We sailed Radiance in 2014 and I used to get a kick watching the gyro stabilised pool tables. The ocean seemed pretty calm but those things showed how un-calm it really was 🙂

I thought I read somewhere that they'd turned them off now. Anyone know if that's true?

Were working in 2020 before shutdown.

We still fly, but it is only an hour instead of an all-day adventure. 😊

Next cruise we are taking the train from Roanoke, Virginia to Newark Penn Station  for a cruise out of Bayonne, NJ.

Will be new mode of transportation to a cruise for us. 🙂

Cartagena traffic

I remember some of those sculptures and sights from our stop in Cartagena.  I remember taking a photo of their DMV as we passed it, and the line of people looked much like this line of cars.

How has the heat been?  We visited in April, and It was really hot.

In 2019 I did PC both ways, first westbound then eastbound (then TA and Med) on the Jewel, Radiance's sister ship.

On the first, after a tour in Cartagena (private, arranged by the wonderful Lee, a.k.a. Mr Emerald, an ex-pat from Minnesota), before we returned to the ship, I saw this party boat out in the harbor.  They were having SO.MUCH.FUN. when I got back to the ship, I asked about it, and booked it for the next cruise.  OMG.  BEYOND so much fun!  A real highlight of my cruising experience!

It was also the easiest way to return to the ship!  😄

Fabulous day in my favourite port.

$5 cab to the charming street art area of Getsemani, then walked over to the old town.
Stunning lunch incl 4 beers cost $22 then $10 cab ride back to the ship, walking through the great wildlife reserve

So including buying coffee 🫘 about $50 for both of us for the day. Bargain.
