When I'm onboard I am busy taking in the ports, the ship (or a good afternoon nap), I don't know how people make the time to live post. Your posts are appreciated and, of course, it should be secondary to enjoying yourself. 😀

I need to resize photos to post and that requires more of an effort. However, I made a commitment here and I intend to honour it! 😁 6
lincslady Posted April 23 #2557 Share Posted April 23 But please not at the expense of enjoying yourself and getting enough rest! We can survive a few days without hearing from you. Lola

Rare mysty Posted April 25 Author #2560 Share Posted April 25 Yesterday we were in Kagoshima, Japan. We did an excursion called Landscapes of Kagoshima. We boarded buses and drove to the ferry where the buses boarded and we sailed to Sakurajima. First stop was to an observation area allowing views of Mount Sakura. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate. The observation area was interesting though. People make wishes here by throwing coins onto the rocks. Next stop was Sengan-en, the sprawling traditional gardens and the house lived in by the lords of the Shimadzu clan. As we sailed away Mount Sakura was visible. 12

You seem to have a lovely day for your visit. Ours was on a holy day and was extremely crowded with local families. The “sky walk” is simply a thick glass platform jutting out over the water. Five minutes looking at the view. A few people walked the stairs down to the rocks. The rest of us stood around chatting in the shade of the building across the road for half an hour! Or was it longer than that? Edited April 26 by Port Power Mention of crowds 2

As @Port Power has mentioned, the Skywalk was really not much of anything and we were there for an hour. We enjoyed the Temple and could have done without the Skywalk. Rare mysty Posted April 30 Author #2574 Share Posted April 30 (edited) Today we were in Hakodate, Japan. We did an excursion called Trappistine Convent & Goryokaku Park. First stop was Our Lady of the Angels' Trappistine Convent. Next was the Goryokaku Tower. Then Goryokaku Park and Magistrate's Office. The cherry blossoms were beautiful. Rare drron29 Posted April 30 #2575 Share Posted April 30 I thought you might arrive in Hakodate for peak cherry blossom viewing and it looks like you certainly did. That view from the tower must be so beautiful. And at the Convent you would have had a lot more colour than we did 15 days ago when maybe just the first cherry blossom bud had appeared.
