AK Dreaming Posted January 26, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2023 Someone one board heard they were not stopping tomorrow, but it seems early to make that call. Has anyone heard anything?

AK Dreaming Posted January 26, 2023 Author #3 Share Posted January 26, 2023 Actually is was my family member. She heard somone say it during breakfast. She is having issues with Sea Sickness and was really hoping to get off the ship. I was hoping to hear good news I could share with her?
Rare ColeThornton Posted January 26, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 26, 2023 Why doesn't she just ask one of the officers on the ship?

Because asking an officer is not much better than asking a customer service rep or PCC. They are going to tell you what they are told to tell you, truth or not, or worse a personal opinion.

Has anyone heard anything? Pick up phone, dial "0", and ask guest services. That decision is usually not made until the morning when the captain assesses the conditions. Windy says 20 kt winds gusting to 27 kts. It would not be the best tendering weather (if you are sea sick on the ship, the tenders will be bouncing).

If she is having trouble with seasickness, hav her try some sliced green apples with a little salt. As someone with constant nausea, I can attest it work pretty well, especially for seasickness. And we had 5 VERY rocky days out to Hawaii. (this was on Carnvial)
Rare mking8288 Posted January 27, 2023 #11 Share Posted January 27, 2023 North wind at GSC - Berry Islands, forecast in the morning worsening, wind at 20 gusting to 27 knots & waves at 3 to 4 ft. and swell, not safe to send passengers & crew ashore, returning to the ship via tender ... even worst. Imagine a vertical movement of 3 to 5 ft. on that floating platform that you must step on & off. This, IMHO, strictly a safety call by NCL.
woody378 Posted January 27, 2023 #12 Share Posted January 27, 2023 Seas are pretty calm this morning. Probably will be stopping at GSC today.

david_sobe Posted January 27, 2023 #14 Share Posted January 27, 2023 GSC is usually a morning decision. The seas or weather have to be REALLY bad to cancel it so far in advance.
