Hi! Just a little note that when I have received FCC it doesn’t actually show up anywhere I can see it, but when I phone NCL to ask about it they can see it from their end.

Same.  Matter of fact, if I’m looking at a particular cruise, I either call my TA or find an NCL PCC to look at my account.  If I’m aware of a FCC, a coupon, a Cruise Next that isn’t in my account visible on my end, they’ve been able to apply it on their end.

UPDATE.....heard back from NCL re: room noise issues.   2k credit in addition to the 20% they gave every cabin on board for for the general cruise issues.   Very pleased.  My daughter is on the Bliss this week.  LOVES it and we have used our credits to book  9 night to Greece next summer on the Pearl, which we have sailed on before and loved.

Good for you guys.  Happy to hear NCL took care of you.

I keep seeing report that NCL has all noisy rooms documented.  I find that hard to believe, they just aren't that sophisticated

while i agree that they are generally not that sophisticated, this isn’t very hard. somebody reports a noise problem of this type, a staff member is sent to verify, and then it gets documented in the database. whether they can pull up a list of all the rooms or whether the problem is just documented individually for each room, i couldn't tell you.  i assume the former… how else are they going to fix this in dry dock… assuming they want to fix it?

it appears to be some sort of manufacturing defect that took place during the build within the walls and/or ceiling of some cabins… undue pressure at certain stress points during high seas. that’s my layman’s explanation.  NCL wont really know unless they rip the cabin open. i would assume they have been in touch with the ship’s builder to make sure it doesn't happen again and/or to seek compensation for the lemon that they delivered.

@UKstages Agree with the noise issue, has to be an embarrassment to Fincantieri and NCL. Expecting the Prima to be redeployed to the Mediterranean sooner than later for at least an inspection by the builder.

The question is are there other ships built with a similar design by Fincantieri having the same issues?

Isn't the Viva being built with the same/nearly identical design or framework, etc. ??

If that's the case, Jim - we expect a detailed onboard report from your upcoming crossing ... and, isn't Starlink is supposed to be "live" with the new ship.

NCL should have a good supply of disposable earplugs on hand at Guest Services for noise abatement.

I am a glutton for punishment...a two timer on the Prima and now in the process of negotiating with myself to book the Viva TA. There must be a place for me to seek the help I need.

You should really book that Viva TA...but for me. Then you can follow along. I'll be sure to tell you all the bad, but none of the good. 🙂 Then you'll know you won.

Aren't you playing if "The Price of Right" with the Viva, LOL 😁 😉 😆 and isn't today supposed to be the last day for that special, time-limited promo "TripleUp" CruiseNext deal, hehe.  We're looking at it too - price differential isn't much between Insides, OV and Balconies ("BF") and declined to look further as we'll be flying both ways, on our own dimes (dollars, mucho ...) with air arrangements.  Friends of ours just picked up their tempting CAS offer this weekend and having trouble deciding, forwarded the detailed particulars to me for advice.

You'll just have to figure out whether it is "Deal or No Deal" by rolling the 3 dices.  Now, I don't think it'll make you feel any better, the Prima TA isn't selling well either - leaving on her westbound just a few days later.  There is a potential "backup" option in case any issues come up with the Viva.

Seriously, let's hope NCL learn some lessons with the Prima ... this is the "new" Epic.

@mking8288 Seems so strange that the Prima had all those " leaked photos and videos " while Viva has almost nothing posted.

Maybe NCL rushed the Prima, attempting to capture the post covid market, and really never completed that builder's punch list. If that's true then shame on NCL.

Hopefully, the ship will have Starlink and I'll be able to post a few photos. Should be enough coverage while crossing.

@Sugar Magnolia The prices for the TA are so low that some casinos are giving away free cruises, our current price is $125 per person per day, balcony BB cabin

Yes but once I board I might be playing "Survivor."

My wife says she's an enabler every time I have my 10th double Crown of the day.

I can live with that.  🙃

Glutton for Punishment for sure. 😂

As much as I enjoyed the Prima…after hearing about the excessive noise in wide open waters, there is no way in $#%% I would do 5 days across the Atlantic in November!!

I’m onboard right now, and am very pleased with the ship so far. We are currently stuck in a lock that is not operating correctly leaving Amsterdam and have been here for a while. I won’t be surprised to read someone complaining that the Casino never opened tonight as people were camped out in the Casino impatiently waiting for us to clear the lock. Captain announced the lock is malfunctioning, so we may be here for a bit. Here’s a link to the picture of the exact lock we are in… https://www.dw.com/en/netherlands-unveils-worlds-largest-canal-lock/a-60564264

Plenty of minor issues, but man oh man do I hear people onboard complaining about the most minor things. Can’t people just enjoy the trip for what it is? No way any line would be able to please some of these people!

Be sure to ask for a free cruise for your inconvenience.

Did the Prima dock near Amsterdam's city center? The Dawn will be docking at Ijmuiden in a few weeks which is not near the city center, so was wondering whether we could face a similar issue, thus cutting into my valuable casino time.

when i was in amsterdam on the prima last month, we docked at passenger terminal amsterdam (PTA), which is about a ten to fifteen minute walk to central station. i walked about 13 miles that day… it’s a very walkable city. anyway, that cruise terminal is close to city center, yes.

and we did go through that same lock, without incident.

Wish we were docking at PTA next month instead of at Ijmuiden, which is at least a half hour ride to the city center. Unsure why NCL changed ports.
