Purchased Princess Plus, under the old price, will the new pricing scheme be honored?

We are on a casino comp cruise - we paid nothing for the cabin and received the princess plus ad on.  We booked it last summer.  Our cruise is next month - and our cruise summary is showing that we are receiving the new package - with dessets, exercise class, free mailing of medallion, etc.

I believe that when the new plus package rolled in during February, any one with the old plus is now in the new plus and you would not pay extra.

Nope - at least that is what is showing.  we booked PLUS 50 - not the current $60 and ours does not include the desserts and fitness classes ... thank goodness...

from the reviews on the desserts, I don't think we will bother either and fitness classes have never been on the agenda.

Lots or reports that it is working as planned.  Plus $50 don't get the "New" items and Plus $60 do.

Thanks Jimmy, but we are not bothered about those extras, just interested if you have $12 limit or $15 limit for drinks if you purchased before the changes, as per the original post.

Everyone is saying, on a myriad of posts, that regardless of the price you paid for Plus, your drink limit is $15.

Just off the Sky Princess last week and we booked and paid for the Plus Pkg before the price went to $60.  I ordered 2 glasses of wine in the Crown Grille which were $16 each expecting to be charged an upcharge of $1 each plus 18% gratuity.  When I checked my account, which I did several times that week, I was charged a $4 upcharge for each of them plus the 18%.  I went to Guest Services and even had a printout from the Princess Website that others had found saying that the upcharge would only be for drinks over $15.  The gal at Guest Services said no that we were only allowed up to $12 dollars and was very snippy when I showed her the printout.  Offered to sell me the Plus Pkg at the increased price or the Premium Pkg.  Nope not cost effective for me either way.  So I thanked her for her time.  2 days later when I checked my folio the two charges were removed.  So who knows what happened.  There was another Guest Services Rep standing close by so maybe he told her that she was wrong or maybe he just took the charges off as a goodwill gesture.  I don't know.  None of us ordered anything over the $12 limit after that as we just didn't see anything that we wanted over the $12.  That was my experience.  So, so check your folio as others have said.

Go to your on-line Cruise Personalizer.  Click on Payments (which should be re-titled Payments and Packages). Click on Upgrade Now.  Check your current package (it will say "Purchased" as shown above).  The red note below "Purchased" explains what is not included (the NEW items) as shown above.

I'm in the UK and see payments and Credits, the only info I can find in my personaliser is the 2nd photo below. I have been booked for ages and only paid £30 each a day for Princess Plus package. As long as I can get strawberry daccquiries, strawberry margaritas and Pina coladas I will be happy if not, they can refund the whole Princess plus package cost for me.

Wow.  Here is what the Payments screen looks like in the US.  When you click on Upgrade Now the screen quoted in your post #133 appears.

This is the same as any order you place, you receive the product you paid for, no matter how much they raise the price (from $12 to $15) for drinks for Plus package.

Similar to the new vehicle we just purchased for one of our children. We ordered a Model Y in January when the base price was drastically slashed to $52,990.  Took delivery the beginning of this month; and now the current base price is $54,990.  We didn't pay "the difference" of $2,000.

Except people are reporting that they are being charged for drinks over 12 (but 15 or less) and that the drink prices have gone up….  I’ve seen it from at least three sources in two different ships.

It's probably best to not lose a lot of vacation time arguing with employees on the ship. When everyone gets home, they can pursue it with Princess corporate and likely get a refund for the overcharges.

Totally disagree. Talk to bar manager. I have a screen shot showing plus package is $15 and it is part of my package that I booked a year ago sailing on Friday

Curious - if you booked a 'year ago' - wasn't that at PLUS 40 and the limit was $12?

Yes at that time but when I check on the personalizer and click on upgrade to plus I get a screen with perks included showing drinks to $15. It also shows 3 items with NEW next to them. It then says my current package does not include the NEW items. Also I have seen bar menus showing lists of liquors and wines that say included with Plus no mention of multiple plans

@memoak You are correct in that it doesn't distinguish between Plus (the current one), the Plus-50 (as mine is called) or the previous Plus-40 on the drink menus.  But on the following thread, which both of us previously commented on, there are some spirits that are 14.00 or 15.00 but are under the "Included with Premier", not under the "Included with Plus".  That, combined with the reports of people with the Plus-40 or Plus-50 that when they ordered a 14.00 drink were charged 2.00 + tip, or a 16.00 drink were charged 4.00 plus tip (should be 1.00 plus tip in this case) is what has me worried.  See post #18 for the drink menu pictures I am referring to.

Ive read many of these posts but not all of them and im still confused as to what the answer is to

If you have the plus package but bought when the limit was $12 are you or are you not able to now get the drinks up to $15 ????

so many reports of yes and No or is it really that the staff have no idea ??? and its now pot luck?

When they scan you for a drink there are 9 medallions of different color and names.  The one you bought will show up on their scanner and you will pay whatever that medallion picture says you pay. They included the old and new packages.

It makes no difference - if you bought the plus package, you get the plus beverage  package, which includes all drinks up to $15.

You really need to read all the posts to keep up !

Respectively disagree. In all of my travels I have found that it is always best to try to achieve a resolution on the spot and only if that fails, then try to get relief using documentation after the fact.

What people are reporting is the use of out of date menus and individual crew members making mistakes. There is no ambiguity as to what is supposed to happen. Now it is up to us as consumers to confront the people who make mistakes and get them to understand what is going on. We often forget that the rank and file crew members live in a bubble and are largely cut off from outside news and corporate changes for 9 months at a time. They don’t read the industry newsletters, watch the YouTube channels run by cruise enthusiasts or read CruiseCritic. Most (all) of what I have read suggests that when mistakes are made they are being corrected. But we all need to be vigilant until the new normal becomes normal. The new price rules are very clear. No matter when you bought Plus or what you paid for it, you are entitled to drinks up to $15.
