengers do not automatically receive a beverage package - you will need to purchase it separately if you want it.

It is important which passengers are listed first and second on the booking and which ones are listed third and fourth. If one of the two youths is listed first or second, that youth would receive the Plus or Premier (without the alcohol) and the adult listed third or fourth would not.

I would assume that if all are booked in one room, the two adults would be 1st and 2nd...which is what I based my response on. FWIW I always travel with just myself and 2 kids so have always had number 2 guest be a youth. I have been able to have the package removed from the second guest based on the fact that it was a child. It's something that needs to be done by a supervisor but it can be done!

It seems like this thread is pretty much all about beverage prices.  Does anyone know 1) how much the specialty dining costs (if someone only has Plus), and 2) when it says 1 WiFi device, does that mean at a time, or does the system register a specific device (i.e. phone, computer, tablet)?

1)  SD pricing is available on the Dining information page of Princess.com.  The price varies, depending on the restaurant.  The maximum cover charge is $29/pp.  The price is the same regardless of fare package the guest is on.

2) Yes, 1 at a time.  You could have 3 devices with you and can use them all - only one connected at any point in time.
