One of the guests in the GS gives room number and then says table for 4.

OP should just be prepared for more questions and if access for all 4 is denyed, be graceful.  Oh sorry I didn't know that a Jr Suite couldn't have lunch with us.

That isn’t gonna work.  They have pretty tight controls on access.   This will 99% be a waste of time and you lose any social capital you might gain with the CK manager.

There is alway a crush right at the start and it gets better as the day progresses.  We boarded Navigator last month at noon and it was 30 minutes from leaving our car in the parking lot until the first drink was in my hand.  Very quick at every point.

Thank you. So, if arrived by noon and you were on in what seems to be short order, then the crush is likely around 11am-ish? Or, did you just happen to beat the rush that might be at 1pm-ish or so?

Thank you for your insight.

What time is best to board the ship? I read that post pandemic, cruise lines have made boarding more efficient, so it really doesn't matter when to arrive as it will move quickly. Or?

We like boarding 11 or 11:30 then go straight to CK on ships that have a CK .

Other than fewer people, I have seen no different in the boarding process. In fact, it has moved from an orderly, managed boarding to a free-for-all because of the reduced passenger count.

TY George.

I was thinking that was too early. But, if they'll allow passengers on early enough for lunch, that sounds perfect.

Interesting -- on Quantum for the first leg of the B2Bwe did not have to give it but once after breakfast on Day 3.  Never had to give it on the second leg as we were in the same room.  Then again, we ate all our meals there except for twice on both cruises.

It was Margret's helper that kept asking and as you know it never was crowded in the for our cruise

Things will be less hectic boarding at 12:00 than at 11:00.  That being said, I boarded my last cruise at 12:00 because I had a 5 hour drive on embarkation morning and didn't want to get up any earlier than I did.  This was my first cruise out of LA.  I'm usually traveling in the day before and I typically board as early as I can and deal with the chaos.  I want to start my vacation as early as possible. I rarely go to the WJ on embarkation day.  I will either book a specialty restaurant lunch or head to the solarium Bistro or Cafe 270 on embarkation day.  However, if you are trying to avoid the crowd at boarding time after 12:00 is your best bet.

Just FYI.. I don't think you mentioned what cabin you are in and, although this is a thread related to CK, your questions didn't indicate you were in one. Coastal Kitchen is only available to suite passengers and those with pinnacle status.  I wouldn't want you showing up at CK thinking you were escaping the crowds only to be disappointed because you aren't traveling in a suite and weren't let in.  You may be but if not it won't be available to you.

Breakfast and lunch is only for a full suite, junior suites are not eligible and dinner is based on availability.

Will be on Harmony of the Seas. I have paid for the Royal Loft Suite and both Star Loft Suites.

Doing a 7-night cruise for a small family get together (10 people, including two younger children, which is why I booked this ship).

I want everyone to have same amenities and service, so it was either this, or I buy  everyone an inside cabin. Ha ha.

yep, he would look at my wife and I every time and say "what room number please" . Towards the end if he was at the hostess stand I would just say 8636.

LoL -- Yeah - we had the advantage of being there two whole weeks.

If that is the case then my comments about lineups isn't completely relevant either.  You will have access to a suite line at checkin as well as being escorted on by your genie.  I think both those suites are star class so your experience will be fine.  I'd try and board as early as possible You'll still go through security the same as everyone else but after that you should have a premium experience getting on board.

TY Tree. Appreciate the observations.

Yes, I purchased all three rooms so everyone would have same access/same level of service. My TA did indicate that all three are Star class.

We were just on Harmony in a Star Loft and had the kids in one of the A1s.  We arrived at 10:30am. Tamara, the land based genie was waiting at the star class podium.  She quickly checked our documents, escorted us through security and then escorted us up to a check in desk off on the other side of the room from the general check-in. That all took less than 10 minutes.  She then sat us in the suite lounge area to wait for our genie.  The genies arrived in a group at 10:55am and dispersed to round up their guests. We were sitting in the Suite Lounge for about 15 minutes while our genie went and retrieved his other cabin.  He came back, got us to our cabins, and after dropping off luggage and making sure there was nothing else he could get us, we headed to Sabor where he had already made our reservations for us.  We were sitting in Sabor with our margaritas before noon which was our requested time.

I just booked a Grand Suite on Allure.  This will be my first time on an Oasis class ship.

Do I need to make dinner reservations at Coastal Kitchen?

TIA.

The suite concierge is supposed to contact you a week prior to sailing.

Just let them know when you want to dine and they will make the arrangements.

They can also book  your entertainment , ask them to send you the info and pick your shows and times you want.

If they dont contact you , give RC a call and they will put you in touch with the concierge. I had to do this as they had my old work email they were using.
