tripperva Posted November 9, 2022 #6 Share Posted November 9, 2022 We are on in January, our first time on the larger O ship. We liked the R class O very much. Do most passengers prefer the larger size or the smaller size O ships?

jonthomas Posted November 9, 2022 #10 Share Posted November 9, 2022 One of our best cruises was on the tiny Insignia, will definitely sail on her again. The friendliness of staff and guests. The food was amazing, yes before covid.
Rare mauibabes Posted November 9, 2022 #11 Share Posted November 9, 2022 We can hardly wait to start reading the comments about the “New” Riviera when she returns Dec. 7. The pictures look AMAZING but we won’t be aboard her until the end of 2023, hopefully. Mauibabes

Rare DENIE Posted November 10, 2022 #15 Share Posted November 10, 2022 Loved sailing her in June. Hope to see what she looks like at some point in the future! 🙂
EasyGoingGuy Posted November 14, 2022 #16 Share Posted November 14, 2022 From the Travel Weekly article.. "Oceania is calling it a "stem-to-stern re-inspiration" of the Riviera and the Marina. Built to accommodate 1,250 passengers, the ships will have a capacity for 1,210 after the refurbishments." 40 less pax is 20 cabins (I know, the obvious). Seems like a lot to lose unless they're maybe taking smaller cabins and combining them into larger ones. Anyone know?

I haven't counted but were there 625 cabins before update? Or, is full capacity determined by any rooms that can accommodate 3 or 4 people? I see quite a few triples on the deck plan. Maybe they're pulling out 40 sofa beds. I didn't count the cabins. My eyes are too old for that. Edited November 14, 2022 by ORV
EasyGoingGuy Posted November 14, 2022 #18 Share Posted November 14, 2022 I believe that capacity is always quoted based on 'double occupancy'. ORV... I see in your 'coming up "Enticing Caribbean". We've got that one scheduled just a month later than you. Looking forward to a relaxing cruise as our Dec'21-Jan'22 South American covid impacted one wasn't. Rare LHT28 Posted November 15, 2022 #23 Share Posted November 15, 2022 Guess we will hear more on Dec 4th Maybe not selling inside cabins for the public & keeping them for visiting staff like entertainers ?? That is like 20 cabins

GerryL13 Posted November 15, 2022 #25 Share Posted November 15, 2022 A couple of weeks ago I put a deposit on a 2025 cruise on Riviera. I'll be looking forward to seeing the new look. Gee, I hope my cabin is not one of the 20 that will be disappearing!
