Crown Princess

The Crown did have a high cruising speed for awhile from Portland to Vancouver so hopefully the bearing problem was fixed. I'd also like to know what else was done. I'm hoping TV's were installed on the walls and off the cabinet, gives extra storage.

I saw some pictures of an updates putting green - Image

And new astroturf on the upper decks.

I also read about some updates in the casino with at least new carpeting as well as elsewhere on the ship.

I sailed on the crown in late september and she did not look like she needed a drydock - she was in very good shape.

So far CruiseMapper shows her sailing out about 300 miles west from Vancouver enroute to Hawaii and holding speed between 20 and 22 kns. So, good sign that propulsion problems taken care of. Now, as to the reported aft vibrations some repirted before drydock, only those aboard and in the MDRs can tell us.  I would think she wouldn't be scheduled on those 15-day Hawaii roundtrips in Nov and Dec from Vancouver and LA, plus the 28-days Hawaii, Tahiti, Samoa from LA would have been possible with deficient propulsion.

I didn't notice any vibrations in the aft when I sailed in Sept.  I ate most of my meals on the aft outdoor terrace of the Horizon Court and didn't feel much of anything back there, even when we were sailing at 20kn.

What about the Aft MDR Boticelli? Did you eat there?  TIA

Everything must have been okay.  ELUA is back home and was very happy to be on the cruise from Vancouver to Hawaii.  Made all the ports.  In Victoria for the day and then on her way to LA.

Made all the ports, including one unexpected stop at Victoria for a medical evacuation, but onward after that to Vancouver. Made all the ports in plenty of time, no lags in propulsion and it was a really wonderful first Hawaiian cruise of the season for us. Looking forward to the next one, 28 days out of LA to FP and back and then our "regular" 15 day runs.

We are on the Crown Princess now in an Aft Emerald Deck Minisuite in seas rough enough to make us miss our port visit to Astoria, Oregon. I don’t notice anything unusual from what one would expect for this weather. Vibrations from leaving port also seemed similar from what we have experienced.

We are also on the Feb sailing. I wonder if anyone has heard why they changed our sail time from 4:00 to 3:00?

Yes I got that email and not sure why.

Sadly that roll call is dead as so many bailed on that sailing after the itinerary changes.

I don't know but we are on the Crown to Hawaii 1/31/23 and we are also leaving at 3:00. We get an extra hour!

When we sailed in June, we never really noticed the vibration until we went back to the Kids Club, or when we were at Sabatini’s.

Dinner at Sabatini’s had me a bit worried about the structural integrity of the ship.  Especially as we had dessert.  😀

It is lively there are multiple ship's departing that day & they needed to stagger the sailings...our inner harbor is not very wide.
