Bonjour! Well we and baggage have all made it to Lyon, France. Our fight from Atlanta was on Air France, a Delta partner. The plane was brand new as it had been in service for only three weeks. Had lots of neat bells and whistles.

With our limited layover in Paris we hired a service that leads you through immigration and to your gate. It was  money well spent. This man met us at gate dressed in tails and got us through in a jiff. Avoided long lines got us on ground transportation. I believe that we would have struggled on our own. Being led around by a man dressed to the nines does draw some looks!

Scenic rep met us at gate and introduced our driver and away we went to International Hotel which upgraded us to a room that overlooks the Rhône.

It is time for a nap.
Our view. Will read later.

This sounds like a very good start to your river cruise adventure.  From what I've heard of Scenic, you should have an excellent cruise.  Thanks for keeping us updated.

Yesterday I met my new doctor for here in Mobile.  She is nice, I like her. But my arms are sore today.  I got a flu and another booster in prep for my 91 days of cruising at the end of the year.

Thanks everyone for their contributions to this forum.

Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily.

We should all evaluate our lives from time to time. Rain forests are important and need to be preserved. I try to love my body but it's tough at times. Disagree with the quote, although the time it was written has to be taken into account.

I'll pass on the meal, drink and wine (cost).

I have been to Puerto Vallarta, on my LA to NY Panama Canal Cruise.

It's cold and rainy here. We will barely make it to 40F. The snow is north of us. My eye looked a little red when I went to bed, but I didn't think too much of it. Of course, I awoke with a uveitis flare, and am sitting in a room without lights and wearing sunglasses in order to stand looking at the computer. I'm putting in hourly drops of a stronger steroid. It's been about a month since the last flare; a little progress.

@cunnorl My condolences on the passing of your friend. I'm glad your remarks will be able to be said by your nephew at her Celebration of Life.

@Quartzsite Cruiser Sorry to hear about DH's issue with the muscle relaxant. Prayers the X-Ray doesn't show any damage.

@smitty34877 I hope Fred's blood work is ok and the skin condition resolves.

@Seasick Sailor So sorry to hear about your neighbor's passing. It sounds like there's been lots of fun shopping with your sis.

@aliaschief Good to hear you made it safely to Lyon. It sounds like you had great service getting there.

Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for the Celebration List.

Stay safe everyone.

Good morning Daily-ites.

A chilly 40's morning. 67 inside. I turned on the heat for my sis who is always freezing.

Sandi I'm so sorry for your friend. I thought about them yesterday quite a bit. We had a similar shock. Monday night a sweet neighbor passed away at 8 pm. As a tribute to her, all events have been canceled this week in our neighborhood. (Luncheons,  golf, Men's breakfast etc)

Yesterday was so much fun. My sis and I hiked, shopped downtown and had a beautiful dinner with my sweet husband and several friends. My sis and I played cards and gabbed til 2 am!

Today we are shopping again at shops we missed yesterday. At 7 tonight I've invited a dozen ladies for a Girly Girl evening of drinks and food to say goodbye to my sis. It's been a fun filled week!

After eating so much this week I don't know about loving my body. Maybe next week..

Prayers lifted to all those needing hope. Have a blessed day.

Joy, I'm sorry to hear about your neighbor passing Monday night.  Seems like we've all had a lot of loss lately on this board.

Hope your last evening with Sis is loads of fun.

After a day of intermittent power outages, I think I am caught up with the posts from Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

@kochleffel I am sorry to learn of your friend Fran's death and pray she had a peaceful passing.

@msmayor The Display Shower is a marvelous idea. Thanks for sharing it.

@grapau27 I pray Pauline did not find the 4th Memory of Her Mother too difficult.

@MISTER 67 Wow! New Water Heater! $$$ New AC! $$$ I guess the good news is that, like me, you still have a home standing after Ian.

@StLouisCruisers What a shock for you to learn of your friend Beverly's accident and passing. May you find comfort in her memory.

@Seasick Sailor How lovely your neighborhood's tribute is to your neighbor. May you all be comforted in this time of loss.

@cunnorl My condolences on the loss of your friend. Even an expected passing is difficult for friends, family.

