I have my 1st Celebrity cruise coming up in September. One of the main. reasons I booked Celebrity, was because No Smoking in the ship, especially the casinos. Now I'm reading that they are going to allow smoking? Designating half the casino smoking and half non smoking, just doesn't cut it. When does this policy start?

Celebrity's canned response to inquiries has been "This test is currently in place on the Celebrity Equinox and Celebrity Eclipse, and at this time there has been minimal to no impact to our guests experience onboard.  Vaping will only be allowed in certain areas of the casino for casino guests, during operating hours only. Cigarettes, pipes and cigars will still be prohibited in the casino."

If you feel, as many of us do, that the consideration of this change in policy is a mistake, please send your concerns to ExecutiveOffice@celebrity.com

The test allows vaping, no other smoking.

Yep I'm on Equinox

Now that you know the facts of the 8 week test for allowing vaping in all of the casino on the Equinox and Eclipse.

Here's the Email addresses to voice your concerns, complaints and disappointments about the ridiculous decision to conduct a vaping test in the casinos.

Please tell us where you have read that 'smoking' is being permitted in any part of the casino????

That would be news to the members of this forum, for sure!!!

We really would like to know this 'factual' information, ASAP...

bon voyage

I was under the impression that when there were signs posted there was no demarcation of vaping vs no vaping. And now that signage has been removed and there’s only word of mouth and a notice in the daily bulletin I don’t remember there being a particular area designated vaping allowed. I could be wrong.

After some searching, I found this photo by @Georgia_Peaches that’s posted in a topic that’s been closed. I hope you don’t mind me reposting!

I'm very interested in knowing if Celebrity is considering a change to allow vaping or smoking in the casinos.  The fact that the casino is non smoking is something we really enjoy.

We were on a recent Holland America cruise and they had a designated smoking area in their casino.  Our clothes reeked and the air smelled.  After one visit, we didn't go back.

Their website still reads 'no smoking' while onboard.  I do agree with others that an email to guest services would help.

Yes, they are considering vaping and testing it on two ships

We were on a cruise (not Celebrity) recently where heavy cigarette smoke smell was all over the casino and pouring out into adjacent public areas.  I'm pretty much live and let live, but it was pretty intense.  I may lead a sheltered life, but honestly don't know if vaping vapors create a similar smell?   I also wonder if the clothing of vapors smells similar to clothing worn by smokers?  Just curious.

Here's the response I received today...

Thank you so much for this valuable feedback. We really appreciate you taking the time to contact the Executive Offices at Celebrity Cruises.

This test is currently taking place in the casinos on the Celebrity Equinox and Celebrity Eclipse through August 20th. It is a test at this point, and all feedback is being taking into consideration, so again, thank you.

As a brand we will continue to keep our guests as the main focus, and you taking the time to reach out is truly beneficial and appreciated. Again, thank you so much for the feedback provided regarding our recent change.

Sincerely,

Executive Office
