Rare scooter6139 Posted January 4, 2023 #5 Share Posted January 4, 2023 Wife and I did this, used both of ours so we shared a total of 8 items. Was a bit much. Turned out to be one of my favorite dinners! 😐

Rare EllieinNJ Posted January 4, 2023 #7 Share Posted January 4, 2023 Suggestion:. Just order four or five to start. So e plates are bigger than others so by then you will know how much more to order. We wound up leaving over alot.

Ixtoras Posted January 4, 2023 #12 Share Posted January 4, 2023 18 minutes ago, jeffw67 said: Four items does sound like a lot. And that's four items per person? Yes, that is 4 items per FAS dining package credit. As mentioned above, some plates are bigger than others and 8 plates was a bit much for us as a couple. It was good enough that we ended up eating at food republic three times on our last cruise. Twice (one lunch and one dinner) we only got 4 plates and used only one FAS dining package credit and were completely satisfied. There's a pretty good variety of items, and I've liked all of the sushi rolls I've had. The thai chicken lettus wraps are good. The ramen is good, but was a bit too spicy for the DW. Both the tuna poke nachos and tuna stack were both very good. pork belly from the grill menu was great. Hope you have a great time!
Rare mking8288 Posted January 4, 2023 #13 Share Posted January 4, 2023 (edited) Here are some Food Republic onboard the Joy last May - it was a feast for 6 of us, used only 4 sets of dining coupons/vouchers - server stopped us from ordering more, said we can always do if still hungry ... Better yet, come back the next evening (lunch - if open on full sea days). Way, way too much and we ended - everyone stuffed full, with with takeouts - sushi rolls for midnight snack in our cabin. If we are going to do it again, use 2 vouchers - 8 items to share among 4, maybe add 1 or 2 extra items at most ... dine there twice. Can't vouch as to portion sizes might've shrink but a la carte prices were reasonable + 20% and the place wasn't busy on our sailing with reduced occupancy level. Those rolls are oversized, jumbo vs. petite ones seen elsewhere on the ship. Bon Appétit Edited January 4, 2023 by mking8288
Rare Sailing12Away Posted January 4, 2023 #14 Share Posted January 4, 2023 These were my picks in September. Looking forward to eating there for lunch again in February. Despite the phallic shape of the shishito peppers, they were quite tasty and something I will definitely repeat. 1
Wedgie Wedgie Posted January 4, 2023 #15 Share Posted January 4, 2023 Can you use a platinum coupon here too? Is that where you used 1 coupon for 4 items for 2 people or did you use your FAS dinners? I know 2 rolls each would easily satisfy us.

As others have replied earlier, the answer is yes to your question. It is also worth noticing that most of the dishes on the menu are quite large, so just using one voucher at the time to and share the 4 dishes amongst you is both allowed and recommended in most cases. That way you can have TWO dinners (or lunches) at Food Republic, and using one of the vouchers each time.

PCJunkie516 Posted January 4, 2023 #19 Share Posted January 4, 2023 We LOVED Food Republic on our recent cruise on the Encore. Our favorite items were the pastrami dumplings and the crispy salmon roll.
22KristenB Posted January 5, 2023 #20 Share Posted January 5, 2023 From the comments, it seems like this may be a good option for me and husband (specialty dining credit), but bring our teen son along without an extra fee, as some commented about using it for more people with plenty of food. Is this allowed? Using 2 credits for 3 people? If so, would work perfect for us!
Rare mking8288 Posted January 5, 2023 #21 Share Posted January 5, 2023 @22KristenB There is no minimum charger per person dining at FR, bring your teenager along - and if he is a big eater, and if 8 items aren't enough, just add 1 or 2 items ... a la carte prices aren't bad at all. Better yet, for desserts - stop by the buffet (or O'Sheehan's / The Local) afterward & it's complimentary, AYCE ... plus all the fresh fruits as available, etc.
