There is only one Cruise Terminal in Amsterdam.

Amsterdam Cruise Port,  De Ruijterkade 7, 1011 AB Amsterdam, Netherlands

It is about 1/4 mile from Amsterdam Central Train Station

Join your Roll Call or look at an existing one and you will see many hotel recommendations.

Also be cognizant that many of the sailing this season have been shifted to Rotterdam for either Arrival or Departure.    It is due to new port schedules to correspond with tides to limit salt intrusion.

I stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station for a Celebrity Cruise in June 2022. It was nice. Not spectacular, but comfortable. Rooms were clean. It was easy enough to spend the day before wandering around Amsterdam and then a 10 minute walk with rollable luggage to the cruise terminal day of departure.

When is your cruise? We are on the Apex in September and most of the Apex summer cruises have moved their departure and or return port to Rotterdam, about 30 minutes from Amsterdam and 40 minutes from the AMS airport. Both ports use the same airport.

Our July 7th Apex cruise is now RT Rotterdam vs Amsterdam. We had booked three nights pre-cruise stay at the Hyatt Amsterdam but now we changed things around. Two nights at the Doubletree Amsterdam Central Station and third night at the Holiday Inn Express Rotterdam. The hotels were chosen for their accessibility to public transportation. On return we are actually taking the train to Paris and the switch to Rotterdam actually shortens our train ride to Paris so we're all fine with the Port change. Oh and all hotel stays are on points, so now actual cash being used for hotels!

We have not been to Amsterdam before, so we are staying there for 3 nights and we have booked a private minivan for our group of 4 to Rotterdam from our hotel. It is about a 40 minute drive to Rotterdam from the hotel. The cost for the transport is 219 Euros for the 4 of us. We thought about staying in Rotterdam, but it is more and industrial city and not much to see or do. Our cruise ends up in Athens so do not have to deal with our return to Rotterdam.

Not until July of 2024

If you're looking to explore the city first, anywhere is great. We stayed at the QO Amsterdam which was a 10 minute train ride to Central station when we cruised out of Amsterdam in May 2019. Anywhere that is train to Central station accessible is great, since it's a quick walk or cab from the train station to port.

If walking from Central to port, remember it's cobblestone type walkways around there, so maneuvering a suitcase is not fun, but doable.

Do not be surprised if your 2024 cruise gets moved to Rotterdam, as the same issues for docking in Amsterdam this summer will most likely be for 2024 too. When we booked our Apex cruise this year it was from Amsterdam but got moved last fall to Rotterdam.

We stayed at Doubletree.  Nice, but not walking distance to the port with luggage.  Take a taxi.

This is a case of YMMV. We walked to the port easily with luggage, from the Doubletree. One 26 rollable and one carry one roller per person.

We are doing the TA on Apex in April and now arriving Rotterdam.   After a week in Amsterdam we rejoin the Apex for the British Isle -   It departs Amsterdam but returns to Rotterdam.     Been lots of discussion (after all the complaining) on our Roll Calls.

The same for our Apex September Roll call. I tried to put it into perspective that it would be no different than moving the port from Galveston to the Port of Houston, same airports just different times to get there. I do not think some people know how to look at a map online, one of our FB members thought they had to change their airfare and complained that he couldn't find tickets to Rotterdam.

I don't mean to sound elitist but some people have a hard time with making the simplest travel plans. We have a 30 day TP on Carnival this fall from Seattle to Brisbane. I'm on various Fb groups for the cruise. There's this one person who insisted that the disembarkation date Carnival provided is incorrect. They are even on a B2B with the following cruise and they think it's all wrong. When I tried to reason with them their response is you know it's the next day in Brisbane right now, don't you? So I asked what's that have to do with our cruise in September? Someone else replied, ALL Dates listed are in local time. They responded to that with a thank you. Which implies this person thought that the disembarkation date Carnival provided was in Seattle time, and Australia is a day ahead so the disembarkation date has to be a day later. But why would you EVER think that?

Many 2024 cruises on Silhouette have been published ex or to Rotterdam from the beginning.

Our go to hotel in Amsterdam is the Doubletree Centraal Station as we like to take the train from the airport and walk to the hotel (we travel light).  We walk everywhere from there but you can catch the tram in front of the train station as well.  Boarding day we walk to the ship or in the case of Rotterdam port we take the train there the morning of boarding.
