What is Yummy in the Main Dining Room?

I keep hearing about how the quality of food has gone down. I board the Oasis on September 17th. Is there anything you recommend? Or is there anything I should avoid? I know there are a lot of posts about dining but I am having a hard time finding specifics. I would really appreciate any advice!! Thanks!!

We cruised in June and I don't think it was as bad as people are making it out to be.  It was "fine", but not really memorable.  The only thing I remember thinking I wanted more of was the crab cake appetizer.  Other than that, there was nothing memorable.  It's not what it once was but it's fine.

That's how I've felt about the MDR for very long time, long before any changes.

That said, as mentioned above, food is very subjective.

Yummy?  Let’s see.

Duck a l’orange? - nope, they don’t serve it anymore.
Lamb Chops? - nope, they only serve skimpy lamb shanks now.
Crab cakes? - crab meat is not rubbery is it?  What’s in there?

Caribbean Pork Chops - oh waiter, would you sharpen this steak knife?

Mexican night - is this skirt steak? Did they skin the bull first?

Could I get cheese cake for dessert?  Oh, not tonight?

I could go on…..

If only they could bring in pizza from Sorrento’s .My favorite food on every cruise I have ever been on.

Planning on the pizza for a late night snack. My sister has celiac so the gluten free pizza is awesome too.

Very helpful!! Thanks!!

Their Asian style pork bao tacos are another good one.

My DH usually likes their prime rib,  I like their roasted turkey dinner and always ask for all white meat.   Some of other favorites are the fish of the day and fish n chips.

The pecan crusted salmon was really good. Warm cookie was a great dessert. Kids enjoyed the tortellini with cream sauce.

On the flip side, the apple cobbler on formal night was terrible - it tasted like they used rancid oil to make it. Try to find the apple blossom on the lunch menu instead - YUM!

We've been on 3 cruises since the start up. The roasted beef tenderloin is still excellent.  We love the carrot cake it was always 3 layers it is now 2 layers but very good.  I'm going to ask for one to go. The Asian pork tacos have been good.