To all those celebrating 🎂HAPPY BIRTHDAY🎂, to all those on BHBs

🚢ENJOY YOUR CRUISES🚢, to all those untangling tangled plans, may you have ✈️EASY TRAVELS✈️, and to anyone I've missed, please know it wasn't intentional.

Good morning and thanks all!  Interesting dinner and yummy wine! Nice photos thanks!
Sending my condolences for all the loss.
@aliaschiefhope you have a chance to enjoy some of the wonderful food in Lyon!
I’m glad to hear only mild reactions to the boosters.  I had mine yesterday and just some fatigue and mild aches.   I’ll do the flu shot separately in a couple of weeks.
@Quartzsite Cruiser hoping your DH has good news today.

Hello everyone! I am new to the Daily and Fleet Report as I am new to the Holland American pages. I have my first Holland America cruise booked for May 27th 2023 Boston to Montreal. I have cruised many times but this will be my first in the NE. My sister was a performer on Holland America back in 2003-2005. She was on the Osterdam and the Zyderdam.

My parents are flying out Saturday for a 15-night river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest. Ahh, the retired life is looking good on them. Hoping for safe travels.

We had our first freeze of the season here in Oklahoma last night. Days will still be in the 80's though for a few more weeks. Hope everyone has a great day. Prayers to all of those facing some struggles right now and always happy to see life celebrations both big and small.

Welcome to the Daily and to the HAL board.  Hope your cruise next year is everything you dreamed of.  Nice that your parents are starting out on their river cruise from Amsterdam, a beautiful city.

We actually had some frost on the roofs this morning.  It's a little early for winter and I'd hoped to keep the furnace off until November but I'm a big wimp!

Good morning from sunny and cool central Texas.  After yesterday's incident, it has been a frustrating morning.  I need to get DH to the hospital for the x-ray.  He's sore and not moving well at all this morning.  Because of that our PCP's office thinks the ER is the best place.  The surgeon's staff is trying to get him readmitted to a hospital and had arranged for home health to do an evaluation.  When home health learned his is scheduled for for the second surgery Monday, they said there was not enough time for the evaluation.  Because of insurance rules, they have to make 4 or 5 visits, and he needs more help than I can provide now.  Home health was going to call the surgeon's contact person to tell what was planned on our part and their part, but it was the surgeon's office lunch hour.  Now, I'm waiting to hear back from the surgeon's office.  In hind sight, they now know what I suspected, and that's DH needed in hospital rehab.

Believe me, I'm evaluating my life during all this and trying to see what I can do to improve things.  I try to take care of my body so that I can be in the best shape possible.  The rain forests are important to the environment and need all our help to survive.

Even knowing the circumstances of today's quote thanks to @0106, I do not like or agree with it.

We'll pass on the meal and the drink.  But, boy could I use some to today's wine.   I've tried Valpolicellas before and enjoyed them.

We have been to Puerto Vallarta at least 14 times and maybe two more.  Several were pre-digital visits, but I'll share some photos if I have time.

@marshhawk  Annie, you do not have to meet anyone else's expectations for your life.  You can reevaluate you life to see if there are changes you want to make, and forget about what others want.

@Seasick Sailor  Joy, I'm glad you and your sister are having so much fun.  I;m sorry for the loss of your neighbor, and I like the tribute to her of canceling all activities this week.

@aliaschief Bruce, I'm glad you, Sue and the luggage arrived safely and the well dressed gentleman got you through immigration quickly.  Loved the pictures.

@JazzyV  Vanessa, I'm sorry your eye flared up, and I hope the drops calm it down quickly.

@BrandelynCon  Welcome to the Daily, a very friendly, supportive place on CC.  I hope your HAL cruise next year lives up to and exceeds your expectations.

Well, CC is adding to my woes.  The pictures won't up load, so I'll try again later if I can.

Please forgive my "rant", but I don't know how else to explain what is happening.

Lenda

We have visited Puerto Vallarta at least 14 times on several cruise lines but mostly on BHBs.  I have tried to find pictures that are different, but there is at least one repeat.

I'll start with pictures of the Malecon
